I chose this place because it is a 5-10 minute walk from where I live (so I dont have to worry about finding a ride). Dropped off my Jeep to have the brake pads replaced and maybe the rotors. When they call me back to let me know the status, they listed off things that were not needed to be done. For example he told me that my air filter was filthy and had to be replaced. Well, I had it replaced two weeks earlier. The total of what they wanted to do on my Jeep totaled almost one thousand bucks. I told them not to work on it. When I picked up my Jeep the manager was there. He was a nice guy named Chris. I explained to him how their mechanic told me my air filter was filthy and he wanted to take a look. When we get outside to my Jeep, the hood was still popped and doors unlocked. ?? So I was supposed to pick up my Jeep with the hood popped and they left it unlocked in the parking lot? Anyway, he looks at the air filter and it is snow white. He said the chances are that they wanted to replace the filter based on the mileage. Well, why wouldnt he tell me that on the phone instead of lying and telling me that it was filthy? I told the manager I would rather not pay for the $25 estimate since I couldnt trust it but if they insist I wasnt going to argue. He was very understanding and said that he would like to get my trust back as a customer. I called two other places for a quote and a bigger name place on West Street said they could replace the pads and rotors for half the price... but I wont be able to walk home.

TL;DR Dont use this place, they dont stand behind their work and will charge YOU to see if THEY made a mistake. So I took my car in for a regular tire rotation and oil change. During the course they find "several" things that need work with a possible bill in excess of $1,000 and the "necessary" stuff alone was over $300 (fluids, battery connections, etc). Fine, get the necessary stuff done, pay and go. The next day I try to use the power windows on the passenger side and its not working. Due to my job, I have to wait a week before I get a chance to go back to ask them to take a look. Before Im even done describing the problem to the guy at the counter (I thought they might have tripped the fuse during the battery work) the manager denies it could POSSIBLY be them, it MUST be a separate issue and it will cost me a fee to even look at it (oh and has to be some other day). I patiently try again to just ask for them to check the fuses to see if they tripped something and again hes very defensive, says its a coincidence, not their fault and I need to make an appointment for later in the week. I leave in disgust. In the end I look up the problem online, figure out I just needed to reset the power windows because they had disconnected the battery during service (it WAS them) and was good-to-go. They could have helped me out in about 5 minutes, no charge no parts, and bought some goodwill but instead were defensive, combative and wanted to charge a diagnosis fee for a VERY simple problem.

Stay away from this shop. I had a leak in a tire and they said it could not be fixed and then told me that I needed two new tires. I asked them if they could provide and install the exact same tire as was on the car, which was an all season tire, and in the same brand, and they said they could. When I came to pick up the car, I noticed that the tires did not look the same and they then for the first time told me that the tires that I had were discontinued. Then I asked whether the new tires they installed we at least all season tires and they assured me that they were. I looked the tires up on the internet and it was clear that the original tires had not been discontinued and it was also clear that the tires that they had installed were summer only tires which should not be used in cold temperatures and would not work at all in snow. They clearly knew that they were lying to me, and I insisted that they take their tires off and reinstall the original tires, even the one with the slow leak. Later, I went to another tire store and they repaired the leak, which they told me was an easy leak to fix. Clearly, Annapolis Tire & Auto lied to me multiple times in an effort to sell me tires that I did not need (for about $900) that did not match and would not work as all season tires. This place is scary.

I needed new tires installed on my SUV and, after shopping around, chose Admiral Tire & Auto on Forest Drive. I wanted a specific Michelin that was not in stock; David (the new store manager) went above and beyond to get them ordered for me--they arrived the next business day. The cost of the tires with install was also slightly less than other places in Annapolis (including Sams Club). The appointment was quick, tires installed with no issue, and employees were all courteous. My husbands car will need new tires before winter and we wont hesitate to choose Admiral again. UPDATE: We recently bought four new tires for my husbands car--but we did not choose Admiral again. Our 5 star review is now a 3 star review. It appears David (the previous store manager) is no longer there and the two people my husband talked to were less than helpful. The tires he wanted werent carried at this store and they couldnt be bothered to assist in ordering them. Also, they quoted us an install charge $40 higher than what we would have paid 3 months ago to install tires we brought in ourselves. If you catch them on the right day, you could have a good experience. No consistency means we probably wont return.

Stay away. I took my car there to get a state inspection to sell. I had dealt with them previously and felt uneasy about dealing with them again but my favorite mechanic was unavailable. But I figured a state inspection is pretty idiot proof. Was I wrong. They wanted to charge me $300 for repairs in order to get a clean bill of health to sell the car. Funny thing was one of the repairs had already been done a month before. I challenged them and they dropped the price to $210 but I only had a week to "take the deal." I said no thanks and took my car to "Daves Auto Service" in Annapolis. He is fabulous and said: "no problems, car is good to go." To make matters worse, when I picked up the car from Admiral Tire/Annapolis Tire and Auto on Forest Drive (same place), I noticed the car was BONE DRY on gas. I remember thinking it has a third of a tank when I dropped it off. I was selling the car and had taken a photo of the odometer (and the gas gauge accidentally) before I dropped it off. The state inspection was the last thing to do. Sure enough, these clowns had driven the car 80 miles and used all my gas. STAY AWAY from these guys. I WOULD NEVER GO BACK TO THEM.
