I have very curly, very thick, long hair and will only go to hair stylists trained in cutting curly hair (after a lifetime of bad experiences). Im thrilled with my cut and highlights done by Alexa Zagorites, she is highly skilled at cutting and styling curly hair, and the highlights are some of the best Ive had in over 10 years of getting them done. Alexa took her time and even gave me a deep conditioning glaze treatment at no cost because it would help the color come out better. From the moment I walked in I felt welcomed and comfortable, and every staff member was attentive, friendly and made me feel pampered. Not one mention of purchasing products from the salon or pushing products at all, which is a refreshing change from other salons in the area. The other clients getting services done all left with great looking hair and were happy. Will definitely be a regular client!

Margaret Murphy is the BEST Hairdresser around!!! My teenage sons and I have been going to her for ten years. The boys always have a new style with a picture for her to transform their hair into "this month". Margaret always welcomes new ideas and new hair styles. She always makes them happy! For myself, I have always gotten many compliments on the cut and the color of my hair. (Both are Margarets doing. ) I never know what I want so I just sit down and start conversation and in no time she has me looking fabulous!!! Modern Concepts is the most inviting hair salon around. They offer you great service and drinks/snacks while your waiting.

Most people agree finding a new "personal groomer" (hair dresser, nail tech, etc.) is one of the most difficult/scariest part of moving from one place to another. Thanks to reviews of Modern Concepts Salon, when I called for an appt, I was asked several specific questions and placed with Caitlin, a hair dresser who intuited just what I needed. While my hair seemed to initially be darker than Id expected - she explained that since my hair fades fast that a week later the color would be perfect - and it is! The cut is terrific! Zoila did a fantastic job on my pedicure. Yes - Ive already booked my return visit!

Kami has done my hair twice since coming from Dallas to NVA. Its always a nervous feeling to have a new hairdresser, especially when you have been with the same one for over 7 years. She did a beautiful job on my color and cut and I will most definitely continue to come back. Just two weeks ago I chopped all of my hair off to a short haircut and was riding the metro today and a Metro worker (yellow safety vest and all) was walking with me up the stairs in downtown DC and said, "great haircut!" They train constantly, the experience there is fun, you leave feeling refreshed and beautiful - and your cut and color does not lose shape or brilliance over time. The facials are AMAZING!! My skin is healthy and brilliant. You feel like a goddess when you leave! AND, the mani/pedi is sinful - and they last! Five weeks and my nails look like they were done yesterday.
