Did not honor their promise - I was looking for hardwood floors for the house so I went to Vertical Connection (based on other reviews). They said they had a 40% sale going on for one week. I had gone there on a Sunday and they scheduled an in home appointment for Thursday. On Tuesday one of their sales people (Barbry) called and said they would have to postpone the appointment until next Sunday. Since their sale was only until Sunday I asked them if it would be an issue since I also wanted to shop around. Barbry said they would give me 3 days after teh appointment to make a decision and honor the sale price. The owners son (Adam) came by on Sunday and to my surprise he was pushing me to make a decision that very day saying the sale was ending that day. When I told him what Barbry had told me, his answer was that Barbry was new and did not know the store rules !!!!. Anyways he wouldnt honor the committment. Obviously I was not going to be pushed into making a decision, so I shopped around and to my pleasant surprise I found at least 4 other stores in Columbia offering lower prices. Finally I got the quote from Expo Designs (formerly M & S carpets) for $5.99/sq ft whereas Vertical connection had quoted me $9.99 with discount (for the exact same Armstrong color and style. I verified the SKU, it was same). Needless to say, thanks to them not honoring the commmitment, I now have great hardwood floors at almost half the price I would have paid with Vertical Connection Update after owners reply : Not sure what you mean by the price being less than my comments indicate. I had a written quote from Vertical Connection, that was about $4400 for just over 420 sq ft (which works out to roughly $10). And Adam clearIy stated I would have to make a decision by 5 pm Sunday or the price would go up.(although Barbry clearly told me on the phone that since the delay was from Vertical Connections side they would give me 3 days AFTER they visited the house to make a decision). I dont think it can be any more clear than that. As for being frustrated, I would say its the exact opposite. If I had gotten the 3 extra days I would have probably made my decision faster rather than shop around for 2 more weeks and the same floors for half the price.

My wife and I couldnt be happier with The Vertical Connection! We recently redid the floors in our entire house and they turned out spectacular! The experience started out great as Adam and Steve helped walk us through our idea and vision. They helped by recommending carpets based on our needs(we have 2 dogs and a 2 year old). We opted for a decorative carpet on our staircase and hallway which looked wonderful with the colors that were chosen for the bedrooms upstairs. We opted for Hardwood on the first level which was a process because we couldnt decide on the color of wood. I preferred dark and my wife wanted lighter. The team at Vertical Connection weighed the pros and cons and helped us come up with a wood that we were both satisfied with. The truly remarkable part of the experience came next. Within a few weeks our carpet had been delivered and was ready for install. The team that the Vertical Connection sent out were extremely pleasant and warm to deal with. They explained the process and actually finished ahead of schedule. They took the time to walk me through everything they were going to do and got right to work. A few weeks later we had the hardwood installed on the bottom level. Again, the installers came and were incredibly personable and made sure that we knew exactly what the process was going to be. They also completed the job in a way that allowed for us to go about our daily lives without really even knowing the flooring was completely torn up. They finished the job 3 days ahead of schedule and it looks perfect! I could not be happier with the outcome. I would highly recommend The Vertical Connection for ANY and ALL flooring needs. I found them to be reliable, and trustworthy, and their prices were fair! It is hard to find companies that are all of these things combined but somehow Vertical Connection makes it happen!

My wife and I recently used Vertical connection for the purchase and installation of hardwood floors and stacked stone around a fireplace. Their excellent service began with the sales floor where Steve was very patient as we decided what hardwood worked best for us. He educated us on the many aspects of hardwood floors and brought up some important points that the other companies that we considered had not even mentioned. He didnt push us to buy the most expensive floors, but helped us find the option that was best for our space. The engineered hardwood itself was much better quality than the cheaper options that we considered from several other companies in the area. While the installation of the hardwood floor was perfect, the installer accidentally chipped a tile in front of our fireplace while removing the rest of the tile in our entryway. This could have happened to anyone, but they handled it very well and gave us credit toward replacing the tile around the fireplace. The saying rings true that mistakes are bound to happen, but its how they are handled that determine the quality of a company. The installation of the stacked stone around and ceramic tile in front of our fireplace was well executed and we are thrilled with the results. Well definitely be going back to Vertical Connection for the carpet in our bedrooms and eventually the tile in our bathrooms. They have made us customers for life. Although you may find cheaper options, its more than worth a little extra for quality materials and service.

Weve been working with The Vertical Connection Carpet One for several months now and the results are nothing less than spectacular! By relying on Stephanie Buntings unique expertise, creativity and attentiveness weve been able to decorate the windows of more than a dozen rooms in our new home. Each set of window treatments is a unique expression of our style, and Stephanie has been instrumental in helping us realize our vision. She also designed a wonderful family room area rug, and oversaw the reupholstering of an artsy chair weve owned for 25 years. While Stephanie, my wife and I handled the design, selections, etc. of our window treatments, the results certainly would not have been as exquisite had they not been expertly installed. Fortunately, Scott Stemmer performs installation tasks in a truly professional fashion. Scott is well organized, diligent and most importantly, a perfectionist. His work is flawless.
