Small Wonders Day Care is an exceptional day care center with teachers and staff that genuinely cares about the welfare and development of your child. If you are interested in sending your child here, please do so with the confidence that your child will be safe and taken care of with no harm done to them. Below is my response to a review placed on Yahoo by a disgruntled parent whose child was biting the other children. If you came across this review, please disregard and give it no credence. The parent does not tell the truth at all about the incident and Small Wonders is another home for my son. Review from Yahoo... Albani why would you lie on Small Wonders in such a manner. You should use your time to seek help for yourself. Your precious 19-month old daughter was biting the other kids in her class. You know it and refuse to accept responsibility for it. Anyone reading this post, please do not take any credence to the post dated May 14, 2011. My son was a victim of Albanis daughter biting. And as with all the kids in Small Wonders, Mrs. Leonor Grooms was protecting my son from being bit again by Albanis daughter. She NEVER slapped her daughter as she wants to portray. She placed her hand over her mouth because my son was crying and was trying to prevent the little girl from biting him again. This concerned parent never even asked about my son or cared about her daughter biting the kids. Her daughter bit another child that same morning. Small Wonders Day Care is a respectable, responsible, reliable center that have teachers with great professionalism and genuine care for the kids. You can feel safe leaving your babies in this environment. Small Wonders has been in business for at least 10 years and has never experienced such a hateful, vindictive parent such as Albani. Please, I implore you to disregard her review and visit the center for yourself. No harm is coming to any of the children at Small Wonders. Only thing that is being exploited is great LOVE for everyone. I agree with review of August 31, 2011. Mrs. Grooms is a God-fearing, lovely woman and loves all the children in or out of her care and would never raise a hand to hurt any of them. She is more amazing and has been advised to sue Albani but because of her loving nature has decided to take the high road and pray for her. She is an AMAZING woman, who has experience nothing but heartache from this vindictive woman. Dont be a victim of Albanis yellow journalism or propaganda...

Small Wonder has been a second family to my family. When I moved to Montgomery County over 8 years ago, I was in search of a place that felt safe for my then 4 1/2 year old. After searching high and low, my husband and I met with Mr. Grooms and he welcome my family to his establishment with open arms. My daughter is now approaching 13. I have had 2 additional children attend this loving daycare and one that still attends to this day. My children love Mr. & Mrs. Grooms like their grandparents as well as the rest of the staff. To this day my children attend Small Wonder for summer camp. We travel approximately an hour, one way, just for our children to attend Small Wonder. They have taken such great care of our children from the eldest to the youngest. We are a proud black family, and it is to our dismay to read some of the posts which suggest that Mr. Grooms is abusive and doesn’t like little black children. It is the exact opposite he and his entire family & staff have nothing but love for all of the children that attend small wonder. Every time I come to small wonder Ms. Alcira is helping a student with homework or one of the staff members at small wonder is attending to a child’s needs. I have never seen or heard from my children of any sort of abuse of any kind in almost ten years that my children have attended Small Wonder. Mr. Grooms and his family and staff go out of the way to ensure that all of the children are safe, fed, clean educated and overall happy. I will not take my children any other place but Small Wonders and the distance I travel on a daily basis proves how much I trust my children with Small Wonder and the whole entire staff and family. Thank you to the Small Wonder family for taking such good care of my children!!!!

My children ranging from age 4-14 have been attending this daycare since 2012. My youngest son began when he was only 6 weeks. The curriculum is great! My 4 year old is ready to begin school and I am sure well ahead of his peers. The three older children are always given help with homework after school and if for any reason they come into the center without any, there is some provided. My children have NEVER complained of abuse, or any form of neglect while in the care of the staff. The staff always goes above and beyond to make the children feel welcome and also at home. Prior to 2012 my children had never been in a child care environment because I was always afraid of what could happen. I feel very safe leaving my children in the care of the staff.

My son has been with Small Wonders since he was 2. I couldnt have asked for anymore from a daycare. They were so attentive to his needs, and very respectful and caring. One thing I hate about some daycares is that they run like an institution and rub rules and procedures in your face all the time (my older daughters day care was like that, I hated it!). Small Wonders never made me feel that I was dealing with a system. Their human approach makes me feel like they actually care about my son. And I dont feel anxious leaving him. He is now 4 and a half and will leave for kindergarten this year. I couldnt be more sad that this is his last year here. They have been a family to me for the last 2+ years!!

This place is not a safe place to leave your children ,they are physically abuse by the owner Mr Grooms. The stories that have been reported to me from children who are left in this man s care are horrendous. I have personally seen this man verbally and physically abuse the children left in his care in public. I reported it, but I guess it fell on death ears because he is still allowed to operate in montgomery county maryland. He is a horrible old white man who has no love for the little black children who are left with him for hours behind close doors. I really am appalled by the way he treats these children. I will follow up with the authority who oversees theses centers.

Affordable, Dependable and Reliable.My 9-year-old twins love this daycare.. The staff and owner are very friendly. I have a piece of mind when I leave them in the mornings to go to work. Knowing that their in a caring and safe environment means so much. This family owned child care center has invested quality time to get to know my children and understand their needs. The owner and his daughter has been a positive male role model in my sons life and help him to understand right from wrong.
