I simply needed a windshield and side mirror replaced. Side mirror was put on fine, so far. Carstar had my car for a little over a week and did not call me to update me on when the estimate was done, when parts were in, and when it was ready for pickup. I had to call and check up, each time. When I picked up my car, the windshield was put on incorrectly. It was not sealed to the edges of my car and there was such a gap that air was getting in. It got very loud when driving on the highway. My wipers were also skipping whenever I used them, due to my windshield not sitting on my car correctly. I also noticed that the interior of my car on the sides of the windshield were slashed. My dashboard was scraped. I called Carstar less than 24 hours after picking up my car, they told me to bring it back in. Upon bringing it back in, I was told that they would need to order clips for the windshield as well as interior parts. I waited as they adjusted my wipers so I could use them in the meantime while waiting for parts. This was Thursday. I was told the parts would be in "early next week". 1 week goes by. I called and was told that they were waiting for my insurance company to get in contact with them, as Carstar had left a message. I contacted my insurance, I didnt understand why they needed to contact my insurance if they were fixing parts of my car that THEY THEMSELVES had damaged. My insurance guy got back to me after calling Carstar himself, saying that there must have been a miscommunication on their end as they received no calls from Carstar. He was told the parts would be in that next day. Another week goes by, I called Carstar to see if parts were in. I was told they "should be in tomorrow". Again. Wait, it gets better. I called after ANOTHER WEEK of waiting, and was told parts were in ( I was never called) and we scheduled a time for me to bring in my car. Carstar arranged a rental for me. I was told theyd only need my car for a half a day. So i drop off my car on a Thursday afternoon, get in a rental. The next day I called to find out if my car was ready. It was, and again I wasnt notified. So I go Friday afternoon to pick up my car. There is a 5 inch crack in the upper right-hand corner of my brand new windshield. I was told Id have to bring my car back yet again, after more parts came in of course. I was sent off with my cracked windshield, being assured it was not a safety issue but also warned that the crack will most likely get bigger. It did. About twice its original size. Fed up with Carstar, I called them when I got home that evening and told them I would like to bring my car elsewhere for windshield replacement and would like to invoice Carstar for it, as I already paid them to fix my windshield. I was told they would not pay it, as their warranty only covered their labor and parts. I called again a week later, parts were in (again, no notification) so I scheduled a time to bring my car in, got in another rental. At this point, the employees at the front desk knew exactly why I was there. I picked up my car again, and noticed the scrapes on my dashboard were still there. I also noticed I was completely out of windshield washer fluid, which was strange as I had some in there when I dropped it off. This morning, I got more washer fluid and tried to wash my windshield. My windshield sprayers are not spraying correctly. My car is not restored to pre accident condition, but I will take care of these matters myself as I am NEVER GOING BACK TO CARSTAR and you shouldnt either. Please save yourself the aggravation.

Just picked up my car at Carstar in Lowell, and had to come right home to write this review and share my experience. Working with the Carstar team made me feel at ease. I was taken through every step of each process and they kept me informed the whole time. My car had heavy front end damage and to say the least you would never be able to tell now. When I picked up my car today I pictured a greasy guy handing me my keys and saying “here ya go, car is out front”, but no Eric walked me out to my car walked me around my car explaining to me everything they did and how they did it. I was shocked when I saw how nice my car looked. The customer service I received was not what I expected from a Body shop, it was more on the lines of the customer service you would get staying at a High end Hotel. I could not be happier with the experience I received over the last few weeks, from my initial phone call, to dropping off my vehicle, lining up my rental, and then picking up my car. If you’re looking for a first class Auto Body company , I’d look no further than Carstar Lowell To Randy, Mike, Eric and all the whole team at Cartstar, Thank you for making my experience stress free and keep up the good work!

I had to head out to Carstar after a minor fender-bender. I was paying to have a few streaks toward the rear of the car I collided with buffed out. I wasnt really in a very good mood upon arrival, considering the circumstances. But the staff was very kind - everyone, from the customer service woman who I first talked to, to the person who did the buff job, to Mike, one of the managers. I was even offered a free soda while I was waiting for the work to be done. After the buff was completed, the man who owned the car I collided with wasnt satisfied, pointing out a scratch still visible and beyond repair by a buff job. Mike made up a bottle of touch-up paint, and showed the car owner how to apply it by applying the first coat of the paint himself. Then, he threw in the touch-up bottle free of charge. They really made my day, turning around a really stressful incident into the feeling that there are plenty of friendly people still out there.

I was not pleased with my experience with Carstar in Lowell, MA. I was forced to use Carstar because my insurance covered it so I brought it in for a simple bumper repair. They told me it would take 3 days to fix and if they found more damge, they would let me know. They were horrible at keeping me updated about the status as it kept changing. To make a long story short, finally a week later my car was ready. Im convinced they have some unspoken deal with the car rental place where they keep your car for longer than intially estimated to make you keep paying for the rental car. Also, they made me wait an extra day to pick up my car because they had JUST painted the bumper. The bumper should have been painted on day one. I will not be returning to Carstar.

When making a claim through my insurance company and looking at suggested repair centers this one was listed as an express option. I showed up at 8:30AM appointment on a Tuesday, Had my claim processed by insurance agent and car inspected by Carstar technitian and my car rental was delivered there and I was on my way to work in 20 minutes. Carstar promised the car would be ready by Friday afternoon and it was. It looked great and the repairs look like new. When picking up my car I left the rental with them, payed my deductable and was in my car and out of there in under 15 minutes. Each Carstar employee I met treated me as if I was a guest at a five star hotel. Best auto repair experience I ever had.
