A major disappointment. We had a “special occasion” to celebrate - went for the “premium” Barbecue night (Saturday). Paid $39 total for 2 with the soft drinks not included and cost another $2.50 per person over the $15.99 meal. What we got was an 8 ft Salad Bar and an 8ft Steam Table. The “Barbecue” consisted of 1 tray on the table that had 3 BBQ pork ribs. That’s it! Nothing more. Most dishes were floating in their own fluid - Beans, Corn, Noodles – nothing dry except the fried chicken and white-fish. The signboard in front said that Clam Chowder was available. The waitress said they only have Chowder on Friday - no one had bothered to update the board from the previous day. For that amount of money I can honestly say that I was expecting something much more elaborate for eats. I’ve had a better selection at EVERY buffet that I’ve ever been to and for much less money. This place is a real racket.

Advertized as Amish Village. Did not see any amish. Advertized as true amish cooking. Buffet could have been Golden Corral. Pies may have been fresh made. Only thing amish were quilt, most items for sale made in China.. Flea market just local stuff, nothing to do with amish village. We made reservations at the "Amish Inn on the grounds. Given room on 3rd floor that smelled like long time since used. Curtains literally dry rotted and falling apart in shreds. As located in middle of nowhere had to stay the night. Had booked for two nights but did not stay. Ice and vending machines on 3rd floor unpluged. Vending machine on 2nd floor unpluged. When told front desk staff they acted surprised! Next morning went to take shower any no wash clothes. Checked out at 9:30. No shops open. Appeared deserted.

The food was wonderful. Not a huge selection but it is all handmade from scratch and all excellent. Their homemade bread and peanut butter is the first thing I would recommend anyone to try! The setting is beautiful, exposed wood all throughout the village interior gives it a simplistic feeling and makes you feel at home. The wait staff is incredible. Our waitress was Rachel. She spoke to us like family, gave us recommendations, and continuously brought us refills on our drinks when they were about half empty. Shes the best waitress Ive ever had. I give the Ghastoff Amish Village 10/10 on every mark: food, staff, location, feeling, and price. I will be visiting again.

I have to say the staff here and all the women who work the front desk are amazing. They went above & beyond to be friendly and helpful. I live local and needed a place to stay a couple nights and the inn has nice rooms & a safe and comfortable environment. Years ago I stayed here and room was cheaper then (red roof) & for some reason now a single room is higher than giraffe balls, and will cost you approximately $90 a night which about equal to renting a house for a week here. The staff being so great made it worth it, but maybe throw in a card for a free buffet at gasthof buffet next door to not make it so hard to pretty much fork over $100 every day to stay☺

This place was disappointing. 1. I find it hard to believe that even half of the food that they serve in their restaurant is made from scratch. I watched as the salad bar was filled from plastic bags and containers. The vegetables that were served hot tasted like they came from a can and the pies had a frozen taste. 2. The staff wasnt friendly and ignored me when I approached them to ask a question. 3. The gift shop was full of junk made in China. 4. Ive seen cleaner restrooms at truck stops. Luckily my husband and I had a bogo coupon for the buffet , other wise it would have been way overpriced. I gave it 3 stars for not giving me food poisoning.

The first plate of food we got was cold and the second wasnt much hotter. Everyone was pleasant but the price for a small buffet was too much $17.00 (with drink for adult) $8.50 (with drink for child 10 and under). Stomach pains we all recieved on the way home (not from over indulging) some in the car couldnt even make the ride home due to severe diarrhea. The fish was undercooked. We also bought some Amish apple butter. When we opened the jar we were very upset to find out how runny it was. Never will we return or recommend it to anyone. Overpriced and overrated.

This place is an Amish style buffet featuring a salad bar, entree bar and dessert bar. It is all you can eat. The foods on the salad bar are typical for the area and the meals had fish, fried and baked chicken, roast beef and foods for kids with some vegetables. There are lots of treats for dessert with many pies and cobblers along with ice cream. The food was ok, ours seemed a little over cooked. There is a large gift shop with many unique and interesting finds.

The entire staff was excellent, all were extremely friendly and helpful our entire stay. The lobby and rooms were very clean. Would definitely recommend it anyone. It was also in a very quiet area. The breakfast has food from the Amish bakery, bread, sweet bread and cinnamon rolls made for an excellent continental breakfast. Loved the rocking chairs out front of the lobby for socializing and enjoying the evening under the stars...

Almost no phone service, Wi-Fi is slow and clunky. T.V. is basic cable with 30 year old sets and restaurant is pricey for bland food. Situated in a country hick town with no attractions but a red neck bar and a local mom and pop pizza joint that does not deliver or except anything but cash for bad pizza. Go somewhere else. Even the Amish people are suspect. Cars and using the local laundry? Do real Amish do that? Come on...

My fiancé and I absolutely love this place! It is definitely worth the 2+ hour drive for us. We always come for the restaurant and bakery. The food is all fresh and home cooked. The bakery has the most decadent treats at such an exceptional value. I have such a huge respect to for the Amish and Mennonite communities, that it always makes me feel so humble to come visit theyre businesses. Cant wait to return.

Good food, very calm and clean atmosphere. Food seemed fresh, although pork chops were a bit overdone. Their homemade bread and deserts are exceptional, I really liked the peanut butter pie. It wasnt anything fancy, but was a good meal and they were very accommodating to my disabled grandmother. Our server Amy (I believe?) Was very nice and on top of things.

The food may be fresh and be as close to homemade as possible but it is not served hot. Lukewarm to room temperature at best. Meatloaf, fried chicken, Mac and cheese, buttered egg noodles all great. Roast beef, roast pork were both overcooked and difficult to eat. Sorry but soup should never be served at room temperature. It could have been alot better.

First time out here on the job, about 5 miles away. This is a very unique place to eat, and also a great place to pick up some personalized memorabilia items, nic nacs, home made candies, quilts, and much much more. Very beautiful presence, and Amish run the show here. Love how they up keep this facility. Very nice. Great job.
