I know this is long, but you have to read this to appreciate the service level this company is willing to provide. Well let me start off by saying if you live in Indiana or anywhere near Central Indiana, and you need a Lock Service, this is the place for you. Jim Neighbors is the owner, and this man is extremely knowledgeable and a real pro! I had a Jeep Cherokee key that needed to be replaced. My son was in college at Indiana University in Bloomington Indiana, and I live in Indianapolis. Bloomington is 50+ miles from Indy and as luck would have it, the lost key was the only copy we had. I called Jim, the owner on a friday night and he began to explain the type of key I most likely had was a transponder key. He explained the cost of making one and why it would be up to $150. The next morning (Saturday) I drove over with title in hand, and he made a mechanical key for $20, on the odd chance that I actually had a non-transponder key. I told him I was heading down to the University in Bloomington that Monday, and he offered to drive down, but he would need a premium to cover gas and opportunity costs. I explained that my son had contacted a locksmith on campus that said hed do a transponder key for $170, and I was okay with that. Jim told me that because he made a mechanical key, and he looked up the manufacturers pin number for my car that the cost should be about $100 or less because all the "work" was done. He said a local company that charged more than that was ripping people off. He then told me to call him when I got a final price and he would talk to the local guy if I needed him to. When I got down to Bloomington, at noon Monday, I called the locksmith and told him I was in town and ready to meet him at the car. He told me "all the guys" were out on related calls and hed get back ASAP. When I asked how much the bill would be, he said he wasnt sure, and the "guy" would call me with that information when he was on the way to me. Well, 4 hours later, I got a call and he was ready. I told him I had a mechanical master and he asked if I could drive to his shop and drop it off. He said it would save me a trip charge which was pretty substantial. I drove to the shop which was only 1 mile away, and he got the key and said I did need a transponder key and it would be $175. WHAT???! I told him I knew the cost of the blank transponder key (Because Jim told me) and I did all the work and had the PIN for him, so all he had to do was cut the key, drive to my car, input the computer code and in 5 minutes Id be set. He began to tell me things that were out of line with what Jim told me, so I called Jim...on SPEAKERPHONE!. Well needless to say the shop owner was befuddled and then Jim said "Ill be down there in an hour and get you done. Ill charge you $150 but only because I have to drive 50 miles there and 50 miles back. That was $25 less than the guy who was 1 mile away. Long story short (I know, too late for that), a little over an hour later, Jim from A-Able showed up with his complete mobile key shop in a truck (impressive to say the least), and in 7 minutes I had a key and he was gone. Oh I paid him in that time too! So...If you have a problem that needs a locksmith A-Able Lock & Key is your guy. (and this guy does any car, cabinet, door, padlock....in other words if it uses a key, he can handle it) Thanks Jim! Mark Harris Indianapolis Indiana

James is AWESOME!! Lost my boyfriends car & motorcycle keys. He came out the same day to the house and made the key to the Suzuki SV650 bike & 2003 Jaguar S-Type. All from scratch!!! Its cool to see how its done. I was comforted by the fact that he asked my boyfriend for registration and I.D. to ensure that he owned them. Called 3 other locksmiths before calling Able lock & key that wanted to come out for $15.00 and look at the car & motorcycle before they can give us a price. I thought that was kinda strange because I had lost a key before & nobody ever said that before. Now what is there to look at. Plus they was rude on the phone. So I called James at Able Lock & he took down my number & said give him a few minutes to look up what he needs to do to help me. Then he called me back a few minutes later with prices. So why the other 3 could not just look it up. This company is professional, friendly and has the experience!! Would recommend to my friends.

Absolutely, positively, unequivocally, Able Lock & Key Service is the place to go!!! James is right on point, knows what he is talking about, explains things very thoroughly, and provides options that save you money and time, and these options delivery!!! This is the first time that I have needed to go to a locksmith, because I needed additional copies of a programmable key, and this is also the first time that I remember needing to go to a locksmith in 20+ years since most of my key needs have been the simple jobs that Lowes or The Home Depot can handle. Should I ever need to have a key cut and programmed again, or should I have a problem with a steering column ignition switch or something of the sort, James and Able Locksmith is the place that I will visit for sure and the one that I highly recommend!!!

Losing your car keys is often a sudden and immensely frustrating situation. In times of emergencies like these, only great customer service can make your day better. A-lock went above and beyond for their service. I requested emergency vehicle keys. Their price was the most competitive of the locksmiths I had to call. Moreover they showed up extremely promptly. I felt they were trustworthy from speaking to them over phone as they explained to me patiently and thoroughly how they would make the key. They are not only knowledgeable and experienced but also honest. When the service personnel James arrived, he was courteous and professional. It was a pleasure to do business with A-lock and I even requested they make a spare key as well. Highly recommended!!!

I reached out to A-Able lock in key after loosing my only key to my 2012 Ducati 696. The dealership quoted me around $3K as the only recourse to replace the computer, ignition and back seat lock. I found A-Able and spoke with James who reassured me of an alternative option using the key code card. We negotiated a price (around $300) which I thought was fair for 2 new keys, labor to cut the key, plus shipping; and paid securely through Paypal. The keys arrived as promised at a reasonable time through ground shipping. Once completing a little key reprogramming research, I was able to code the new keys to the bikes computer and was on my way. Highly recommended for their service, quality of work, and amicable customer service.
