UPDATE: Presto has given me a partial refund of $119.00, thank you. Heres my story: I attempted to install a porch light on my own. It didnt work when I flipped the switch, so thinking I installed it incorrectly I called Presto Electric. I was charged $238 and told that my sensor dusk to dawn light was faulty and that I should return it to where I bought it. Richard suggested I buy a standard porch light fixture without the dusk to dawn sensor, use a CFL bulb and leave it on 24 hours a day. A friend happened to be at my house and I told him how mad I was that I spent $238 and still didnt have a working outdoor light. He picked up the light fixture and looked at it. My friend looked at the bulb! Duh! It turns out that the filament in the halogen light bulb was broken, Im referring to the bulb I had screwed into the fixture after my attempted installation. Richard didnt check the bulb already screwed into the fixture! He told me I had power at the box mounted to the house, and that the light fixture itself was bad. Dummy me, right? I should have tried another bulb before calling an electrician. (Thats sarcasm, folks.) Im $238 poorer and all I needed was a new light bulb.

Presto did an amazing job running new circuits and installing a media center in our 100 year old historic house converted to an office. Sometimes it can be tricky to have work done in an older home, and they had the experience needed to care for our delicate home. The technician was on-time, and all of the employees were very friendly and knowledgeable. They wore shoe covers so not to damage my hardwood floors, and cleaned up when they were done! The work they did was great, and a few of my neighbors and friends have already called and had them come out and work on their homes. If you want it done right the first time, call Presto!

Why did I ever let my lighting trouble go on for such a long while? Problems solved because enter Presto Electric! Yes, I was bright enough to recall a (TV?) commercial, in which the words in its melody proclaimed: "We charge by the job, not by the hour..."! Curious about Presto, I did call. An electrician came to my house that very same day repairing my bathroom lights. Now Presto (Walt) also has my kitchen glowing nicely. Work finished so quickly and accurately makes me a customer for life. In the future, Ill assuredly now know to again just: Call Presto!

I used Presto again to set up my entertainment center and they installed my chandeliar for free. Again, they did an awesome job. Highly recommend them. Presto did one helluva of a Presto job. I had them install a flat screen TV in the kitchen and I am completely satisfied. The technician was extremely professional and very knowlegdable. It is amazing how they ran the wires from the laundry room which is on one side of the house to the kitchen. Excellent services and price was reasonable. Two thumbs UP. J. Walle

I need a simple GFCI outlet replaced (aka just a regular outlet beside my kitchen sink). I know exactly what needs to be done, Presto knows exactly what it will cost to fix, BUT they refuse to give me a quote without a technician coming out to my house first. Does it really have to be this difficult? I dont have time for this, and their online reviews dont exactly "wow" me either SO Im giving my business to someone else.

Felt like they were over-charging. The second-opinion contractor quoted me $3000 less than Presto. Presto said my panel needed to be replaced and the other contractor said it was completely unnecessary. I felt like I was getting ripped-off as the Presto technician was going through my house telling me "what needed to be done."

They quoted me $198 for a simple repair, and when the job turned out to be more complicated, they charged me that full price calling it a "diagnostic charge" on top of their $59 travel charge. Over $250 for basically just an estimate. Completely unfair pricing.

They charge $59 to schedule a visit to your home and refuse to give any information about the cost over the phone (they wouldnt even give a range of prices). Needless to say, they didnt get my business.

I called in just asking for some information and the gentleman started off nice and he totally flipped and was just being pushy. CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT dont ever forget that

Presto came to my home to replace a ceiling fan in my great room with an 18 ceiling. They were on time, clean, and did a professional job. Would recommend them to anyone.

They wanted 59 for a travel fee and wouldnt give any other information over the phone. I said no thanks. They should really get rid of this if they want business.
