As appears to be the case with most of us who live in PTC, I tend to avoid this post office as much as possible. Since the Tyrone office was experiencing computer problems this morning, I went to the PTC office to mail a package. The self-service kiosk unfortunately was not in service for packages, forcing me to wait in the lobby until the counter opens at 0900. A representative opened the doors at 0900 (according to the time on my phone) and I approached a second representative at the counter. She stated that she didnt know why her colleague opened the doors, because according to her, it wasnt 0900. She stood there without making a gesture to help until I asked her if she were serious. I then stated that I wanted to mail a package with service that could deliver in three days. She responded that Priority Mail would be recommended, "but not with that tape on the box." I wasnt aware that the post office only accepts clear or Priority Mail tape. My mistake, but her attitude was appalling. I asked to speak with her supervisor. The supervisor presented a few minutes after my transaction. She was equally disengaged and stated that her coworker explained "her side of the story first." She acknowledged that the comment about opening time needed to be addressed and then scolded me about the USPS regulations regarding paper tape. I wasnt disputing the policy, only the rude manner in which I was informed. The supervisor stated that I was being "aggressive" and needed to calm down. I informed her of this post offices well publicized poor reputation and suggested that they address their approach to customer service. Unbelievable.

They absolutely should not even get a one star. Ive had quite a few encounters with them regarding packages to be delivered & if they cant get it in the mailbox, they can not seem to get out of their mail truck & bring it up on your porch. When tracking a package it will show PTC USPS accepted the delivery from FedEx, then post the package out on truck to be delivered, but will drive around for 3-5 days in the truck b/c they are too lazy to walk it up to the porch!! Or you wait until someone with some "work ethics" that will finally take some initiative to do the right thing! When you inquire about it, the same thing "out to be delivered today". Also Ive been told in the past "you have to come in to get it, b/c it wont fit in the mailbox". Seriously? This is unacceptable that certain businesses are choosing to pay for services for their products to be shipped "FedEx Smartpost" who in turn use the USPS in partnership to deliver the package. PTC USPS has a terrible service record. There are very few that understand what the job of delivering mail entails. And when you call they are no help & often rude, if you arent forgotten being on "eternal hold". It hasnt always been like this with them, Ive been in PTC 30 yrs. & its sad to see this happening.

this place is terrible. i went in there one time to question where my mail was. the post man, all on his own decided my residence was vacant, and stopped sending my mail there. i was in the process of closing on my house, the forwarding wasnt to take place for another month. but all on his own he decided he would just put a vacant sign in my box! - then when i confronted them, one of the black ladies at the counter wasnt willing to listen to what was happening, and quickly got someone else, she seemed to not know anything. So the second black lady comes out, much older. and i explained to her all over again what was going on, and that i had important mail i needed and it was urgent. She looked with a dumb look on her face at me, and the lady next to her said you should just slap her. my daughter was with me, so i pretended not to hear her rude remarks. and tried to be patient. then my daughter said mom, did you hear what she said..... SO i addressed it with the two ladies, and they began to act ignorant like they didnt know what i was talking about. I ended up reporting them both to their manager, but I still see the same two idiots there at the counter.

Mailed two packages, weeks apart, both were lost once in the hands of the PTC location. Fortunately, both insured and the PO made good on reimbursement. That being said, it should never have happened. ITs THE POST OFFICE...you expect better. Needless to say, I now ship with FedEx or UPS without ever a problem. Something to be said about privatization. Another incident. My wife was expecting a package and works from home. She was tracking it. She checked the tracking, and it showed, delivery attempt made. She NEVER heard the door bell, nor saw the mail person, and her office faces the front walkway. She had last checked the tracking info within 5 minutes of the delivery attempt made posting. Very obvious, no attempt ever made. We both assume it was late (6PM), and it was easier to not show up and have us go to the PO next day for pickup. My wife went to the PO for pickup, and was asked for a delivery notification slip that should have been left at the door or box..NEVER RECEIVED ONE...what a joke the PO service has become

The other day the post office misplaced my package they told me that Id have to call the next day to see if they could find it. I replied okay Ill be back in tomorrow and the employees response was no dont come back call. Okay well thats a bad way to start off but lets move on to day 2 I called and they still couldnt find my package so they took down my name and number and said they would call back. Mark called me back and he found the package he actually was helpful which made me feel a bit better until I had to go back to pick it up. So I get there and stand in the pick up line only to be told that there is no special person to help me so go stand in the other line.... okay well I go stand in the other line only to get to the cashier who told me to go back to the same place I went to in the first place. So I wait for my turn for the 3rd time now and once the women who told me to stand in the other line saw me she says "oh its you". Long story but seriously learn some manners and customer service please.

I have had a manager or supervisor named Mark, a short black male that wears glasses whom has the ABSOLUTE WORST attitude and service! He is also very incompetent with USPS shipping procedures. He does not know how it works at all! I have had a box that hasnt been shipped to the proper place and this idiot goes on my phone to the website of the usps to intercept my box and tells me to pick it up the next day. I come in and its not there. I am pissed! I tell him that he is the one whom informed me to do so and he tells me to get of his post office and Since I understood to come back to get my box dont come back his post office. What and who hired him????? This post office is trash and will hopefully close as of yesterday or get some people who are people oriented and can appreciate working in a day like this. I would give it no stars but google will not allow you
