If I could give Rocks Electric a minus five stars, I would! The owner is a crook!! No doubt he paid for his good reviews. We had just moved from Arizona to Chicago. He comes to your home and lies about the wiring of all your electrical outlets. Each of the light fixtures, according to him, had to be completely rewired. We found out after the fact that he lied and hung around for hours (we finally left to go to an appointment) but left our camera on. Guess what? He left for a while too and of course, never said anything. So when we returned and found out he also took off a wall medicine cabinet to rewire a light he didnt have to do, he removed some of the plaster, which had to be professionally replaced. And this guy, had the audacity to send us an additional bill for $200.00. When I left a voicemail to tell him we were on to him and that he shouldnt waste his time sending additional bills because now he owed us, I never heard from him again. Just beware of Rocks Electric. He will tell you lies just to make more money. He will take advantage of you if youre not electrical. There are plenty of good electricians in Chicago. Dont call ROCKS.

My post-war chicago ranch had an old-fashioned fuse box and underpowered service. Various circuits had been added and modified by handymen and diy-ers and it was kind of a mess. Tom was friendly and helpful in figuring out what needed to be fixed, what could be removed, and what needed to be added to suit our plans. Rocks Electric replaced the fuse box with a breaker panel, added circuits and replaced old 2-pronged outlets with grounded outlets and GFI outlets as necessary. Outside they made the meter and service connection ready for the power company to come in and run the new line from the pole, and then coordinated afterward to make sure the power companys responsibility for the upgrade was completed. This was good work on a rather big job, done in just a few days. They got all the permits and passed the inspections. I have nothing but good things to say.

I typically do not write reviews but wanted to praise the outstanding service of Rocks Electric. I had a few fixtures that I needed hung and the whole process was so easy! I called the office and they were out the next day and fit it around my busy schedule. The tech that came out was on time, clean, and professional. Most importantly, the work he did was flawless. I would HIGHLY recommend Rocks Electric for any type of electrical project.
