Ive been training at this facility for almost 2 years now, and it is one of the few things that keeps me from moving too far. Ive tried most of their programs and they are all vigorous and challenging. The boxing program has some well trained coaches that push their students through rigorous training. The jiu-jitsu program covers both Gaijin Ryu and Gracie BJJ (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu), The combination and the instruction provides a great deal of experience and ability to the students Ive trained with and seen train. The I Love Kickboxing program is a great workout that can put you through your paces and have you tired and sweating in a short hour. Check out the ilovekickboxing Reisterstown Facebook page for some of the stuff they do. Lastly, my favorite program is the Muay Thai program. There are 5 Muay Thai classes a week, which I rarely miss. There are both beginner and Advanced classes to accommodate all levels of experience. The beginner class focuses on technique and body mechanics to get students started on their road to advancement. The advanced class pushes technique, endurance, self defense, and sport/competition training. Coach Brian, the head coach of the program, is very knowledgeable, a great instructor, and extremely dedicated to his students. With his years and variety of experience, he keeps classes interesting and engaging. He also teaches the Womens self defense class at the facility. Overall, going to train at this facility is the highlight of most of my days, and I would recommend it to anyone.

This place is great! We have been customers of American Kenpo Karate for a little over 5 yrs. We started our oldest son when he was 5 in the evening program. We then switched him over to the after school program 3 years ago an we love it! The staff is great with kids, plus by the time we pick him in the afternoon his homework an martial arts class is done. Allowing us to have the evening free. He has become more focused in school, plus he has so much confidences now. Great program! He also attends the summer camp, We use to send him to a different camp a few years ago to give him a break from the karate. But after attend American Kenpos camp last year he would not go any other place. They do so much with the kids every day. Plus I like that it is structured. Our youngest son who is 4 is in the lil dragons program now, and wow what a great program for that age group. Their classes are fun an exciting but also learning all kinds of skills, We have seen such a improvement in him with his social skills, giving him much needed confidence. He will be able to move in to after school program next :). I also enjoy taking the Kickboxing classes a few time a week. What a great work out an stress reliever! They have many programs to choose from. We highly recommend American Kenpo to everyone.

Ive had 2 kids go through this program and it has changed alot for the worse, early on they were all about the kids and then it became about the money as they grew and it showed with the attitudes of the ownership and instructors,The young kids in the program spend all day in school and then are picked up by kenpo which is great,The problem is the yelling and screaming at these young kids by the instructors. This school tries to show extreme discipline to children which is overboard.Ive spoke to alot of parents of other children and they are looking at other options as well.Which was once a nice option for after school care and learning experience is now way to extreme for young kids in my opinion. I will be sending my child to the JCC for after school care and learning.... And yes after 8 years of dealing with Kenpo 2kids 4years apiece not 8 straight years. And Matt in response to your response my last name is Cohen,You know exactly who we are. they are all about the money, like i said early on this place was great. This is not the Military ,These are kids Good Luck

One day I was just browsing the internet and I came across kenpo karate studios so I decided to look at the website and saw the great prices they were offering for class so I entered my son into the self defense class and my son took his first class and he loved it and while he was in his class I had the opportunity to look at the other class that was going on and I was so excited just to see how the other classes were doing so now Ive decided that I am going to join one of the classes Im torn between which class to take all of them look so great I really like the fitness kickboxing and the TRX class I see that will be long time customers because I said my son loves it and Im sure I will love whatever class I will take boy I am so wondering if I could even keep up with it Im a little bit out of fitness game but Im sure once I get into it I will adjust and for many years I never even knew they were there in that area because I sure I would have joined long time ago keep up the good work guys along with the great prices

We have used the American Kenpo Karate after school program and summer camp program for the last two years and are looking forward to our third year. My son absolutely loves going there. The programs teach respect, discipline, and physical fitness while still being fun for students of all ages. The instructors are so engaging and really commit to the success of each child. Students advance through the belt levels only as they are ready, but with continued support and guidance to reach those benchmarks. My son already talks about when he is old enough to be a junior instructor! The studio also does a lot of work in the community, supports the local elementary schools with donations and participation in events, and works with other community groups. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone interested in the camp, the after school program, or the evening classes.

After 2 years of sending my son to summer camp, his third year will be the last. We usually pay for camp early when we have the funds, this year my spouse recently took a new job and we will be moving. We asked American Kenpo for a refund on the ~1,600 enrollment we paid. I can understand keeping the registration fee, but not refunding the rest is ridiculous. Especially after my son had an incident last year, with stolen property. The counselors did very little in the way of investigating and making us feel like it would not happen again. There were also numerous complaints of kids taking other kids food and money from backpacks in the community locker rooms. So my money will now go towards these kids going to camp and stealing more stuff from the other kids there. Thank American Kenpo
