I had been getting my hair cut by the same stylist in Manhattan for about 15 years and then suddenly a few months ago he moves to Queens. I have always lived in Jersey City, but worked in Manhattan, so it was super easy to get my hair cut during the day while on my lunch. I now had to find a new person to cut my hair and figured I needed to look for places locally when I was out walking my dog after work. I didn’t recall seeing any places of interest on my usual dog-walking route, so I walked south of the Grove Street PATH instead of my usual north a few months back and stumbled upon POSH Hair Studio about a 5 minute walk away. I saw a guy getting a haircut there by a male stylist so I grabbed a pamphlet about the salon as I walked by and called for an appointment when I got home. I wasn’t sure what to expect because I hadn’t let anyone different cut my hair in 15 years. Turns out I loved it! The haircut was excellent (just as good as my NYC stylist), the price was less than half what I was paying in NYC and the salon was only a 5 minute walk from my apartment. I’ve gone to POSH three times now over the past three months and don’t see any reason why I won’t continue to do so for many years to come.

By far the WORST and POOREST coloring and customer service I have ever received. I cannot recommend this place to anyone with a good heart. The business owner Hector insulted me and called me "crazy" to my face when I went back to ask for refund. The highlight was way too bright. I paid $150 and $30 tip for a full-highlight (please note that over the phone when I made the appointment, I was told the coloring would cost $75). The salon was lit dimly in front of the mirror, and under the dim light, the highlight looked ok. Looked absolutely horrendous under regular lighting. I ran to Target to get a dark brown hair dye on the same night at 11pm. I only kept the color for 5hours. After work the following day, I contacted the salon to see if I could have any fee reimbursed, the business owner Hector not only rudely refused to reimburse any fee, he dared to call me "crazy" to my face and told me to dispute the charges with my bank. A NIGHTMARE experience for me not only what it did to my hair but for the personal insult I received when I tried to resolve the matter in good faith. Please rethink before going to this place. There are reviews with one star that are recounting the similar stories.

This is my first and last time using Posh. I had a bad feeling when the stylist was running behind, and I waited 30 minutes past my appointment time to get started. I got a cut and highlights, and when I got home I realized that my blonde hair had a pink tint. I called the next morning to complain, and they told me to come back in to fix the color. When I arrived, everyone who works there was telling me "how good my color looks" although I was clearly unhappy and there for a correction. I became increasingly upset that no one seemed to be taking my complaint seriously, and then the stylist told me that he did not want to use that color glaze in the first place. Should he not be asking what can be done to resolve this problem instead of blaming me for a decision I did not even make? I was not thrilled with the second glaze but had lost all trust at that point and couldnt get out of there fast enough.

There is an "Art of the Trade" that can be applied in any skill set or career choice, and Hector is at the Master level when it comes to being a stylist. He has been styling my hair for years and the only person I trust when it comes to color and cut. He is totally in command and control of what he does and intuitively knows what looks best for his clients. The salon itself is fabulous and Hector and his staff make the atmosphere fun and treat you like family. I get more compliments on my hair, particularly the color. That is not easy to find...someone who gets it right, makes the color look natural using only top-quality products. If I could vote for 10 stars on this review, I would.

Never again. I had a spa manicure and waited almost 20 mins to be acknowledged. Once I was led to the manicure station I selected a color and had to wait an additional 10 mins to get service. They were short staffed and the aesthetician kept leaving me to help other customers (i.e wash hair, or take payments). They had 1 girl running around, but the stylists that didnt have customers btw just stood there. The girl that did my manicure was very nice, as well as the gentleman that greeted me when I arrived. I will never return because 90 mins for a basic manicure and sugar scrub is way too long.

I recently got a haircut that I was unsatisfied with in Tribeca. I was referred to Hector after the fact and happily trekked the short PATH ride to Jersey City to meet with him. He was thrilled to learn of my curly hair and talked with me for a good 10 minutes before he even lifted his shears, taking note of my inspiration photos. The salon was vibrant and friendly with lovely staff. Hector clearly knows his stuff and cut into my curly hair, making perfect layers. Im thrilled with the mid length result and will definitely go back.

Im visiting from LA and this salon was the closest to where Im staying. i wanted to get a blow dry so checked yelp reviews 1st.. i have naturally curly hair and sometimes its hard for pro hairstylists to keep my hair frizz free after the blow dry with no other heating tools (flat iron/curler) 1st they took me as a walk in (bonus points) 2nd i have to say the ladies at this salon were super nice and gave me a great blowout that didnt frizz up! i love it and will return for another one before i leave!

After a long odyssey of looking for (finding) a creative and professional hairdresser I finally met Hector at Posh Hair Salon. He truly knows his profession and was able to please my needs. I will definitely come back. Great service and super friendly staff and a lovely ambience. Having a manicure while enjoying a haircut was the icing on top. Loved it. Glad to know that those guys are out there... Thumbs up.

I cant express enough, what a FABULOUS and AMAZING job Bernado did with my hair. A hair crafter at his best. Plus everyone who I encountered working here were friendly and not obnoxious. Easily accessible through public transportation. They are also DEVA trained and certified for all of you with curly hair.
