I brought my car in because of a check engine light and I needed an inspection sticker. I really regret going to Custom Auto. They found that I needed a new catalytic converter and quoted me $1100. I called around to other shops and it seemed to be a fair price so I agreed to have it done. They said they would knock $200 off if I did not want them to replace the Oxygen sensor. I told them not to. Since they did not have the parts, I picked up the car that night and agreed to drop it off a few days later. When I picked up the car, there were new warning lights for the VSA. This was the first sign of trouble. A week later I brought the car back and when I picked it up they installed the Oxygen sensor and charged me the full $1100. I was frustrated but begrudgingly paid the amount. When I left, the VSA lights were still on and now TWO MORE WARNING LIGHTS! Every time I dropped my car off there were more issues... I went back and they now found that an ABS sensor was broken (it was fine when I dropped the car off) and I paid another $70 to have that replaced. When I asked how this happened, the employee named Manny got very defensive and went as far as to threaten to "kick my ***." I could not believe it! The owners wife told me to ignore him. This place is shady at best, I have since talked to people in town and several people have had a similar experience. I felt it necessary to write this as a warning for locals who were considering bringing a car in for repair. At the same time, if you know of a good local mechanic, let me know on G+ Alexander

Stay away from this place... I purchased a used vehicle from them and 2 days later the check engine light came on. They reset the system and told me that it was common in cars that have been sitting. The light came back on and I had to get a rejected inspection sticker. The light and sticker were fixed after several visits back there. I then started to notice the car was running rough and saw some oil on the ground one day while pulling away. Again, brought it back and they charged me to replace the gaskets on both the oil pan and transmission pan. 2 visits later the oil level was still depleting. The car is there now with rear brake issues, the oil level is running low every few weeks, and the car runs like crap. I asked for a mutual agreement on them buying the vehicle back and they tried saying the car is running low on fuel and the oil changes were a little late and that is the cause of the issues. I am now having to pursue legal action. *** Update: they finally agreed on a settlement buyback and put the car back on the lot for sale.

Ive been going to Custom Auto for three years now. When I first started going there I had a car with over 250,000 miles and it wasnt running very well. I told them I needed to make that car last another 6 months until I could afford a new one. They were extremely helpful in laying out all my options, highlighting what fixes should be higher priorities than others, and they included the costs of all the options. Two weeks prior to purchasing a new car, my tires went out, and they were able to refer me to a really good (and cheap) used tire sales place. Needless to say I continue to bring my new car there for my inspections and oil changes. I trust their judgment and service. Great family operated business.
