Highly disappointed with ASG Automotive. This used to be a reputable company, I dont know if they changed management or not but the people Ive just dealt with are nothing short of dishonest, untrustworthy, crooked, scams. I went in for a simple oil change (which was already paid for) on my Mercedes and had a problem with some noises when I hit the breaks. I was told my biggest problem was the right inner/outer bearings. This was just fixed at another shop in November. I told them that since it was under warranty Id take it back to that shop. They proceeded to tell me they needed to fix another serious problem before I took it to that shop (tie rod)for $600 and they would apply a $50 coupon. I naively agreed, then took the car to the other shop afterwards and called ASG to let them know I was there and would be back to pay them once my car was done. The other shop told me nothing was wrong with my bearings and showed me it was the back rotors instead. So when I came back to ASG to let them know about the bearings, they said "THEY FORGOT" to tell me that "THEY FIXED" the bearing issue "FOR FREE". Then to my horror, and to add insult to injury, instead of having to pay $550 they proceeded to charge me $698 and said that they quoted me a price minus taxes and fees and that the new price included the $50 coupon. Bull..theyve always quoted me the total price and Ive been going there for many years, twice a year for oil changes and repairs. Now I feel they so-called fixed something that there probably wasnt anything wrong with in the first place, since the problem is STILL there. Then they had the nerve to over inflate the cost once they realized the other shop would point out their flaw. I had to call the other shop to apologize for thinking they were the negligent, fraudulent ones. ASG just lost a loyal customer. I will never set foot in that crooked place again. Save your time and money, and ALWAYS get a second opinion prior to letting someone fix your car. Pricey lesson learned!!!!! Revision 05/15/16: I was recently contacted by management and they assured me that they had dealt with the above issues and that there were in fact new hires who were not aware of the process. After apologizing to me for my poor experience they offered to refund the difference between the quote and what I actually paid and they did come thru. I do appreciate that. This is the ASG I came to love.

ASG charged me $120 to change the oil in my Mercedes. ASG used the wrong sized crush ring, so it leaked in less than 100 miles of driving. I called ASG and mentioned wrong sized ring and oil leak; they said "the tech must have grabbed the wrong one." For a $120 oil change, I hope we are not just "grabbing" things. Overall, the scheduled service for my Mercedes was $1200, which was more than the Mercedes dealer quoted me later, but I had ASG do the service since the car was there. Watch their pricing. ASG tried to oversell my scheduled maintenance for my Land Rover; ASG stated it would be $1600. The dealer only wanted $490. There was a discrepancy in what service was needed. Once I got an identical quote, ASG was still 35% higher than the Land Rover dealer. I challenged ASG and they matched the price of the dealer, but I had to threaten to pick up the car and decline service to get them to match the dealer price. Price is always a fight. Im not cheap, but I have a problem paying dealer pricing while I am not at the dealer. Also regarding my Land Rover originally was there to diagnose check engine. To repair the check engine matter, I was quoted the repair and approved the price on the service for check engine issue. An hour later I was told the price was going up over 20% because they had to switch brand of parts. It turns out their supplier thought they had faulty parts for the initial price, so ASG had to source the part from the dealership. I guess I should have just taken the car to the dealership. On the Land Rover service, they did not bother to reset my service indicator, so my Land Rover still thinks it needs service and reminds me. That was kind of irritating. Neither time did they wash my cars. Most garages I have been to wash my cars, especially when I had $1,200 and $1,600 service. They are nice people, but no way would I return.

I recently wrote a Yelp review for ASG, and decided to spread the word! Overview: This is a great place! I dont trust anyone else with my jeep, and would highly recommend ASG to anyone who is looking for a clean, reliable place to take their car. Blog: My family have been taking our cars here for over six years now. I think of the staff as family, since I own a jeep and they are notorious for their problems. I am always welcomed with a smile, and feel reassured when the person at the counter knows my name and car before even looking me up in the computer. I know that everyone is looking out for my best interest, too, and will tell me to fix something only when I need it. They are very understanding when I call before a road trip to get my jeep checked out and I always leave the shop with confidence that I can travel the needed distance because I have that much trust in the people working at ASG. There have been many situations where a staff member will fix something for free (the door lock grinding noise because it was annoying them, lol) and have never pushed a sale unless it is absolutely needed. I never worry when my jeep is in the shop because I will usually get a daily update on what was worked on that day. I love this because I like knowing that my jeep isnt just sitting there, forgotten about since it is my only form of transportation. Because of these qualities, among others, I would recommend this shop to anyone who is looking for a safe place to go! If you are in Indy, this is the place you should take your car!

Update: We spoke with Alex the shop foremen over the weekend. ASG agreed to cover the cost to replace the broken window. We received the money to fix it today, from Scott. Pros: They know a lot about European cars. Our car starts now. Cons: Our car was vandalized on their lot and they don’t care. PICS below… We left our Land Rover with ACS to have it repaired because it wouldn’t start. Over the course of the time it was in their possession, our left rear quarter panel glass was broken. They “reviewed” their security footage and said they never saw anyone go near it. Our service advisor’s best guess is that it was shot with a BB gun from across the street. Our service advisor told us they WOULD NOT do anything about it anyway unless it could be proven that one of their employees caused the damage. I thought that garage keeper’s liability laws covered this, placing responsibility for the care of customer vehicles on mechanic shops. But, ACS doesn’t seem to care about that. Now, unless we can get them to reimburse us, we are out the starting repair costs (which were fair and we have no problem with), along with glass repairs caused by vandals while our car was in their care (which we DO have a problem with).
