Today, 9/30/09 at 8:30 am I witnessed the daycare van for this “establishment” driving erratically. The driver blatantly ran a stop sign on Avondale Rd (piggybacking on the car in front of them) and proceeded to tailgate the rest of the way down Avondale. I called the center and asked to speak to the Director, told her of my concerns, and her response was “Ok”. There was a long pause to which I finally responded, “That’s it? Just ok? No I’m so sorry? No Oh my god that’s terrible? Nothing? Where on earth could a daycare van be going that is that urgent; while advertising your business, which my daughter will certainly never be attending? Well that’s fine. There are plenty of other phone calls I can make about this.” That seemed to get her attention as she defensively responded “Well if you had let me finish!” I informed her that I gave her plenty of time to finish and to have a good day. Her response of first blowing me off and then acting overly defensive indicates to me that she was either the person driving the van or she does not care about the safety of the children in her care. I certainly wouldn’t want my daughter in a vehicle driving without regard for her safety (not to mention, what other safety issues are they disregarding?) and I would urge you to consider an alternative childcare center before intrusting your precious child to this daycare.

Like taking your kids to their Aunts house....thats how this was originally described to me, and after my child was there for four years, I could not agree more. The friend who recommended this Center described it as very loving and very appropriate. The building is a little aged, but well-maintained, and it serves as a living monument to the large numbers of neighborhood kids who began their day-care/education here. Although there was usually full enrollment, the Staff was always attentive to my sons needs, and he was always well-treated and well-cared for, and the owners could always be counted on to plan fun age-appropriate activities for the kids. This is not some large, sterile center-- the enrollment is as diverse as the community, and I always felt more like I was dropping my child off with a close friend or relative,

I was scared to take my child to daycare at 6 weeks but the teachers made me feel more at ease and comfortable. They really become part of your family and the teachers recognize each child by name even if they are not the teacher for the childs class. I would recommend this daycare out of all of the daycares I visited, Leaps & Bounds has a wonderful staff and child friendly facility.

Not a place to take your child... I was recently informed that there have been dead mice found at this daycare center. Not to mention the dairy products left on the table with the employees walking by totally ignoring it. This childcare center is in a neighborhood with plenty of other providers close by. I would NEVER pick this place to take care of my own child.

Both of our daughters love the center. The teachers & owners are very caring. It was a great choice for daycare for our girls.
