DONT GO HERE!! This is about the horrible non-service provided by BALD BOY NEY SILVA!! I have used this place for 5 yrs. and have had good service and the counter has been great. Today, 05/31/2011 I called and was immediately hung up on, I called back and was immediately placed on hold. He said Firestone hold please. I figured they were very busy. I was on hold for at least 5 min. Then they picked up. I told them what I needed and he said I am only a tech but I will help you all I can. GREAT!! just what I am used to here, good service. I have some used tires I need mounted and balanced. This is not the first time that I have had this done here. He said bring them in. I have bought tires, have had alignments, mounted balanced tires, they have mounted used tires for me on 3 different occasions. He waited for a moment and I could hear him ask someone if they could mount them . I heard them say yes come on in. Then the tech told me the same. I asked if that would be OK because I thought that they were very busy because I was on hold for so long and that because they have the tech answering the phone that they were swamped. The tech said that "oh no we aint busy that everyone in that shop was needing something to do. I get there and the same voice I heard on the phone when I got hung up on said "can I help you" he had no enthusiasm and sounded like he hated life. I said yes I just spoke to someone about mounting my tires and balancing them that they said come on yall could do them today. He was a BALD BOY about 25-30 trying to grow some facial hair. I have never seen him there before. He said we dont do that. I said dont do what? he said mount tires unless we sell them. WOW. I asked when did this happen because I have spent a lot of money at this place over the years and that Firestone did just that on many occasions. That I even had receipts in my truck of them doing this. He said that this is just the way it is. I said OK I didnt know that they didnt need the business. And left. I have spent money at this place for years but will never go back because of this BALD BOY "NAY SILVA!!" I have a few other choice words but this will not be published if I do. So as long as Nay Silva is there everyone and myself will not do business with Firestone by the Causeway Mall thanks to BALD BOY!! I did some research and found out that he just started a few months ago. That he has been with the company for a short time. Any length of time with this guy will be to long and a liability to Firestone along with loosing repeat customers and potential business.

Lied to me repeatedly in an all-around terrible experience. I came here in an emergency situation and was screwed royally. I was experiencing grinding when my brakes were applied, but after I inspected my brakes at home, I knew it wasnt the pads or shoes. I had to drive out of state the next day to be home for Christmas, and Im new to the Metairie/New Orleans area so I didnt know a trustworthy mechanic to go to. I chose this place because their website said that they offered free brake inspections. Bait and switch. I showed up and they told me that they no longer do that, and that the inspection would be $21. The grinding was getting severe and I was on a time constraint, so I went ahead and paid them for the inspection. They came back and gave me a list of over $1,000 worth of work, including a wheel bearing repack, new rotors, new calipers, new pads, new shoes, fog lamps, windshield wipers, a brake fluid exchange. After I refused all of the stuff that I knew I didnt need, I was left with no choice but to agree to the wheel bearing repack, because I dont know how to check that myself and they told me that it was dangerous to keep driving without it. The calipers and the rotors sounded like a rip-off, but they told me that their policy would not allow them to do a repack without replacing the rotors and calipers due to liability. My only other option was to find the next mechanic down the road who could just as easily have tried to rip me off, so I had to go with it. The desk guy tried to talk me back into adding brake pads and shoes into the deal by telling me that my brakes were "metal on metal" and that I badly needed new ones. When I told him that I had looked at them myself and knew that wasnt true, he changed his tune instantly and lessened his stance to "theyre not totally gone, but they will be soon," which was still not true. Then, when I told him that I was going to have the more minor repairs taken care of by a family mechanic at home and that Firestone couldnt match his prices, the desk guy tried to guilt me out of doing that by telling me that in his days as a used car salesman (no surprise there), he didnt eat some months because he was giving discounts to his friends and family. This was easily one of the worst, most unscrupulous business transactions Ive ever had to suffer through. Friends and family told me afterwards that this experience is consistent with Firestones reputation. I will never deal with Firestone again, and I hope everyone reading this has the good fortune of avoiding them completely.

Dropped off a 2012 F150 for new front pads and rotors on 6/20/16. Noticed after driving to work 2 days later(didnt use the truck on 6/21) that the drivers side rotor was hot enough that I couldnt touch anywhere on the rim and the outer brake pad was smoking. The rotor got hot enough that it turned purplish. It was binding on the outer 1/2 of the rotor. Either they didnt clean and lube the caliper guide pins or they dint seat the pad correctly in the caliper. Called them while at work, reply was "Well make it right." Fair enough. Correct answer. 6/22 evening dropped truck off. Noonish 6/23 I get a call that the truck is ready. When I get there, the truck is sitting out front with the scored-up discolored rotor still on it. Told them call me once the rotor is replaced. Also asked them to flush the brake system since the fluid on that side is cooked. Now Im left wondering if the passenger side is done correctly, if the hub and bearings are damaged from the excessive heat(keep in mind, their solution was for me to drive from work to Firestone), and if they flushed the brake system correctly if they did flush it at all. I went from a slight pulsation while braking at highway speeds to now having a vehicle I dont really trust to not leave me stranded. If you want permanent damage done to the trustworthiness of your vehicle, go here.

Dishonest Service! On an advertised special, they said they needed to charge me more because of the kind of car I have. I drive a Jeep Compass - regular no frills. I also paid them to fix a leak, a week later I was low again so I went back. Told me I had a nail in my tire wall and suggested I get it fixed where I got the tires. That is where I learned that there was never a hole in my tire, that this Firestone never repaired THAT tire for which service they charged me - turns out I had a valve leak … All of this after my telling them about how difficult it has been to find a place that was competent and didnt rob you … geez, at least the other places actually did work. I called and complained at least three times (two times I visited) and no manager called me back … they do not care and cannot be trusted. I WILL be calling the BBB and reporting them.
