Joined the gym almost 5 months ago after a lot of research of local (Annapolis/Edgewater/Bowie) gyms, from pricing, to what was offered, to reviews, and I have to say that Im very happy with my choice of Planet Fitness Bowie! I had never been to a gym prior to joining and I have experienced nothing but good things, from the employees to the other guests! People are very friendly and the gym, equipment and locker/bathrooms, are kept clean (I cant speak on the showers because I havent used them). They offer several classes that are good for beginners to experienced level and the trainer, Troy, is amazing! There is another trainer as well but I do not have experience with him. Troys style is exactly what I need! He challenges you, pushes you, learns your limits and what you can and cant do, all with a positive, encouraging attitude! Just about everyone in the gym knows Troy and, he knows everyones names as well, which is impressive for so many members, but it shows how personal he is with the clients! The gym has only been crowded a handful of times but never to the point I cant get my workout in. Rarely have I seen equipment broken and within days it is fixed. I am very happy with my choice, and the extra $10 a month for the massage chairs and water massage is totally worth It! Tanning beds are also included in the "Black Card Membership"

Staff was great when this place first opened, but they have since been replaced by lazy and rude people. Its got cardio and weightlifting equipment, and thats about it. It doesnt have a pool or a tennis court or any other stupid s*** thankfully. There is no Wi-Fi available here, and cell phone reception is about as good as while riding the subway. You are not allowed to talk on your phone, but you can text or anything else that doesnt make noise. Ive never had a problem with any of the other gym members beyond what you would find at any gym (people leaving weights on the ground when they finish, that one creeper who picks the treadmill right next to you when all the treadmills are open, etc.) Still, this place is a much better bargain than the nearby SportFit gym, which is about $40 a month for their bare bones package. Sportfit also has rude lazy employees, many of their machines are consistently broken, and the other gym patrons can be real d***s. Edit 6/28/2013: Since first writing this review this location now has Wi Fi !

I LOVE planet fitness because it makes me feel so alive! I am up at 4 am, then I am driving from 5:30-6 am. Get to work about 6:30 am. I am at work from 6:30 to 5:00 pm. I then go to PF and get there by 6:00 pm. I am back home around 7:00 pm. fix dinner then bed by 8 pm and up again at 4. This is on Monday-Friday. I now sometimes with the neighbors at the tree church until school starts or we have a neighborhood meeting. I would be lost without a few minutes to myself and that is what Planet Fitness allows me. I am not catering, working, cooking or cleaning. It is all me and what I like to do for myself. I feel so much better and confident. I look better and have more energy. I am safe inside the facility there are cameras monitoring us and our vehicles. I get a HIGH FIVE and a Hello and hope you enjoyed your time. It is wonderful! I close my eyes sometimes and just let the manual machines do the rest. Thanks Guys at Catonsville, Md. Granny Loves you!!!

My experience has been exceptional. I have been exercising for going on 4 weeks now. My free trainer Troy set up a program just for me, a 70 year old woman who is overweight and has no abs due to 7 children....and my plan is not just like anyone elses. It is challenging, but he told me how to adjust daily as needed, He told me we will adjust as I grow in strength. I went to another Gym before and paid a whole lot more than $10 a month to be treated by a trainer (who gave me one whole free session) , who set up a program like I was 30 and in great shape. It has been so easy to adjust this program as I need (again free) and to keep going because it all makes sense!! I love the convenience of 24/7...I can go as early or as late as I like and even more important, while I have felt muscles I have not felt in years, I have not injured myself as I did at that other Gym.

I have always loved Planet Fitness. I was sold the membership being told that whether Im visiting my parents or traveling with my husband I could use any planet fitness. I am just settling into the Annapolis area and trying to find which gym is closest to me. DO NOT GO HERE. First off, you dont just scan your cards and get to working out. You are forced to wait in a long line while a sweaty guy (who is not in proper attire for working) man handles your keys while inspecting you key tag. Then without even typing anything into the system told me that I have to pay $10 to work out tonight. Are you kidding? I already paid $10 in my monthly fee! My address in the system says Maryland, Tell me why I cant work out at a Maryland gym without paying double? He was rude and unprofessional. If Im going to be forced to pay extra Ill take my business elsewhere.

I really like this place. It has great equipment (brand new, in fact) for just about any cardio or strength exercise you would want to do. The staff is friendly and helpful. Theres plenty of parking and its open round the clock. I was a member at Golds Gym before I joined Planet Fitness and Planet Fitness is much better. It great for the individual who wants to exercise without being intimidated by all the muscle bound body builders or over crowded classes of women in spandex. Its just a pleasant place to do your thing without the "judgement".

Present staff are not good when it comes to good customer service. This place is average when it comes to equipment and atmosphere. I guess for $10 a month you can only expect so much. As far as being allowed to talk on the phone, I will talk on MY phone where and whenever I decide to talk on it. No one can tell a person what to do with their property. World wake up and stop giving into a system of control. There are other gyms better than this one. I would never go here again. In comparison to this gym, you could do so much better at home.

I absolutely love my gym at the Landover, MD location. The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. I take Adrienes training classes and they are very challenging yet fun. My daughters and I have seen major improvements since taking his classes and its almost time to shop for a smaller size! Thanks to Adriene I am meeting my fitness goals. Thank you and congratulations to the wonderful staff at PF for running such a top notch facility. You guys consistently provide the best services to your clients!!

Hello all, I joined Planet Fitness a little over a month ago and its the best experience ever. Why? let me tell you. It opens 24/7. That means you go on your own time not a set time that really doesnt work for you. Even more so, they have the best instructors. I took one 30 minute class last Saturday, I believe it was called Body Fit and the instructor Troy was the best. No pressure. Hes great. Awesome class great 30 minute workout. Only thing I want to say, is TGFPF.... Thank God for Planet Fitness...
