I went to Empire on 10/13/11 to get a hair cut and help my niece out with getting her credits to graduate. PROS TO EMPIRE: My niece did an excellent job cutting my hair and her instructor checked her work at the end ensuring she did a sufficient job. I would like to thank my niece for the great job and it is good to see that she is getting closer to completing her education and closer to being a successful cosmetologist. I would agree strongly that their instructors should be a lot more involved in providing the students with the proper education and tools to satisfy any and all customers. I was surprised to see a bad review on the quality of the work performed. If you received poor quality work, this a reflection of the leadership provided by their instructors and directors of the facility. Again I would like to thank my niece for the great haircut at a DISCOUNTED price. CONS TO EMPIRE: I received a call from my niece later that evening telling me that she was charged $5.00 out her pocket due to me not paying for my haircut. After getting done with the haircut and asking her instructor personally if my niece passed her test with my cut and she smiled and said yes. I then proceeded to the checkout counter with my ticket to pay the moneys owed for the services. I presented Mrs. Beach at the checkout counter with a $20.00 bill for the fee and she gave me $15.00 in change which is correct. The issue I have is how they could not account for the ticket I handed them with my name on it. Nor could they figure out after counting their drawer at the close of business, that it was $5.00 over if the ticket was lost or misplaced. My next issue would be is how many customers a day do they take money from and misplace their ticket and find that the drawer is over. Where does that money go?? Also how many times have they lost or misplaced a ticket and charged the students for the fee. These are paying students to attend this school not to mention. My niece may also not get credit for the haircut that puts her closer to graduation. RESEARCH AND PERSONALLY VISIT THIS COMPANY BEFORE YOU SEND YOUR CHILD OR REFER ANYONE TO ATTEND THIS SCHOOL. AS FAR AS THE WORK PERFORMED BY THE STUDENTS, THEIR WORK IS ONLY AS GOOD AS THE INSTRUCTORS DIRECTION AND SUPERVISION.

I had a horrible experience. I drove from Cincinnati to go here because I thought it was good. First the instructor seem overwhelmed as it was a Saturday an there was a lot of people. But she was externally rude to the point that I was in tears about to leave. My 11 year old daughter was with me and she was upset at her actions as well. Roxy the student was nice and so I stayed. I wanted blond highlights. They told me to dye my hair back to red and come back on Wednesday to get highlights. So I came Wednesday for a different instructor to say to me Hello I thought you was going to say hello to me but I guess not!!! Then they told me they cant do the highlights. I was so upset that I just walked out. Now I paid 75.00 for something that I didnt even want and gave the student a 30.00 tip because I was going to get my nails and eyebrows waxed so she was going to do all. So long story short I drove there and back twice and had terrible service both times. I will never go there again!!! and I have been to hair schools before and had wonderful service. I do not understand why they have to be so rude and tell me one thing then another. So I now have to go somewhere and pay another 70 to get what I wanted in the first place. I should get my money back but I was offered a free service nice but I will never go back to that place again!!!!!! Update went to Supercuts the same day got the highlights they did a great job and it was cheaper than this school! Oh yeah and thanks Mel the director of the school for calling me back. Great customer service.

These people will charge you thousand and thousands of dollars if you join their school and decide later that this is not for you even if your with them for less then a month they say you owe them over $4,000!!! What a rip off and a scam charging 18 year old girls money they dont have because they wanted to do something different with there lives... And yes they will charge you thousands of dollars even if you return all their belongings and they dont even have the nerve to tell you themselves they have an operator call and tell you instead of to your face or giving u an actual phone call. And then finally last but not least when u call to see why you owe them so much money they send u to voicemail and do not call back!

I went here for the frst time a month or two ago. the girl did a great job!! The only downfall is the students are slow but that is because they are learning. I got my hair cut and i loved it she couldnt of done a better job. i went back a week later and had the same girl color my hair. she was great. she helped choose a color that went great with my skin tone

I went here to get my hair, nails, and makeup done for prom and when I asked how long the wait is, the woman said "Theres no way we can take anymore people today. Just no way." And that was it. They didnt take appointments for this, just walk-ins. And they closed at 2. Just not a friendly environment.

First of all as soon as I went through the door, it was very clean and very inviting. The stylist I had was Tabatha Cochran. She greeted me with a smile and asked how my day is going. I had a great experience at Empire Beauty School.

Sent my girlfriend here to save a few bucks and what a mess they made of her nails. Cannot believe that somebody approved the work that was done here. Get what you pay for!

They do good work every time I come here. The teachers are very professional, and the students are always friendly and knowledgeable.
