I am a foster parent and have my six year old foster son enrolled with New Era Daycare in Powder Springs, Georgia. My foster childs subsidized childcare (CAPS) apparently expired, but the daycare did not inform anyone of this. This afternoon, three hours before school dismissal, the daycare owner called me screaming that he had not been paid for four weeks and that he will not work without being paid. I explained that we had no knowledge of this and that it wasnt supposed to expire until December. I told the owner that I would call the case worker immediately and get the CAPS sorted out and assured him that he would be paid in full. He proceeded to say that he will not be picking up my child from school today and he doesnt care if he sits there all night by himself, despite me explaining that I could not get out of work early with no notice and then he then called me an assortment of names and expletives as I hung up the phone. We have also picked our child up in his summer program and a young middle school or high school student named CJ was left alone with the entire room full of students with no adult supervision. After this incident, we did not bring our child back for the remainder of the summer. As a concerned parent, I felt that it was essential that I communicated the danger of this child care facility with other parents. He is unstable and abusive and doesnt care about the children.

I have had nothing but great experiences with New Era Learning Center. The Staff was always nice and friendly, and it was evident when my child came home that she was learning in the duration of the day. I have referred many of my friends to this daycare, and they all have had no complaints. I also love how the daycare stays open till 7:00 instead of the normal 6:00 for other daycares. This conveniently fits into my schedule. I rarely write reviews, but this is a daycare I am obliged to commend.
