UPDATE: 6/27/2017: I am not able to post another review so i am editing this one...I had to call D&R again due to an electrical issue...I had 2 wires that got wet and started to pop and smoke..I called Rich again and he sent Shawn out IMMEDIATELY! Shawn repaired the wires and explained what happened. I am soooo grateful for the fast response and the care they took at my home. Without Rich and his technician i believe we wouldve had a fire that couldve been life threatening. i know that D&R does a lot for the community including the play area at the mall and participating in other charities. I am extremely impressed with this company and how fast they responded to my needs and how they made sure to clean everything up when they were done. I also want to mention the customer service. Richard went out of his way to help us to make sure we were safe especially since we live in a mobile home. Rich even called me this morning to make sure everything was still working okay. The care this company shows is above and beyond what i expected. Thank you Rich & Shawn. I appreciate everything you have done for us and I will definitely be calling you again with any needs i have. 6/24/2017: Im rating D&R with 5 stars...I had a water leak near the water heater and our central air stopped working in the same day! I called Rich late In The evening and he answered...he listened to my issues and explained to me how to turn off all the water so the leak would stop and so my water bill wouldnt go sky high..he even offered to come turn the water off for me... one of his technicians (Shawn) came out early the next day and realized he needed extra parts to do the central air..he explained everything to me and showed me what he needed to do..he went and got parts, came back and fixed all our problems. Rich was very helpful and knowledgeable...Shawn was very informative and quick to fix our issues. The best thing is that Richard quoted me an estimate and in the end it was a little less..I cannot thank Rich and Shawn enough for helping out so quickly and being so nice!! I would recommend D&R to any and everyone I know!!! Thank you again!

Im honestly surprised by all the good reviews, and wish I would have had the same kind of service. The way the owner talks down to people is horrific!! Or maybe he just talks to women the way he spoke to me. Did not take my concerns serious, and I was interrupted many times. Also told issues with our AC were fixed when I tried explaining that they werent. We had some issues going on with our house that sill never got fixed, and each time he came out he kept telling us we should be lucky that he isnt charging us again... even though it wasnt fixed correctly the 1st time. On the last appointment we had set up they called to say they would be late, and then just never showed up.. Didnt return our phone calls that night, and then called us several times the next day wanting to come right then. However, we where both at work now; the previous day when we had our appointment my husband had taken off work. They ended up coming out after my husband got off work, and they replaced the thermostat. However, they tried to say it wasnt covered under our warranty, but it was. We had all the paperwork proving that it was covered. Every time I talked to the owner on the phone I was given so much BS that I couldnt even stand it, and finally had to tell him that he would be dealing with just my husband from now on. I couldnt stand the way he talked to me. A few days later after the thermostat was replaced our AC completely stopped working. Called the home warranty company explained what had been going on, and they were so sorry about what had happened. They called another company here in Bloomington who was in and out of my house in 30 min with our AC issue completely fixed. The home warranty company felt so bad that they paid for the new companies Diagnostic fee. I would just suggest calling around to other companies when looking for repairs... You can tell who the good ones are in town by how the phone is answered.

UPDATE: Richard, the owner of this company, contacted me personally to talk about this incident. We eventually resolved the issues and he asked me to try him again in the future for any needs to give his company a chance to sway my mind. I did. He went above and beyond my expectations. He and his employees took care of my drain problem, fixed a larger problem, repaired damage that was done to my home (free of charge), and met me halfway on pricing. Richard is an outstanding professional and takes his business very seriously. He couldnt be friendlier and more helpful. I hope I never have to call him again, but if I do unfortunately have more plumbing incidents, he will get my business. THANK YOU! **************** I own a house that I rent out to a single mother of two in Normal. On a rainy Friday night, my tenant called me saying water had cracked the floor and was coming into the basement and going out through the floor drain. She said she had used these guys before and liked them so I let her call them again. They came by, confirmed that the water was coming in through the floor, checked the basement for a sump pump (I obviously knew I didnt have one), then demanded payment before they left. After an hour of wandering around and "consulting" they charged my tenant $255. Any plumber that gets $255 an hour to look at things and talk a lot DOES NOT get my stamp of approval. There are plenty of plumbers in Normal. Call someone else.

My water heater when it quit working so based on reviews I called up D&R. They took one look with the panel on and said the pilot light is out. Must be wind. They re-lit my pilot light, said if it happens again I need a thermo coupler, but it was probably just the wind. Then stated that will be $150. All of 5 minutes of their time. Once they left, within 10-15 minutes, the pilot light was out again. I called my buddy and he came over after work. We took the panel off the water heater, took the heating pan out and it was so dirty it wouldnt stay lit due to rust falling from the tank and enabling the pilot light/thermo coupler to work. We cleaned it good with a vacuum, and it works now with no problem. Before you think this is negative, please........READ ON.... Now with reading that, you might wonder why 5 stars? and not 1 star? Well, Richard the owner called me and made it right. He was very helpful, very professional, listen to the issue and went as far as making things right on the bill. He said he would use this as a learning tool to educate his guys, appreciated my time, business, and honest feedback. Would I use this company again...YES!! Especially after a call making it right. Would I recommend D&R...YES!!! Very professional and did the right thing. Not about money, about service and this was stressed by Richard. Very much appreciated. Stand up Company!! More companies should take note!
