I never write reviews but I am just so upset over this...Soooo really long story but here goes. My issues with this salon began before I even walked in. I called the salon to ask the price for full color and was quoted 115. I then asked if there would be an extra fee for long thick hair and I was told there was not. As soon as I sit down, my stylist (who also happened to be the owner ) tells me the price will be 115 and an additional 20 per tube extra that he would have to used on me and said that he would probably have to use 3-4 extra tubes ($175-195). I am undecided at this point whether to pay the extra money since it is so much more than I expected to pay. He tells me that he can do a partial highlight on me and that I would get results close to a picture that I had shown him. He told me it wouldnt be as vibrant but it would be close. He quotes the partial highlights at 150. I decide to go ahead with this price as it is middle ground and I was expecting to get something close to what I wanted even if it wasnt exact. So as hes working on my hair, and washing the color out, he repeatedly jokingly complained about/complimented my long thick hair. It got the point that I just offered to flat iron my hair at home to cut him a bit of slack if he would blow it a little straight. He promptly agreed to that but instead of even trying to straighten my hair a bit he just stuck me under the hair dryer and said I could leave whenever I was ready. When I got to the register I was charged 165 instead of the 150 he quoted me but I just let it go as it was only a bit extra. After his 20% tip my bill came to $197. When I straightened my hair at home I was so disappointed! My color was so subtle and nothing at all like the picture I brought in. I called him the next day and told him that I was not really satisfied with my results and he immediately got rude, defensive, did not once empathize with my dissatisfaction and proceeded to tell me "his" color and application was perfect. He told me to come in to see him. I went to see him today (a week after I got my hair done) and asked him what could be done about the fact that I am not happy with my results and he tells me he can add more highlights but he would have to charge me. I have never heard of a salon that charges customers when they are not satisfied. I then told him that if I knew the color would be so subtle I would have just paid the extra 30 bucks to just dye my whole hair that color. He then proceeded to tell me that dying my entire head would have cost me around $300 (which is not what he told me when I was sitting in his chair!!) At this point I knew he would lie through his teeth just to "win" this argument. So I went to another aveda salon (escape salon in the prudential) and asked how much they would have charged me for full color on my long thick hair, she said no more than 175. She also said there is no way my color would have come to $300. Im so enraged by his lack of professionalism and dishonesty. Do yourself a favor, avoid this location. Yes you may end up with wonderful color but if you are not satisfied for whatever reason the owner will not work with you, he will not budge and will clearly say anything in order to come out on top.

Erma is fast and efficient for Brazilians, which is great! Have been Ermas regular customer for as long as shes been there. Customer Service and business policies, however, are atrocious. Booked "Buy With Me" services over a month in advance and clearly noted I was using vouchers. Was sent 2 confirmations that noted "Using Buy With Me", but they waited until after my 1st service was done and I started my 2nd service to say "I was 3 days outside the buy-with-me window and they wouldnt honor it". Talked to the owner, George, and he said it wasnt his fault that I booked it "at my convenience" or that the confirmations were sent since they are "system generated". He kept ALL of my buy-with-me money and charged me full price. I said I was a regular paying customer (every month), but could not come back given this attitude and he was fine with that. Real business savvy! Go for a good wax, but be wary if you have any sort of customer service issue at all - you will be stomped on & they will not care.

Not impressed. For $55 for a pedicure, I would have expected a much better experience than this. My daughter and I came here as it was close to Fanieul hall. The first thing in the 50 minute pedicure that they had me do was to soak. For ten minutes. ?? I feel bad saying this but I felt that the lady who was doing my feet was over-vigourously massaging them (hurridly) to get us out the door. Nothing relaxing at all about this experience. The paint job was mediocre at best and the nails were shaped all wrong. She literally cut my nail half way in, and left it like that. I am just waiting to stub my toe and have that break off. Plus , they only tip in cash ( would have been good to know when making the appointment ) and there are no ATMs that close by. For over $100 for two pedicures, I would never return here for this level of service. I have had $20 pedicures that were better than this.

I was very specific with George about what I wanted for a haircut. Even had a picture. He was very pleasant, and appeared to listen attentively, then did the EXACT OPPOSITE. I asked for next to no length off, just wanted some layers. He took five inches off the baseline. I asked for a messy textured look, got blunt heavy lines. Overall, a dumpy cut in a frumpy "nowherseville" length. Nice enough guy, but WAY BEHIND THE TIMES in terms of cutting technique. Went to another place to get ideas for cuts that would give my hair some kind of style while it grows out. The girl I spoke with said she gets a lot of people who come from him unhappy with their haircut. Left a message the next day letting the salon know how unhappy I was, and that Id like to be refunded as I planned on getting it re-cut somewhere else, never heard back.

I was very specific about the hair style I wanted. I was not given what I wanted. I was charged more to "fix" it, though it still doesnt look like the picture I brought in. I was criticized for having thick, long hair, and the master stylist, George, told his assistant, when standing right behind me, that he wasnt going to "waste time" blow drying my hair. When I politely told the owner that the hair style wasnt what I had in mind, I was told to "grow up" and"stop whining". I have never been spoken to so rudely in my life. I have never paid so much for a hair style (over $300!). I woudnt have minded paying so much if I got what I wanted. I did not, and the owner obviously doesnt care. THIS WAS THE WORST SALON EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD!!!!!!!!!
