We went to Thomas Scott Salon 1 week before my wedding appointment because I wanted to talk with the woman that does my hair and make sure she could do what I wanted. I did not feel confident on the girl that did my hair Casey and I dont know if it was just a bad day or if she just did not care. It was a kind whatever. So, by the day of my wedding I want to the salon and told her I wanted my hair straightened and then curled. And she said "I will do it". When she was doing my hair I asked her, "Are you going to straighten my whole hair?" and she responded, "Oh no, I cannot straighten your hair and then curl it because the curls will not hold". I got frusturated because it was not what I asked. So she did my hair Her Way and asked if I liked it. I said "No" and I could see she did not like my answer because of her expression. She said she would figure out a way to fix my hair the way I wanted it. She continued to say Your hair looks gorgeous, your hair looks great, etc.. So she did my hair. It wasnt totally bad but it was not like the picture that I took to her as an example of what I wanted. She also did my make up and also I took to her a picture of the make up that I wanted. So she kept saying, "The make up was not like the way that I wanted and I asked her about a kind of make-up and continued to give her opinion about something different like I was supposed to continue to agree. So resuming she did my make-up also and I did not like it. My make up was not what I wanted, my eye shadow was pretty light/white and nothing of my make-up was good. I wanted my face more golden and illuminated but she made it so white I could tell the difference between my face color and the color of the rest of my body. I asked her about a nude lipstick color on my lips and she gave me brown instead. I told her before she finished that I did not like it and she said she would put another color on it that would change it. But I said No I do not want brown lipstick. She did not like my response again so she cleaned my lips and put on another color. I asked for touch-up make up to make sure it would last the whole day and night but she said I would not need it because she was sure 100% that it would last long. For me it was strange because every make up artist does this. My husband called and talked with them that I did not like it and their only solution was to give us a gift certificate 1/3 the total cost of our problem/service. Im pretty dissatisfied with the service and I do not recommend anyone goes there.

Their customer service is not focused on solving the problem only defensive comments. If you go in for blond coloring and come out with brown their response is you look great! When you contact the general manager the next day after reflecting on not getting the color you had asked for there response is defensive. They do not explain how they will take care of the situation. They respond with "we did the best we could" and "I dont understand you seemed ok with it the night before". When you request that they fix it they make it clear they think you are complaining only to get something for free. There is no the-customer-is-always-right attitude or appearance of doing whatever they can to make the customer happy. When you ask to escalate to the owner you are informed that the general manager has 20+ years of experience working with the owner and she will be sure to pass it on. Bottom-line: For being a little pricier than most the customer service is worse than the Hair Cuttery!

I treated myself to some much needed indulgence, I set up an appointment at this salon for a basic massage and their signature facial. I was taken to the spa and it was beautiful and very clean. I was offered a fizzy fruit drink and a piece of chocolate, already off to a great start. I got my feet soaked in warm soapy water while Nikki, the massage therapist, talked to me about what my concerns were and what I wanted her to work on. The massage was amazing, it got me totally relaxed. Now off to my facial with Rebekah, she dipped my hands in paraffin and did my facial. While the mask was sitting on she rubbed my feet with lotion and put on these warm booties on them. She made some suggestions of skincare I should use but wasnt too pushy. What an absolute treat!!! The price was very reasonable, especially for all the extras that I wasnt expecting. Most spas charge a lot more for hand and feet treatments. I highly commend this spa!! I look forward to my next visit.

Totally loved this place! I walked into this salon on a whim just to look at their brochure of services offered. I asked if they took walk ins and explained that I had no idea what I wanted my hair to look like when I walked out of there. The ladies at the front desk were very nice and told me YES! they do take walk-ins, and then set me up with Meghan. Meghan was great!! She explained everything to me as she went along and asked meaningful questions to ensure she was giving me a haircut I would like. I walked out of there like a new person and in total love with my hair. I even booked a facial for next month! The staff is great, the stylists are wonderfully creative, and the salon is clean. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great haircut and great, friendly, and talented people.

I have been going to Thomas Scott Salon & Spa for 15 years; Alex is my Hairstylist/Hair Artist who always knows what I need to have done, especially on those days when I am feeling like I need a pick me up (weve all been there). My 29 year old daughter also went to Alex almost 8 years until she moved away; he did the most amazing hairstyle for her senior prom. I have recommended several people to Alex over the years and they have been very happy as well. The staff is very pleasant making you feel comfortable from the time you walk in the door until you leave. When my mother passed away 11 years ago, Alex sent the most beautiful, amazing flowers! You are not treated like just someone off the street at Thomas Scott Salon & Spa, you are treated like family! They take the time to get to really know you.

I just moved to Frederick and was concerned it would be difficult to find a good stylist. I have thick, wavy hair, which I wear very short, and I do best with a stylist who is comfortable cutting hair while its dry. I called Thomas Scott and told them this and they suggested Kami. I had my appointment with her today and couldnt be happier with the results. She did an amazing job. I cant tell you how many years I have had to come home from my hair appts and wash and redo my hair to make it feel like "me". But I left my appointment with Kami LOVING how my hair looked. She made it soft and shiny and pretty. If you are looking for a short, trendy haircut, or have thick wavy hair -- Kami is your gal. Though I bet she would do well with any type of hair. Shes an absolute pro.
