Ive been going to Salon Z for almost a year now. I followed my stylist Marcey J to this location. Here are my reasons for giving this salon 5 stars: 1) I love its convenient location. Its very close to interstate so whether Im coming from home or work I can get to it easily. This salon is in the same large plaza as Toys R Us, which is across the street from Towncenter Mall. Since its in a plaza that also means there is never a problem with parking even on busy days. 2) This salon is chic yet cozy. Nice white couch, plenty of reading material, a TV, and about 3-4 stylist booths. Its not to busy where when you walk in theres about 30 ppl (Ive experienced that before) or too small where theres such a lack of space that people are sitting on top of one another. I also love that these stylists dont overbook. So no waiting for hours on end AFTER your appointment time to get in the chair. With Marcey I may have waited 20 mins max and thats not even common. I usually come right in and hope in the chair. Oh! And as a very important point, this salon is CLEAN! Ugh, nothing worse than a salon where youre scared to put your things down or sit down for that matter. 3) I come here for Marcey J. Shes been my stylist for over 10 years now and has seen my hair in and through all stages. Relaxed, relaxed and a short cut, my wedding and other significant events, my big chop, natural hair, and coloring experiments. Her goal is for you to have healthy hair and thats exactly what I have. Shes professional, knowledgeable, personable, and always on a quest to learn more about haircare and new techniques. She has learned me as a client and in turn she knows just what to do even when I dont. Theres nothing like coming in to your stylist and saying "I want something different..." and not knowing what that means or looks like, but still leaving completely satisfied. PERFECT!

I hate to do this. I will not return. I trusted that I would be in good hands based on the reviews I read and the pics. The staff was friendly, but... I have natural hair. I went in on Tuesday evening for a silk press and style. This was my first time getting one. I noticed something that didnt seem right from the conditioning process. The conditioner was not combed through. I thought maybe the process for achieving a silk press was different so I didnt make a fuss. My hair reverted in less than 24 hours. By the morning my hair was frizzy and starting to poof out. I believe what happened is that my hair was not completely dry before the flat iron process started. It is Thursday and my hair completely poufy at the roots. I usually go to the Dominican Salon and get a blow out. My natural hair stays straight for 3 weeks, almost a month at times and they treat my hair with more TLC.

At Salon Z the service is excellent, the atmosphere is inviting, and the ladies are welcoming and friendly. I can personally attest to Maxine, who is my stylist. Maxine specializes in natural hair care, but definitely has the knowledge and skill set to work with all hair types. Her number one priority is the health of your hair and will work with you to help you achieve and maintain that goal. Not only does she take excellent care of your hair, but she teaches and offers product and regimen recommendations, based on your personal needs, so that you can continue a healthy hair care routine at home. Laverne is talented she the best hair stylist Ive had since living in GA. Shes on Point with my hair cuts, color. Laverne is also a pleasure, she has a pleasant and positive attitude, I feel relaxed while in her salon, and extra beautiful when I leave. I trust my hair with no one else, but Laverne. She also has a great team of stylist as well. My daughter Nicollette wears her hair natural, shes also tender headed. Max is the best when it comes to natural hair she takes her time with my daughters hair, she has a great technique when coming out her hair, my daughter has had a great hair experience since max has been styling her hair. I couldnt be more pleased. The best salon in kennesaw!

Me and my daughter have been going to Laverne since Ive moved to GA 5 years ago and other then getting braids her hands are the only ones in my head. Shes amazing very professional I will say it again very professional. Its very hard to find a stylist that cares about your time. She never overbooks herself and hates to have you waiting which is very rare on a typical day youre walking in and shes finishing up on her previous client her time management is everything. Shes believes in healthy hair care and will make sure you know what you need to do in order to have healthy hair. Was not greeted when I walked in the door. Sat on the couch for almost an hour to be helped. The three ladies in the salon finally noticed I was there once they took somebody who came in after me. Albeit I did not have an appointment, that shouldnt of mattered. Needless to say I sat in the salon for 3-4 hours for a very sub-par silk press that I had to pay $75 for. Not sure if the half asian looking lady is the receptionist or not, but I took her as such. I waslked up to her to pay and she did not even glance my way while she was sitting there with her headphones in watching the tv. Will not be returning for anything at all.

Laverne has been doing my hair for a little of 2 years now as well as my mothers. She does a great job and is always very welcoming and pleasant. As I transition through natural hair growth, Laverne knows that right care and treatment for me. She has also done my color treatment and I am always complimented on how fresh my color looks even after long periods of time! Her salon is beautifully decorated and will make you feel right at home. The other stylists in the salon are as equally pleasant and talented. I highly recommend you try Salon Z. You will never want to let anyone else touch your hair!
