I was very dissatisfied with the customer service at this location. I was recently involved in an accident and was rear-ended by an individual with Auto Owners insurance. The insurance company handled the claim and sent an estimator to look at my vehicle and issue a check. I had the option of taking the car to any repair facility and chose Gerber because it was near by and they had the vehicle on file from a State Farm claim years ago. I called the McDonough location on 01/23/17 to see if I could bring the car in for repairs and was scoffed at by a rude lady who indicated I must have an appointment for service - fair enough. She told me the earliest date I could bring the car in would be 02/02/17 - 10 days. I was a little surprised and she said "yeah... thats how busy we are". I said no problem and we scheduled the appointment for noon. I arrived today and the receptionist told me she didnt see my appointment and was repeatedly asking for a State Farm claim number after I advised her it was not a State Farm claim. She insisted that I needed to have the insurance company put in an appointment request after I told her someone from this location had already scheduled an appointment for the drop off. She proceeded to walk around the room and ask 3 estimators if they remember speaking to me 10 days ago. After a few bewildered looks from the estimators she simply said "sorry but everyone said they did not talk to you, all I can do is schedule you another appointment". I dont have 20+ days to be without a car and I dont find it acceptable at all how I was treated. I said thanks but Ill take it elsewhere she said "OK :)". I left the location with $4000 check in hand and had it dropped off at Jodeco Auto Body (who do excellent work also) in 20 minutes. Ridiculous.

Management received feedback from my previous review and reacted in a positive way. Ill clarify that, if in need of body work again, this will be the first place I check with. The work was solid and done quickly and the management responsive. The gap came in initially handling engagement and communication of details to an anxious customer with a lot of other things on his mind, with no clear direction on which State Farm Direct Service Repair facility would be the best in the area, and his best vehicle about to go under the knife (I drive a 98 Jetta to work, and a 94 B3000 on the weekends, and so my 2008 luxury SUV that I came into under very rare circumstances I try to take care of to the best of my ability, despite the efforts of the wife and kids to the contrary!) Likely, if youre less anxious than I, youre experience will probably be better initially. Overall, 4 out of 5.

Sara was my Estimator, and she was so professional and courteous. I had received other estimates from other shops that were close to her quote. However, I chose Gerber based on her level of professionalism and personality. She is both knowledgeable and personable. Brittany at the front desk is very friendly and kind. The repair on the paint job was exactly what I had hoped for, the technician worked carefully to save my wheel rim since it was not damaged in the accident. And he did it! I had ordered a mirror glass before going in, only to discover I needed a motor, Sara said she would use the glass and order the motor. The parts Manager ordered my parts which came so quickly my vehicle was ready way before I thought it would be. I would recommend Gerber to everyone! Thank you for a great experience.

The price quotes was not what they charged. It ended up being hundreds of dollars more.. Do not go here..........Update...... I was contacted by their manager and she listened to my concerns. She had her opinion and I had mine. Nothing changed but they did care enough to reach out to learn more about my concern.
