I saw their service man at someone elses house. He was to be there at 8am. We had gone to breakfast and were hurrying back for that appointment. There he was! 8am sharp! I was there and heard the conversation...as the service man told the customer exactly what he was doing. He checked the various parts before installing them to make sure they were good and not faulty. How many people do that???? He also was courteous, made sure his feet were covered, and I was very impressed. As a result of being a witness to that, I have Althoff as my service company now. They have installed a new furnace, air conditioner, did revamping of duct work, they service my whole house generator, and their customer service department is absolutely tops. Call to set things up. Reminders of appointments. They call if the tech is going to be late. Honestly, I have nothing but praises for this company. It was my loss that I thought all they did were the big, power lines and towers you see across the fields when driving. Never knew they did homes! I strongly recommend this company!

Greg was the technician who came and sealed the lids on my sump pump and replaced corroded joints on some pipes. He explained the problems and what the remedy would be. When he was done he showed me what he did and explained it. He was friendly, completed the job very quickly, and extremely professional. Tina in the office was the person who answered my call. She was VERY pleasant because I was trying to contact a different business and misdialed. I dialed again and was again connected to Altoff Industries. The number for the business I was trying to contact was listed incorrectly online. I was looking for a plumber and when Tina explained that Althoff could help me, I made the appointment. Althoff industries continues to impress after 15 years of service since installing our complex, multi-zone HVAC system which they retrofitted into our hundred year old house, and which continues to run flawlessly. Tina and others in the front office are unfailingly willing to go the extra mile to accommodate scheduling requests and are a pleasure to deal with. Will G has been maintaining our system for at least the last 10 years. He is highly experienced, always cheerful and has anticipated problems before they occur. I cant say enough good things about him. From design and installation of our system through ongoing maintenance, I would go nowhere else, and we live at the other end of Chicagoland from their location.

Very disappointed. Based on the reviews I had great hopes. Scheduled the appointment and was told I would receive a courtesy call 30 minutes before our 3:00PM to 5:00PM appointment. No call ever received and nobody showed up during the scheduled window. I took 2 1/2 hours off of work to make sure I was at home for the appointment. Sitting at the dinner table with my family at 6:00PM and the doorbell rings, its somebody from Althoff that seems unhappy that I am now having dinner with my family and not interested to drop everything for him.

I knew of Althoffs excellent reputation when I purchased my new furnace and air five years ago. I recently needed warranty work done on my five year old furnace, two technicians spent 8+ hours replacing parts in my furnace, my cost? ZERO, ZIP, NOTHING! I literally had almost my entire high efficiency furnace rebuilt, where can you get service like that now days? Althoff technicians are highly trained professionals, if you want to purchase your next HVAC system from the best call Althoff!

This company initially did a great job acknowledging my request for a site visit to my home. A Mr. Brix showed up, walked through my home and said that he would be back in touch. Three days later and three phone calls to Althoff and nothing... No return call, no estimate, not even a note saying that we are too busy to handle this repair. I would not recommend this Contractor for home use, they clearly are interested in servicing Commercial/Industrial before their local residents.

We have dealt with Altoff for many years and continue to appreciate their excellent service. Recently, we had a leak in our downstairs ceiling, and thanks to the technicians excellent skills, he (Max) was able to determine its source with minimum invasive work. Thanks to him, a small mold problem was discovered that could be more easily remedied now rather than months or years later when it would have been much worse!

In the past four months Althoff personnel have installed a new furnace and A/C, checked out a strange odor, and installed a new sump pump AND battery back-up sump pump. All jobs have been performed by courteous professionals who arrive in a timely manner and who know what they are doing.
