I love this place! Its become my second home. I never expected that after my groupon was up Id continue. Ive never stuck with any workout routine longer than a few weeks. Id stop and start again. Ive always worked out at home with different workout dvds. Ive never played sports. I never considered myself the type to go to group classes. Now I cant imagine not going to crossfit. Its become a great part of my daily routine. Lynn has always been so friendly and welcoming. The rest of the coaches are also so nice and welcoming. The coaches are very encouraging and quick to correct form. Its much like personal training in a group setting. If you told me last year Id be passionate about lifting weights and working out I wouldnt believe you. I cant imagine my life without crossfit or CFSS!

As someone who got away from organized group training because I felt like I wasnt getting what I needed at a conventional gym Im really excited to be back training in a like minded community of functional athletes. Health, exercise & training to me is about more then just getting big, how much weight you can push or pull & nonfunctional routines that target muscle groups for aesthetics. There is nothing wrong with any of that but its just not my jam. Ive got a physical profession and I rely on my body functioning optimally to feed my family. What Jonathan provides for me is a training program that allows me to improve my flexibility/mobility, gain strength without compromising my physical health and immerse me in a culture of positivity and health conscious minded people.

Since joining CrossFit South Shore, Ive gained strength, stamina, energy, and lost nearly 30 lbs in the process. Its not an overstatement to say it has been a life changing experience for me. CrossFit South Shore is unique because the lead trainer is schooled in and has a degree in physical fitness. This is not a second career for him or something he does on the side. Im wary of boxes where the trainer has a full time job and owns the gym as a side job. The culture of this box is inclusion and slow and steady progress. The coaches emphasize mobility and doing the movements in the right way to minimize injury and keep you coming back. The athletes/members are supportive and run the gamut of experience and ability.

I was introduced to the South Shore Crossfit team via the New You Challenge that they put together. This 6-week course was specifically designed for the 50+ age group and it was without question extremely well-received and successful not only in assisting us in reaching our fitness goals, yet also in providing us with a good baseline of fitness to continue. The most impactful beyond the physical benefits was the sense of team, the welcoming and non-judgemental friendliness of the current athletes, and the sense of accomplishment with each skill learned.

This place is like my second home and the people make you feel as special as family. The coaches are amazing and I have learned so much over the past year. I have been to other crossfit gyms, but CrossFit South Shore is by far, the best place. If you want to make new friends you never thought you needed, get in the best shape of your life and completely change the way you view diet and exercise (without even realizing it), then you should come to this place!
