We used Gentle Movers for a move from Cambridge to Andover, MA on August 1st, 2015, moving from a ground floor one bedroom to a two story house. I called around to a number of moving companies before deciding to plan my move with Gentle Movers. Not only were the prices competitive, but the customer service was great. Gentle Movers was in touch a couple of times leading up to the move to help coordinate things like parking permits for the trucks, to calling the afternoon before the move to confirm everything and to see if we needed any last minute packing materials or assistance. Given the stress associated with a move, I though this was a great touch. The day of the move also went off without a hitch. The movers arrived within the promised time slot. Our movers Han and Armagan were courteous and polite and a pleasure to work with. It was a hot day for them, but they worked with speed and efficiency, while taking care of our belongings. We had a number of fragile items to be moved, and we could tell that they treated those with extra care, keeping those boxes marked fragile for the very end so that nothing would be stacked on top of them. The unloading of the truck at our new home also went very smoothly. They beat us to our house and were ready to go as soon as we got there. Again they took care of our belongings, but also of our walls, ceilings and floors, ensuring nothing was banged or dinged. They also helped put together and arrange some of the furniture. The whole move was completed in the expected time frame, and a day I was expecting to be rife with stress went as smoothly as I could have hoped. Thank you!

I am very grateful to Gentle Movers for saving us from a disaster today. The movers we had booked a month ago called in the morning to cancel, their truck had broken down. Then they suggested we call Gentle Movers, gave us their South Boston number. I called and got a live person. That in itself was a surprise, I told him the situation that we had to relocate our offices today. He said he could make it happen and within 2 hours 2 trucks and 4 movers showed up. They loaded up seven offices in 4 hours unloaded in 3 hours and we were done in 8 hours including the drive time. We will do our unpacking tomorrow, Sunday. We should be all set to restart work at our new offices as of Monday morning. If it were not for Gentle Movers ability to act so quickly, this would not have been possible. Our offices would have been closed on Monday and few more days thereafter. I was very angry with the other moving company in the morning but now I dont feel as bad about them. At least they had the sense of recommending a great moving company to pick up the ball and run with it. No hard feelings.I also want to recognize the movers especially the foreman Dave was excellent. They worked quick and well organized. I recommend this company very highly for office jobs. Thank you Gentle Movers for saving us from a disaster.

All of these 5 star reviews are from their staff. Very unprofessional, I asked them when I could expect them and they gave me a very small window of any time between 6-12. As the day progressed we called them at 10.30 and were told they were less than two miles away and would be there before the hour. 11.30 and no sign or call from them. They finally showed up at 1.20 and tried to force an extra mover on us which we didnt agree to. The lead foreman was always pressing attitude and trying to pressure us to sign legal documents we didnt agree with. They left our couch in the middle of the hallway and left without a word. Finally they charged us for a third mover even though we had never signed a contract agreeing to it and specifically requested two movers. After calling them 15 times over three days and being continuously put off and swept aside I was forced to take legal matters. Would not recommend, not worth any amount of money.

We had a wonderful experience with your company. We moved on June 20, 2014. I was 4 days overdue (and in active labor that morning) with my 2nd child and moving that afternoon. Booking with you guys was easy. Abyh, in customer service, is great and the movers themselves were friendly, patient and more than careful with our stuff. They moved us from a 3rd floor condo to a 3-floor house on a 90 degree day. The previous owners used you guys as well that same morning. When their moving truck pulled away, ours pulled right up! I can’t say enough about how impressed we were at their ability to get us in and out. Thankfully, my daughter waited just a few hours after the move to be born. Thank you, Gentle Movers!

They hire drug addicts, most of their drivers dont follow the DOT regulation. The few good drivers they do have leave shortly. They have the highest turn over rate for sub contractors not employees sub contractors for their tax invasion. They dont do criminal background check. I know they owner personally. Hes shady and a con. He drives solid people to quit. By cheating them out of money by paying the flexible rate. Half the time he doesnt the drivers from the start location to the customer house. His instate drivers dont follow DOT regulation. I know personally thats fact. Please stop using gentle movers. This man doesnt respect CDL holders.

They were the most ignorant uncaring workers Ive ever experience. I went so far as to complain to the Transportation Department about their practices. Although there was a large enough parking area on the street adjacent to the corner building to which they were moving furniture, the driver and workers parked in the middle of the road blocking traffic. They took great pleasure in frustrating drivers and proceeded to slow down their unloading and moving. The furniture didnt fare much better with their careless attitude. Avoid! Not worth it no matter what the price.

These "Gentle Movers" just charged my daughter $800 for a less than two hour move because THE DRIVER GOT LOST. These people charge from the time they are dispatched until they unload the last box. What a rip off! Getting lost is not a valid excuse for charging more!! They literally had to move a few boxes and some furniture a few miles away... and they got lost getting to the first place. If there was an option to choose zero stars thats what they deserve! They received a VERY good tip then ripped her off big time! DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!

They did all of the heavy lifting, and worked quickly and efficiently, which is honestly why I hired movers instead of doing everything myself. Unfortunately at the end of the day my wine rack was broken, a picture frame was broken, one of my "fragile" boxes was not handled with care and several Willow Tree figures were broken, my bed was put together incorrectly, there was a large deep scratch on my dresser. A lot of casualties for one move. But, at least I didnt have to do all the heavy lifting myself...

I moved with GEntle Movers week ago to my new home in Quincy. From start to finish my experience was smooth. I had a 2 man crew who moved my 1br apartment from southie out to Quincy. I recommend this company to anyone looking to move from and to anywhere. Customer service was polite and they called me first regarding travel time and follow up without me having to call them which was nice for a change.
