My mother in laws HORRIBLE experience: I took my 2 1/2 year old. When I made the appointment I told them he wasnt fond of getting his haircut and to please put us with someone patient. They schedule us with Kayla. She was very rude and bossy and had absolutely no patience. He was spinning the car wheel and BARELY moving his head when she demanded to put a movie on for him (sorry we dont plug him into a screen). She was very slow, so by the time she was ready to use the scissors he would turn his head and she would get mad and snap at me that if he doesnt sit still she wouldnt cut his hair. She didnt use a cape and when she expected me to hold him she didnt offer me one so we both ended up covered in hair. After she was done with the clippers she said thats it, Im done, handed me a towel and left. She didnt even try to clean up around his neck or ears. His haircut was awful. When I went to pay, she was no where to be found. Guess she was afraid I would ask her to finish the haircut. Would not recommend going here for young kids who cant sit completely still. By the way, the hair stylist we normally take him to never has an issue cutting his hair and he doesnt sit completely still for her either. Very disappointed!

I made a same day appt with them and they took my name down no problem, super easy. It was too easy and I should have known but I was so excited to get an appt that quick! When I arrived they looked annoyed and concerned and wrote my name down on a waiting list under what looked like 3-4 people. They found my name in the appt book but apprently they have two kinds of appts? "One with an actual stylist and one where they just write your name down". That is word for word what they told me. I asked how long and she said 45 minutues which sounded optimistic, it probably wouldve been over an hr wait. I asked why they took my appt and she just reiterated their two different appt types which made absolutely no sense to me. Her solution was to reschedule me for a different day? I live 20 min away and this wasted an hour of my time. I work fulltime and this was difficult time to give up. Busy Moms I think you can relate to that! I am upset about wasting my time. The lady basically blamed me for not providing my phone number but I didnt get asked for it either and I honestly didnt think anything of it. Maybe I should have offered but I was rushing during my lunch break and I just wasnt thinking. Very unplesant experience.

Recently, I went to Regency in Crystal Lake to get highlights that resulted in them bleaching my entire head and leaving me with a disaster they refused to even attempt to fix. In a panic, I showed up to Clip Joynt without an appointment and with an extremely messy hair situation. I didnt think they would be able to get me in, as it was about 5 pm they had many other clients that also had appointments. They got me in right a way and were very professional and personable! I completely trusted them with my hair! Not only did they fix what Regency had done to my hair, they managed to help repair some of the damage and my hair looked and felt great. I was anticipating a hefty bill, but they were very reasonable! A few days later, I even received a card from them thanking me for coming in. I will continue to frequent Clip Joynt and recommend them to my friends. Jen was my stylist. I was extremely pleased with her and the rest of the staff that all contributed to restoring my hair!

I have icky hair - fine, flyaway. I always look for a stylist who has been in the business for a while. I called here, asked if I could make an appt w a stylist who has been in the business for at least ten years, they sd yes. When I came in, they assigned me to a very young girl who rolled here eyes when I told her what my concerns were as far as shape, texture, style. she called another stylist over who asked, "whats your problem?" She was cold and curt. I was embarrassed by this time and pretty sure I wouldnt get a great cut because they were annoyed already. The staff here seems to be easily annoyed - I wonder if theyre overbooked and feeling too tired? Anyway, this isnt the place for me. I went to another salon that day, asked the same questions and expressed the same concerns. They couldnt have been nicer, and my hair ended up looking terrific. Ladies, listen to your customers!

I use to love going to this place for the last 4 years!! But lately it has been horrible. The receptionist is very rude!!!! If you are a new client Deborah WILL NOT help you, she stood right in front and took other clients that came in after me because she didnt want to do a partial! Dont bother calling because hey dont like to answer and when they do they sound irritated! I use to go to Kristen, good luck going when she is there. All I have to say is dont bother!!! They act as if you are a waste of their time, so dont waste yours!!!!

I was very worried about how my almost two year old would react to her first haircut (she hates when I brush her hair). We went a little early to acclimate; they have a few toys and were very welcoming. Katherine was so sweet to my toddler and did a great job! My toddler loved having her hair cut and Im grateful for a positive first experience to build on. Thanks Clip Joynt and Katherine!

Stephanie does exactly what I want with my cut and color. I like being blond in the summer, and do balayage in the winter. She helps me so that my cut and color is lower maintenance, for work, and my two young children. My three year old also loves getting her hair cut there too! She goes to whoever is available, and they have all been great with her and her inability to sit still!
