I recently bought a new home and needed to bring the electrical and plumbing up to code. As such, I called and requested a few quotes from some companies. Tom Drexler was one of them. I liked that this company provided both services, in hopes it would make it for a smoother process. I called and set up two appointments: electrical and plumbing. The electrical appointment was scheduled a few days out from 5-7. The day before the appointment I got a call from them telling me the electrician didn’t work later than 5 and we would need to reschedule for an earlier time slot. I was a bit put off but chalked it up to miscommunication and perhaps a new person. The new time slot was now 3-5 – because of this I would have to take off work early. The day of the appointment, around 11am, I got a call from someone saying they were the electrician and asking if they could come out now instead of from 3-5. I told him I wasn’t home and wouldn’t be there until around 2 but he could come at 2. He then requested I call the main office and reschedule my time slot when I knew when I would be home….wait, what? You’re the one that called me asking to come earlier. I told him I didn’t want to confuse the situation and that I would like to just keep the appt. time for 3pm. He said ok and he would still probably be there by 2. The conversation was not professional at all. Fast forward a couple hours and I got home around 1:30 to find this man sitting in my driveway! At this point I was very annoyed. I have dogs and would have liked to have that extra 30 mins to get my dogs out and make sure my home was in order before this man was there. The actual appt. wasn’t bad, but wasn’t great for sure. He had a hard time understanding what I was wanting to do but at the end he got it and gave me an estimate. It was higher than other company’s estimates I received. The next appointment was for plumbing. Again my time slot was 5-7 and on the day of the appt., at 4pm, the main office called to tell me she didn’t have a plumber that could come out. She told me it was hard to guarantee plumbers after 5 because they get stuck on jobs – not my problem. She told me they would have to reschedule. I was close to cancelling the appt. all together because this is the second time this has happened – very unprofessional. I went ahead and rescheduled for the following night. On my way home from work I called the main office to verify exactly what time they were expecting the plumber to be over. The lady on the phone was nice – she contacted the dispatch who contacted the plumber and he said he would be at my home no later than 6pm. At 6:15 the plumber was not there. I called the main office back and spoke to a different girl – very rude. She refused to contact the plumber to ask where he was and told me the original girl I talked to should have never given me an exact time. After arguing for several minutes about how they have already cancelled on me twice, and explaining I was concerned they would cancel again, I told her to just cancel the appt. and I would take my business elsewhere. During the conversation I also asked for a manager to which she told me there were none there. I hung up the phone. About 10 minutes later I got another call. When I answered it, miraculously there was a manager ready to talk to me….expect she wasn’t professional either. Her first words to me were, ‘So are we sending out a plumber or not’. I said absolutely not and explained everything to her. She picked up where the other girl left off in arguing with me. Eventually I hung up the phone. In summary, this company is not professional, was never on time, cancelled appts, and was higher than the competition. I’m not sure how they could still be in business.

Let me start by saying that I have never written a review before - positive or negative, BUT this horrible experience with Tom Drexler Plumbing has me absolutely livid at the unprofessional and non customer service oriented behavior exhibited by the office staff and technician. I selected Tom Drexler because of the high reviews on website. I had a job that I needed to get done on a very tight timeline. I called on a Friday and made an appointment for the following Friday between 8-12. I was told that someone would be out and give me a price for the items I wanted done. If I approved, the technician would be able to go ahead and do the needed repairs. I took a day off work and kept my cell phone close for the call. At 11:00, I had not heard anything so I called and spoke to Molly. She told me that the technician was running behind and he would be at our property in 25 minutes. I waited until 12:30 and my husband called back to see what the delay was. They told him that there was no appointment scheduled for us (very rude and placed on hold many times like they were completely put out.) I told them I just spoke to Molly at 11:00 and she said someone was coming. Anyways, they said that there was another woman with a name very similar to mine on the same street that had an appointment and they mistaken their appointment for ours. I was confused because it seems their computer tracks everything by street address and when I called previously she was able to find the information. About an hour later a service technician Dave C showed up. We showed him the repairs and he said that he could give a price and maybe do one thing today. Upset over wasting my whole day - I asked for a better price for our trouble. He seemed completely put out and made a comment that he was not happy to be sent to this job where "people are already pissed." Thats nice - make a mistake on your scheduling and take no accountability and talk about us because you wasted our whole day. Long story short - gave a price said nothing could be done until Tuesday (what another day off work.) No real accountability and just kept saying "we have to make something off this job." OK - you are a service provider - customer service and accountability should take priority over profit. Any business person knows that a job well done with great customer service pays for itself tenfold. Worse company in the world and very high priced. Save yourself some money and time by calling Southern Plumbing. Bigger is not better.

I wish I could give them 0 stars. Last March we chose to use Tom Drexler Plumbing for a main sewer line replacement at our home. Our home is older, so we had old clay pipes and chose to have Tom Drexler bust them out and replace them with a seamless sewer drain. It came with nice features (lifetime transferable warranty/1 year maintenance plan on our home). The person who came to give us a quote was great, the issues came when the people came to do the work. These plumbers chose to hook our new main sewer line up to a crawl space drainage pipe. We didnt realize this at first and were told that the sewage that was under our home should dry up within the month. It didnt, so we called them back out. That is when it was noticed that they didnt even hook the sewer line up to the drainage of the house. This caused MORE sewage to get into our crawl space. After 6 times of coming out (1 time for initial quote, 2 times for following up with issues related to their job, and 3 times to fix their mistakes). Our sewer line was replaced properly. Besides the fact that the workers that came out the second time decided to leave sewage hand prints on our siding that we had to wash off. Also, our original quote person did not properly see the sewer line damage and they would not even budge to give us a discount for the third time of them coming out (totaling almost $10k). With enough complaints, we were able to get our 1 year maintenance plan extended to 2 years. This is where our second mistake of choosing Tom Drexler happened. The HVAC maintenance person was very nice, but not knowledgeable. He ended up putting way too much freon in our air conditioning unit which resulted with an indoor temperature of 85 degrees in the middle of the Summer and an A/C unit making crazy sounds. They could not come out and fix it until the next day, so we had to stay somewhere else to stay cool. The person that came out the next day was able to fix it by releasing a descent amount of freon. We fortunately chose not to use their electrical maintenance program because my husband is an electrician. Long story short, I will NEVER use them again. I will NOT let them come to my house to complete my 2nd year of free maintenance. I tell everyone NOT to use them and tell my horror story.
