5 stars for several reasons! (Get ready for a novel...) As someone who was brand new to the gym, I really dont have any other place to compare this Midlothian location to... so Ill put that out there ahead of time. Anyways, I went in there on my lunch hour one day and was greeted by Marlo, one of the bubbliest managers I have ever seen. She was very nice and helpful - took the time to listen to my reasons for coming in - didnt push me to join anything - but did give recommendations based on my "sort of" goals. I didnt feel pressured at all. From the start, I knew that I wanted/needed a personal trainer, and Marlo asked my preference of male or female (though all are equally qualified), and with my answer, she assigned me with Ashley B., a wonderful personal trainer. Within 45 minutes, Marlo had the entire process set up and I was able to start my training the next day. Some background on my situation: I didnt have any goals walking in for training... aside from getting more active/fit... but Ashley has worked very hard to push me to my limits. Ive got quite a list of health problems and shes adjusted our sessions around what I physically can and cannot do. Ive shocked myself with the progress Ive made in the last 3 months. There were things that I literally couldnt do at all when I first started, and now I am able to do them quite well and as time goes on, I hope to keep progressing and pushing myself harder. The bottom line: I dont typically write reviews unless I am honestly moved by the quality of my investment. Indeed, gyms and personal trainers arent cheap, but having the right people to help you makes every penny worth it. I highly recommend Ashley for training (they have group classes too which are very fast paced, but Ashley makes it so fun and she applauds your hard efforts) and I also recommend this Midlothian location because of the nice people that work there. Im always greeted with a smile, the staff gets to know the people coming in on a first name basis, and if you forget your headphones like I do sometimes... they always have good music playing so youre all good! :) Overall, a big 5 stars for Midlothian Charter Fitness!! And a million stars for my trainer Ashley B.!!

I use to be a member of the Xsport Fitness Express literally up the street 1.5 miles away in Crestwood, and out of the two, this particular Charter Fitness is superior to this Xsport Fitness Express in-terms of: 1) more elbow room during peak hours (M-Th 430-730) 2) better in both weight training and cardio equipment with lots of TVs to view above 3) a separate stretching area 4) a separate personal training area 5) a larger group fitness area 6) better bathrooms and locker room 7) better parking 8) employees are a "little bit" more professional, not by much To be fair, Xsport Fitness Express in Crestwood general manager (Steve W.) works his but off, he is in the trenches with his employees and their personal trainers are more workout knowledgeable and interactive. In short both are about the same price if you choose the one location membership, so for me this was a no-brainer.

Gym is clean, good equipment ( though i wish they had more for crossfit), the locker rooms are always cold, the lockers are small. Lots of tvs. Water pressure massage beds are one of my favorite parts. Half of the staff is not very professional and kinda rude, though there are some i think are great. The owner of the place pressures a lot and is very rude i think. I think Charter fitness is a decent gym...but I wouldnt recommend the midlothian one to anyone.

Its a pretty good gym, nothing to complain about. Theres enough equipment for anything, the employees are always helpful. Only thing Im not a fan of is the size of the gym itself. Its definitely not small but its no LA Fitness, but you cant help that. And the hours on the weekends absolutely suck, I hate that it closes at 7pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Its a decent gym... Good equipment, clean, spacious. For my preference, it would be nice if there were some heavy bags for kickboxing, but there isnt. One rule they have which I dont like is you cant have your bag with you while you workout... but Ill live. Some of the employees are definitely rude and act like they dont want to be there.

Clean atmosphere. and all employees are very professional and very nice!!! A lot of treadmills and ellipticals. Only complaint the temperature in building is very warm for winter months. Wish for a couple additional items in health club : water fountain water bottle filler and mirrors on wall in back free weight room.

Just started there. Felt very welcomed. Very quick joining process. Excellent work areas. Only bad thing is the hours. The hours suck on Saturday and Sunday. Wish they where open longer.

Your typical gym, tons of treadmills and ellipticals. Biggest complaints would be not enough squat racks (only two) and it gets pretty warm when its busy
