it seems like more and more barber shops just completely disregard new customers and are content with the ones they already have so they completely ignore people who havent been there before/made an appointment. this barbershop is definitely in that category. i had once visited before because this is one of the closest shops to me but upon entering and waiting for an hour plus (i understand others may have made appointments) i left without a haircut. then i heard lots of friends say good things about the place so i thought id give it another chance. i had a similar experience again. i have a feeling that many of these reviews may just be the returning customers and that customers that do not regularly go here are often left neglected at this shop. i cant respond to the owners response so i have instead edited my post but i have no idea who you are referring too in your response, i can assure you that my name is not vadim and that i was most respectful both cases i visited your shop. on top of that ive never made any appointments to fades and shaves (as i said in my initial post), perhaps i did exaggerate when i said upwards of an hour but both times i waited it was between half an hour to an hour with no acknowledgement. ive never once stormed off on a business and have always been respectful, ive worked in the retail and service industry myself and am well aware of how easy it is to react with ignorance and anger when not having a full grasp on the situation at hand. all im outlining is my two experiences at the shop and verifying that i was not in the wrong in either instance and am not sure why i am being painted in such a light.

It is an hour after my haircut and shave with Anthony and I am still wiping away blood. During my shave, Anthony pressed very hard with the blade and I experienced a lot of pain, but assumed that since he was a professional that I must be overreacting. However, when Anthony applied the aftershave and it burned like all holy dickens, I knew that something was wrong. Anthony held up a mirror for me to see that my entire neck was red and covered with a pretty good amount of blood in multiple places. It was so careless a job that Anthony wiped away all the blood, said "Naw, its not that bad, see?", held up a mirror, and then continued dabbing away more blood. I have counted over 12 nicks and cuts that cover my entire neck, with some on my upper lip and left cheek. I am leaving this review in the hopes that no-one makes my mistake. Do NOT get a shave from Anthony. As nice of a person as he may have been in conversation, Anthony does not know what he is doing and completely ruined my first professional shave experience. I am leaving a 2-star review instead of the original 1-star I wanted to give because after walking back in, I was refunded my haircut (in addition to not being charged for the shave), resulting in a relatively free visit. Heck, at least they did something right. Edit: In retrospect, Ill change this to 3 stars considering Ive gotten pretty good haircuts here, and I probably shouldnt let one bad experience paint the whole place bad. I would like to return for the haircuts. I think Ill still skip the shave, though.

I have received by far the worst customer service at Fades and Shaves and urge anyone who wishes to have a pleasant experience in getting their haircut to not visit this barbershop. As a regular and loyal customer I was talked to and treated in an extremely derogatory manner by Jon Valerio who refused to cut my hair despite my having an appointment just because his "next customer was already waiting," all after I had driven 45 min to make sure I kept my appt time. For the past 5 or 6 times Ive been the one to be kept waiting by Jon while he finished up with clients and I have patiently accommodated even if that meant staying much later than my scheduled appt time. This time when I asked if I could be helped first since my appt was before the next customer John sarcastically asked if I wanted a "quick 10 min haircut" since thats all he could do while Josh, the owner, listened and turned a deaf ear to the rude way a customer was being treated. I left without getting my hair cut for reasons still unknown to me but whats worse is the waste of time, money, and respect Ive endured on people like John and an atrocious place like Fades and Shaves. IN SHORT: NEVER GOING TO THIS PLACE AGAIN AND WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE ELSE.

Ive been here 5 or 6 times and I highly recommend it. I have never had an unpleasant experience nor seen any other customer having an unpleasant experience. I get my haircut by Josh the owner every time and hes great. Very personable and remembers the way I like my hair cut. The other barbers have been friendly to me every time Ive come in the shop, even though they are usually busy. They run on appointments so I book a few months in advance when I know Ill have an important event or will need a haircut. Ive never had a problem getting in when I need to but if you wait until the last minute theres no guarantee you will get in. Some of the bad reviews seem to be because they dont necessarily have time for walk-ins or people missing their appointed time--well thats their fault. If you want a walk-in hair cut go to great clips.

Used to really like the owner/main barber had consistent good haircuts even before he opened the business. Customer service needs lots of improvements and customer service is terrible, Ive tried numerous times to get a haircut from here and it just seems more impossible each time. I feel like Im not welcome and No customer should feel this way especially a once long term customer the least they could do is want my money but theres seems like a lack of motivation to even keep a barber shop open on saturdays passed noon or if at all please use your haircut money on a barber shop thats more welcoming..

I was visiting my family for the holidays and with the upcoming NYE approaching, needed to find a true barber that could match the skill that my barber in Atlanta has. I found Fades and Shaves online through a Google search. Their website is very honest and truthful about the skills they have, which is displayed through the variety of great work they show in their photos. I selected Jon V. as my barber when I booked, and he has some great skills with fading and line up details. Overall, 5/5 experience and will always return to Fades and Shaves and Jon V. when visiting family back in town.

Ive been coming to Fades and Shaves for almost 2 years now, and I can say with confidence, I consistently get a fantastic cut. My hair is difficult and wavy, but Josh was able to completely change up my look. My hair style was usually the butt of jokes, but now I get compliments from people all the time. You know youve hit the sweet spot when people young, middle aged, and older are all giving you props on your hair. Its a busy shop, so dont expect to be able to get in without a prior appointment. The online booking with Square is easy and the reminders are great. Highly recommended.
