When my 4 year old was born we toured all of the daycare centers in Downers Grove. We chose Little People because we liked the organized structure and curriculumn they have in place. Some of the other centers didnt have a curriculumn in place fore the younger kids. My olders has been there for 4 years and he loves it. Our 7 month old also now attends. The owner hires great teachers and the lead teachers in each room stay for a long time. It makes the transitions from room to room easy on the kids as they already know the teachers. They care about the development of each individual child and will always meet with the parents to disucss any issues / concerns with regard to the child. Our son has always loved his teachers and is excited to talk about his day when he gets home. The location from a convinence stand point cant be beat (im a train commuter). The cons - dont be put off by the appearance on the outside - you cant judge a book by its cover. Other than that I cant think of anything - my kids are happy, well taken care of, taught appropriate manners, etc. The play area and classrooms seem a bit small - but if you are there when all the kids are in school you will see they have plenty of room and my son has never complained about the playground or classrooms being too small.

Other than Kindercares, the selection of daycare centers in Downers Grove is very limited. We almost did not visit this place because the outside is old and ugly, and it is located in a sad little strip of stores. However, once we got inside, we were very impressed with the director, assistant director and teachers. They try hard to make a great environment for the kids, and our little one seems to likes it at Little People. He comes home with no diaper rash and washed hands--seems rare from our prior experiences! I disagree about the other review-in my opinion, this place is not at all about making money. They could charge more given their hours and location. The outside play area is not very large and has no grass, but that is more a function of the location and building space. The teachers seemed more experienced and stayed longer than most of the other places we visited. Some of the college kids that help out really seem to have fun with the kids, and bring lots of energy. So far, we like it here.

Our son has been going to the DG location since I went back to work, which is almost 1 1/2 years ago. This place is great! Please do not judge a book by its cover, as at first we were skeptical because of the outside appearance. The staff is so amazing. They care a lot about the children and my son really enjoys it here. I never worry when I drop him off. We have had only positive experiences at Little People and I highly recommend it to all my friends.
