Bob is the kind of contractor that everybody wants and would like to work with. He is very knowledgeable about his trade, totally honest and extremely responsible. I have been using him for over 10 years. Each time he does a job for me he explains what the code requirements are, what he will do and how he will do it. He never takes shortcuts or seems to be in a hurry. His estimates are dead-on accurate, although one time he did a job for me based on a satisfactory estimate. When it came time to pay the bill, it was for less than the estimate. When I questioned him about it, he said that the job did not take as long as he thought and he passed the savings on to me. When he has an employee working with him, he makes sure that individual also works to the same high standards that he does, including a careful cleaning of the job site. You will not find a better electrician anywhere!

I had the need to hire an electrician. I contacted Helms Electric. Told them what my electrical issues were, and they were out the next day giving me suggestions on what it would take to repair and update my kitchen lights, the fuse blowing problem that I had, plus other problems. Bob called me with an estimate, which was very reasonable, and said he could also do it in a timely fashion. Helms Electric came out, and repaired everything I needed. Bob the owner took as much time explaining the process as they want along, and even made a couple of on the fly changes that were no problem to them. I could not be happier with the job that Helms Electric did, and I would recommend them to anyone!! Thanks, Dave

After a flood had wiped out the finished part of our basement, we had used this opportunity to finish the entire basement. We had called 5 electricians for estimates. We decided to go with Helms Electric because of Bobs attention to detail, the patience that he showed us to explain what needed to be done, and his diverse amount of ideas that he had proposed as we explained our needs. And lets not forget about his competitive prices! I will recommend his company to anyone. For next time, I dont need to receive estimates from 5 or 6 different contractors. I look forward to working with them in the future. All of my lights are shining bright!

Very happy to have worked with Helms Electric! The owner (Bob) not only gave the quote but also performed the work. I had under cabinet lighting installed and he explained the process in detail so that I wouldnt be surprised. I appreciate that he was so thorough, which also showed in the quality of his work. He and his helper cleaned up afterwards and all in all it was a very pleasant contractor experience. Hes definitely my go-to electrician from now on!

Found them on Google while looking for an electrician to install a line for our garbage disposal, and also to fix our pool pumps switch that stopped working 2 days prior. Well, I felt like a fool when they fixed the pool pump in 5 seconds by switching a breaker in a breaker box that I didnt know existed. But they ran a line for the garbage disposal quickly and perfectly. 5/5, would use again and recommend to anyone looking in the Harford Co. area!

I needed an L2 EVSE installed and Bob came through with flying colors. Efficient, quick, courteous and professional, I would recommend Helms Electric to anyone needing a solid and reliable electrician. In the past year Ive also asked Bob to install a 240V water heater timer, which was installed professionally and works very well. I will continue to call Bob for any and all home electrical work. Oh and his fees are fair as well!

Weve had Bob handle several of our electrical problems in recent years and hes always been highly professional, knowledgeable, thorough….and on time! We just had a few very minor outlets and switch issues that he and his assistant took care of quickly…as his web site says, no job too small. Helms came out today to replace two porch lights I thought werent working. Turns out it was the switch, but I had them change out the lights, anyway. They were right on time, in and out within an hour, extremely courteous and very reasonable charge. Would recommend and will use again next time I need any electrical work done.

Not only did Mr Helms put up my new over the stove microwave but be put up my new cabinet as well. He was patient with me, I messaged him the pictures of the cabinet and measurements on his phone! needless to say he did a fabulous job. First and last time I will use Helmes. $180 dollars labor for 20 min of work! They never gave an estimate just went right to work. Shame on me I guess for not assuming they were going to gouge me. Bobs partner Wes is nice and knowledgeable but stay away from this company unless you are ok with getting ripped off.
