i am a 32 year old man now. but i do remember the experience of being a 4 year old child at magic building blocks when they were located on 50 not far from schnucks. im not going to get into alot of detail about everything because i have very little memories about that place being so young then. i do remember some of the staff back then used duct tape on our mouths to keep us quiet. i remember sitting with my mouth taped shut and not crying or anything but looking around at some of the other boys screaming with their mouths taped shut.i never gave it any thought until i was a teenager and i told my family. my sister called them to try to figure out what had happened.they gave her the run around and denied everything. maybe there was some bad teens working for them or something else. i do know i learned to tie my shoes waiting for my mom to get there because one of the ladies was so caring. sometimes i have a drink and think about things in my life and when i go back to it the earliest ones i have is watching other boys crying their eyes out with duct tape on their mouths. im sure things have changed today but i still cant help but think if one of us would had said something that place wouldnt be there anymore. i will put my word on this my name is scott conklin and this had bothered me for years. i want to add as a father now i would not put my children in the hands of these people. anyone who would allow something like this to happen should not be alloud to own operate or have anything to do with child care. i regret that some of the most earliest memories of my life are thoughts of me and my childhood friends being bound because someone couldnt take care of us.and for some reason this daycare prospers? why should anyone who duct tapts a childs mouth be able to have a day care, let alone make money from it. i will never forget the abuse that was laid apon me at this place. no child should should ever have their mouths taped shut. i put my word on this and this is something that has followed my my entire life. my earliest memories should not be me being bound or looking at my friends screamimg with duct tape on their mouths. thanks magic building block for giving me a lifetime memory of abuse as a child.

The staff here is excellent and well trained, they are gentle with the children and do all that they can to make sure that each child is healthy, happy and well educated. Ive recently come across a review that was way out of line, maybe back in the old days it was that horrible for that one person, but today, it is a wonderful place to take your children for their childcare needs. Its under different management so the difference between what that person experienced and now is very different, its a very good place. The kids learn here and they make really good friends, your child would never be neglected or mistreated here.

This is hands down the BEST daycare I have ever sent my child to. We are moving back to Pittsburgh soon, and I wish we could take them with us! My son (now 2 1/2) has been attending Magic for more than a year and he is always so excited to go to school. They are very clean and serve healthy meals and snacks. They also really help the children improve on their cognitive and fine motor skills through lots of activities and play. I would recommend this to anyone, as their quality is outstanding and their prices cant be beat.

We love Magic Building Block! We feel that developmentally they give the children the tools to succeed! Theres plenty of room to run and play and learn from their little friends as well as the kind and caring teachers. Theres an obvious attention to detail and the environment is always bright and cheery with artwork done by the children to match the season or holiday. A fantastic find!
