Hi this is Jim owner of Northlake Auto Repair, as soon as I saw Jennifer Bells review I contacted Miss Bell immediately we had a very nice conversation I explained we had no idea she was disappointed with her visit to my shop. I thanked her for taking the time to speak with me I really understand her frustration . I reviewed our invoice and clarified the prices rear brakes cost her 250.00, also had an oil change, and premium lifetime serpintine drive belt installed totaling 412.57 Miss Bells concerns came in over the wiper transmission she did mention she contacted many shops, our estimate on the wiper repair wasnt the highest and not the lowest she was able to get it done but could not recall how much. I believe we made a mistake by assuming it needed the whole wiper assembly and not just one side. It was very icy outside and we had two other wiper transmission jobs that needed the complete assembly. In the future we must take the time to disassemble and inspect closer instead of assume same as previous vehicles. I think the handle broke off the hood cable I agreed to look at it for free if Miss Bell could find time to bring it in, and most likely I will replace it for free. Again we truly apologize Jim PS I could only respond back to this by clicking on the stars and I want my shop to strive to be the best.

I worked at a few different car dealerships for 11 years which leaves me very suspicious of fair business practices of anyone in the automotive industry. I have been going to North Lake Auto since I left the evil auto industry 8 years ago. If I moved to Wisconsin I think Id drive all the way back to let them fix my car. Over the years they have graciously extended me courtesies that amazed me. They had to unexpectedly keep my car over night once and then for my trouble gave me some money off my bill. They have a buy four oil changes and your 5th is free. I was up for my freebie last week but it conflicted with my $15 off manufacturers coupon that would expire before my next oil change so they handed me $15 in cash. Who does that? I have never felt ripped off. In fact, if youre not due for a service quite yet they will tell you you can have it done next time instead of trying to get your money that day. North Lake Auto had exceeded my expectations.

These people are total scam artists! Not only did they charge me almost $ 500 for back break pads and rotors, but quoted me a price of $438 for a wiper transmission which I was able to ultimately get done by another repair shop for half that price, and if that wasnt enough, while doing my oil change they broke the handle that releases the hood of my trunk, which I discovered a few weeks later. They smile in your face all the while robbing you blind! I will never ever take my car here again! Totally ridiculous and greedy!!

Dont waste your time with this shop. The shop is screwed from owner to the employees getting high at work. They are out to get every person that goes in there. And the owner jimmy he is a selfish close minded old dude from the 70s with no clue about being professional and6running the business like one. And the oil changes forget it the customers pay for synthetic and they get the cheapest house brand oil in there cars.

I moved to Illinois in 2009 and have been looking for a repair shop to take my truck to. A co-worker recommended Northlake Auto Repair and I have to say I was not disappointed in the treatment of me or my truck.They did a GREAT job on my clutch and brakes. The prices are very reasonable. The people there are friendly and dare I say honest. Its true. I will be taking my truck there for all of her needs. THANKS GUYS!!!

This place is Shady and terrible I came in for an estimate for a control arm repair and rear brakes they quoted me a price over $1,800.00 I immediately suspected something was totally not right I asked Him to give a print out of the estimate I took the car for a second opinion and got the repairs done for under $500.00 the shop manager is not trust worthy at all STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!

Con artists. They told me I needed four new tires and that it was dangerous for me to be on the road. But I barely drive. Bought car brand new two years ago only has 8000 miles. When I told them I didnt want new tires they said my serpentine belt had dry rotted. Again...8000 miles on my car. They are a criminal enterprise. Stay away.

I took my car for an oil change and found great service. Moreover they did basic inspection on my car such as filters, battery, etc. without charge. They have earned my bussines and I will give them the opportunity to keep me as custumer when mechanical repair needed on any of my 3-vehicles - will update then

I came for an oil change they did a fluid inspection and they told me the car was in good condition the only thing was the bolbs on the license plate were out he said they could do it here for $20 or he said I could go buy them and do it my self and they showed me how. Good service great attitude

They scare their customers saying "youre going to be in a serious accident if we dont fix your car". And when you tell them all you want is an oil change they get mad and say "Why do you even get an oil change if youre not going to fix your car".

dont go here, i took my car in for an oil change and they tighten the bolt to tight and crack the oil pan, and they will not take a fault for it. and there were charging me outrageous price to fix it
