I love this gym. I have been a member of many gyms, and this place is just a cut above anything else on the market in my opinion. As weve had children, the value has increased, due to the excellent childcare. Here are the things we value (we have a family membership): 1. The hours - 4am to 12pm every day. This means that I (dad) can get up and go get in a workout before the day starts. I am back home and ready to go (either work or family) before the day gets crazy and I may/may not be able to go. No other gyms have hours like this. 2. The childcare - we are very particular about this. We have a 3 YO and a 7 month old, and wed tried everyone else in the area and just had not found anything we liked. This meant trading off (2 on 1) to get in exercise, which kind of sucks. Chews up your weekend if you want to both go on both days, which we just wouldnt do. Now we can drop kids, get in exercise, and then do a family swim. Additionally on this point, Ive seen the same people working every time Ive been in here, and they are kind / nurturing, and do not frown upon specific requests (they are the opposite - eager to help and are encouraging). This being consistent was important to us. 3. The classes are great. I am not a class person and my wife goaded me into going to one. Needless to say, the quality of the workout is higher than something I could produce on my own during that same amount of time. This is great with little kids - very efficient. The classes also regularly start at 6am, so again, I can get in quality exercise before the day starts. 4. The pool - zero entry for kids. Super nice for our little ones - they really enjoy this. Lap pool is kept cold, which is perfect for lap swimming, and the family pool is noticeably warmer. We are also going to try out the swimming lessons after seeing them done. The instruction looks quality. 5. General quality and cleanliness of the facility - I have no complaints here. The locker room will get busy at peak times, but they clean everything every hour. Ive never had an issue with anything being messy, unclean, etc. You will see some people complaining about this and it just hasnt been my experience. I am objective and if this was poor, Id state it. 6. The app & cafe - so easy to order food on your way out, and the choices are healthy. I had a self-modified smoothie turn out poorly the other day and the cafe was super cool about it. No problem...we can remake it, heres a tip of what would be good in that, etc. Like the childcare, its the same guys back there. Tells you something about how LT treats their people, hopefully. The only downside Ive found is that some of the lockers are broken. Ive loaded up a locker and had it not lock a few times now on a few different trips, so I try to remember to test them before loading. The last point Id make is that health / wellness is important in our family. Neither of us are buff people. Were an average jane/joe couple, yet we prioritize health in our budget. To me the $ spent is money well spent. However, if you are coming from $25-50/m (think LA fitness, YMCA, etc), it may be a bit costly. Again, with the childcare, this is moot for us. No brainer as nothing else in Atlanta even comes close. Edit: I just re-read a lot of the negative reviews and feel that I disagree with most of them. I see a mix of a few valid issues (people had a challenge in an area with a bday party, or cutting through family locker room to get to pool), but the comments about poor customer service, a staff that doesnt care, or a facility that isnt clean couldnt be further from the truth. Ive been a member of 3-4 gyms in the area that LT smokes the competition in these areas.

Life Time Sandy Springs, a/k/a Club 100 has improved slightly although cleanliness has taken a nosedive and quite a few of the mens lockers have been inoperable for about a year now and some of the filthy lockers havent been touched in about the same amount of time. I guess times got tough and they hired even cheaper workers. A Tank has been added as well as a few other key pieces, but more TechnoGym should really be here since this is a Diamond Club. Even Platinum Clubs in Texas and North Carolina have a better spread of equipment than Sandy Springs! Honestly, if youre familiar with Concourse Athletic, then youll understand the original equipment selection--it was to directly mirror and compete (albeit slightly) with them. Energy at this club is still extremely low, but not as bad as it used to be. I still feel like Im an Energizer Bunny compared to the 263 year olds meandering around. As for the free training session you get when signing up; use it carefully because 50% of the session will be a guilt trip as to why you MUST purchase a 10 or 20 pack of sessions. Id never use them because I know how they operate. If you honestly NEED guidance, then buy five sessions and then fly solo. My updated review and higher rating is, in part, attributed to three former employees at this location that were directly interfering with my membership. Mysteriously, they all found it quite difficult to live in Georgia after doing that. Ive been asked by another person (review is under this one) to comment on the staff at this location. In short, they are inept at best. I just steer clear of them. As for crime on the property, it is a fact of life living just on the edge of The Perimeter. Property crime is quite high in this area as trash commute up from the citys armpits and break into peoples cars (even with nothing inside of value and/or visible) and also break into peoples lockers. NEVER LET SOMEONE SEE YOUR LOCKER COMBINATION AS YOURE ENTERING IT OR FORGET TO SCRAMBLE YOUR COMBINATION EACH TIME YOU OPEN THE LOCKER!!! Im finished with this club as my primary club; Im moving to greener pastures without all the trashy people that use the facility for free and their resulting property crime.

Simply the best gym experience in Atlanta. Lifetime is The TOTAL package! This place has it ALL! After a pretty serious break up and seeking to start a new life with a kid in tow, I needed a gym that was kid friendly and that offered the training and support that I would need to get back on my feet while also providing a haven for my 4 year old son to come and play and learn while I got my personal fitness goals back in check. Ben Dubin, the general manager at the Sandy Springs location has provided me with service of a true professional and helped me get started with some of the best trainers Atlanta has to offer, working out on the best equipment money can buy. The staff that he has created up there promote such a positive and friendly non-judgmental atmosphere regardless of your level of development or your fitness needs and are capable of delivering an experience like no other. I know many of you look at the cost of membership at Lifetime compared with other gym memberships it seems kind of pricey, but let me point out the value of having a child care center that has learning & gaming programs and athletic activities, and a pool & spa for after workout play, the most amazing steam room, and the best part is the locker/shower room cleanliness (even clean towels and toiletries) that none of the others even come close to offering! Plus the staff here makes it much easier to recoup some of the expense by offering you so many promotional giveaways, sign up and referral rewards, and bonuses when you meet your fitness goals or compete in various programs & boot camps. As a 33 year native resident of Atlanta, Ive tried most of the gym memberships offered locally and I can truly say that nothing beats this place when you are serious about your work out and you wont settle for anything but the best!
