I am thoroughly impressed with Chick-fil-a in Ames. First of all, their chicken is scrumptious. As in beyond delicious. Ill have to be careful or their sandwiches could become an obsession. :) The customer service was more than courteous -- they were looking for ways to make our stay a pleasant one; i.e. warm, friendly conversation, walking around the seating area to see if wed like refills on our drinks, saying, "let me get that for you" when we stood up and got ready to clear our places...etc. I gotta say, theyre response "Its my pleasure" to any request is a nice touch. Since it was the grand opening, I expected to wait and wait to get an order, but we had less than 20 seconds to wait in line, then got our food immediately. It was faster than McDonalds for goodness sakes. This was the best fast food experience Ive had in ages. Well be back again and again.

The customer service was very good albeit a bit odd, I think the person on the drive thru telecom told me it would be her pleasure to serve me at least 3 times. The interaction was a stark contrast to the generally vacant deadpan service of other drive thru attendants in Ames. Customer service aside, the food was terrible. I got a three piece chicken strip basket with waffle fires. The breaded chicken was oily/soggy, luke warm & chewy, I only ate one strip and put the rest into the garbage, that bad. The fries were only a bit better, could have been crisper, should have been hotter. Ive thus far avoided this chain due tho the CEOs stance on LGBT issues, after my recent experience, Ill not be returning.

Colonel Sanders is still the better choice for a family friendly fattening place to eat. The only thing that I truly enjoy about chick-fil-a is watching others children play on the play place. The way they crawl around in those tunnels like gerbils makes me smile. I also really wish they had candy machines so I could give the little kids candy. Those kids jump up and down for that candy like majestic little bunnies just makes me want to ooh yeah! I just that type of guy that likes to watch children play at Chick-fil-a. It was actually so bad that a group of African Americans stood up and proclaimed this place sucks and proceeded their way across the street to the Panera Bread if that says anything.

Im am always impressed with how quickly our order is ready. We have a family of 8 so when we order, it is quite an order but Ive never waited more than a few minutes for our food. Usually by the time we have our drinks, our food is ready. Their employees are always cheerful and provide a great level of service.

Not bad but I do feel like the staff has a reputation of being speciest against any non-chicken animal, specifically cows. This is unacceptable in this century! Ive seen cows in nearby fields weeping due to their lack of recognition by Chick-fil-a. This is a serious issue and needs to be corrected!

Chicken is served here and pretty much nothing else. The company has a controversial social history, but the food is decent. Started the whole chicken sandwich with one pickle thing. This is actually the return of chick-fil-a to Ames, since the original in the union at ISU closed some years ago.

Food is really good for fast food. However, if Im spending that much on fast food ($15 for just two regular chicken sandwich entrees and 2 lemonades), I expect them to be less stingy with condiments. Its not crazy to want more than one pickle or packet of mayo for a sandwich!

I ate here 4 times in the first week it opened. Not only is the food delicious, the staff is very well mannered. Im inclined to believe the other negative review is falsified due to the consistent good service Ive received from this location. I will eat here again

Love this place ..the food is delicious and no wait .THE staff are supper friendly and polite.. Love the music !!! And a clean safe play place love it just love it .. I also appreciate being closed on Sundays gives the staff time to be with god and family!!!

Your food is great. However, it is very disappointing to me when I ask for extra chick fil a sauce and I only get one sauce. How do you expect me to eat chicken nuggies and fries with one chick fil a sauce? It is a reoccurrence and Im frustrated

Friendly staff besides the fact that they failed to teach the staff about the laws of service animals, then again it seem as if most restaurants in Ames failed to do this. They immediately tried to kick me out after I had already ordered..

Went to Chick-fil-A tonight with my son, always a great place to eat. The food is fresh, love the lemonade, and while we were eating, they came around and refilled our drinks. They always greet you with a smile and make you feel welcome.

Food was fast and tasty, the facility was spotless, the music peaceful, there were even real flowers on the tables! And the staff was great, offered to take our tray when done and brought a refill over. Very classy for a fast food place!

Great food and good service This location is great as every Chick Fil A I stopped at always provide the best service. We stopped here on our way traveling thru. This was a perfect place to get a breakfast meal and get regenerated.

My kids love it. And as far as fast-food resturants go, this may be one of the best in Ames. Clean with friendly staff. Great order accurracy. Id sell a kidney for their chicken tortilla soup. That stuff is like crack.
