On Thursday May 14, 2015 the owner or an employee representing the company of Lock, Stock and Barrel verbally accosted and threatened my wife, my three young children ranging from 9 years old to 4 months and I. We were parked in a five minute drop off zone on Elm Street next to the Portland Public Library. My wife was in the process of dropping me off at work. We had just parked at the spot about a minute before a minivan with the Lock, Stock and Barrel logo on its side arrived. The driver stopped behind us double parking for a moment before he drove up beside my open window and asked gruffly if we were leaving. I responded that we were leaving in a few minutes. He then backed up to his previous position, double parking behind our vehicle and stayed there for 30 more seconds. He then pulled up alongside us pulling up slowly and deliberately as close as he could get his van to my passenger side door. He then slowly opened his door very nearly hitting the side of our vehicle with his door as he had stopped within 12-15 inches of us. He made a production of getting out while he was blocking traffic by double parking despite the fact that there were other parking spots open on the same side of the street. The driver then angrily implied that we were in the wrong by parking in a drop off zone. He said that the five minute drop off zone spot was only for dropping off library books in the night deposit slot. I responded that no, the spot was meant for dropping off passengers and that we were legally parked and would be leaving in a few minutes. He then got back into his vehicle (after leaving the door open blocking us in which didn’t even allow me to open my door...) and for the third time backed up his van into oncoming traffic coming down Elm Street and double parked behind us. I assume that he was then taking down our license plate for whatever reason, but both my wife and I felt very threatened. I especially felt worried and alarmed about leaving my wife and our nine and six year old sons and four month old daughter; not knowing if he would be waiting down the street to further accost them while I was left at work. Road rage is a very real problem in today’s society. It is especially horrendous when committed against a defenseless woman and her children because the driver felt like he was inconvenienced while dropping off library books. It is especially unwise when you commit road rage while in the business of a company that you are representing with its company vehicle. Not only will I never use the services of Lock, Stock and Barrel, but I will recommend to my friends, family and co-workers that they not use their services as they are represented or owned by a white haired, graying middle aged man in his mid to late 50’s wearing glasses and a ball cap who has many anger issues.

These guys seem to be very no-nonsense hard-working roll up your sleeves and get to it kind of guys. I had an issue with a medeco lock and they were very persistent in fixing it and where very reasonable with the cost. I would highly recommend these guys for their quick schedule expansive knowledge and tenacity.
