I did a drop in visit in order to determine if I wanted to enroll my son after my maternity leave. The young lady that received me asked if this was my first child and if I was just starting my search. I answered yes to both questions. She took me into one of the infant rooms and explained just a couple things then walked me around 1/2 of the building. I had to ask to see the playgrounds. She did not explain or go over ANYTHING anything except to say that we get brief of how the day went and some photos everyday. That was it. She just kept asking if I had any questions. She took me back to the office and proceeded to close the tour up- asking again if I had any questions- I said that I expected some sort of overview about the school and how it works, details, etc- She said that she doesnt do it that way- she just asks the parent if they have any questions. As I had told her at the beginning, this was my first child and I was just starting my search- how would I know what to ask? Or what I would need to know? I had to ask about their hours, late policy and holiday schedule- she advised that this information is not provided to you in writing until you enroll. She seemed irritated about having to provide me with a tour and rolled her eyes and acted "put out" throughout my visit. I was only there for about 10 mins. Maybe she was having a bad day- or maybe she didnt really care for brown people and rather not have anymore in her school- I dont know but I was shocked at the service. (I noticed there were A LOT less brown children at their facility vs the others I visited) It clearly came across that she was not interested in having my child attend The Goddard School.

Both of my children attend The Goddard School and I cannot say enough about how wonderful of a school it is. My four year old began when she was just a young toddler, and I am simply amazed at how much she has learned. I believe that she is already completely prepared for Kindergarten, and she isnt even half way through Pre-K. Each and every one of the staff and management team has always treated us like family. They are all warm and welcoming and their care for the children really shows. I love that the lead teachers all have education degrees, and that their Directors are always pleasant and available. I would recommend The Goddard School to anyone looking for a high-quality, nurturing and educational environment for their child.

If I had a choice , I would take my son to another daycare. My son has been attending Goddard for a few years now and still is having trouble with writing his name and counting. When he does attempt to write his name, its all in uppercase. Why are they teaching him to write in uppercase format??? This shouldnt be , especially the amount of money Im giving them. No one on one attention given and the staff caring for the children seem more interested in being on their cell phones then caring for the kids. The staff here does not return calls in a timely fashion to parents. Unprofessionals on their part. The director has no idea what she is doing when it comes to running a childcare business!
