This goes back to the 17th of July, but just getting around to posting. Wow, just wow. $147 for an oil change and tire rotation (albeit with synthetic oil)??? I told him my regular place charges $75 for the same thing. Told him that they had never called to let her know the car was ready; he said he had told her it would be ready at noon, which was not true. My girlfriend also said that it was hard to get anyone to acknowledge her arrival this morning, and it was the same thing just now. Didnt even look over our way and give a just a sec signal or anything. Told him we had called a couple of times to see if it was ready, but the phone went to voicemail. Then he launched into how they were redoing a brake job that was botched by my usual place. I said, hey man, Im just telling you what our customer experience here has been, how Id been going to [my usual place] for 15 years, always a good experience, but wanted to give him a shot because its just a block from the house. Thats when he puts his hands up and says, "Enough! Ive been here 20 years. Take your cars someplace else." Consider it done, Danny. Consider it done.

Danny is the highest quality mechanic I have ever worked with. He is honest, fair, and does high quality work. Moreover, he has an encyclopedic knowledge of cars and the common issues that typically befall them. There is no one else in the entire Chicagoland area I would remotely consider taking my car to. As for the negative reviews below, remember that there are two sides to every story. Danny is no nonsense and I could imagine if you showed a bit of attitude or huffed and puffed hed tell you to leave. He manages the shop, handles phones, and does repairs so yes sometimes you wont always get a call when your car is done and they might not drop what they are doing the second you walk in the door...but your car will be well taken care of.

I bought a used car from here, which was fixed up and sold to me for a really great price. That alone is worth a five-star review! Danny explained everything about the car to me, and gave me tons of advice for upkeep and things like that. Its been serving me great for the couple months that Ive had it, and when I did have a problem (which was my fault), I brought it back here and Danny got it sorted out for an exceptionally fair price. Hes an extremely genuine mechanic and all around great guy who came highly recommended, and has lived up to it. Ive always felt 100% confident when coming in. Fantastic experience here! I started going here after my son had taken his car here. These guys are great!!! Danny takes the time to explain everything he does and genuinely cares about the service that is provided. I had been taking my car to another place for years, and am now going to give my business to Suburban. The guys in the garage are also great. I trust his opinion and advice about work that should be done on my car, and as a woman, trusting the people who do work on my car is very important to me. Very fair pricing. He know his stuff!!! I came in late Wednesday night after what I thought was my muffler blew, Danny lifted my car up only to discover my Catalytic Converter was gone. He called the police, waited and helped me figure out what to do. Also let my car stay there until I got the OK from my insurance to fix it. I could not be more pleased with my experience here, not only did he help me when I had no idea what to do but he stayed there a good hour after they were closed to get everything figured out.

This is not the place to get an inexpensive (nor quick) oil change. But this is the place to go when others have looked at your vehicle and cant figure out the problem. Danny is a skilled auto surgeon with an encyclopedia of knowledge who can diagnosis the most complex of car troubles. Danny is not very good at managing customer expectaions but when it comes to complex troubleshooting and intelligent advice about automobiles, Danny is the best!

Had an appointment to get a quote on an exhaust job this morning. Danny arrived late and when I indicated that I wanted us to figure out what was necessary before accepting the repair he gave me back the keys and told me he wouldnt look at my car and that I should take it elsewhere. Done! Ive always been respectful and courteous with him so his reaction was a big surprise to me. Very rude
