Part 1: See attachment for Pt 2. Not joking, I cannot edit this down. It takes a lot for me to get this upset. And I am extremely upset. I am moving from Austin to Boston in July/August. I am flanked on either side of my move with commitments (out of state, out of country, a funeral and new job training, but not so unreasonably so that I dont have options), so I am using PODs, because they claim they can provide more accurate delivery windows than traditional long haul movers, etc. Great! Wait... The Austin side of this move has been extremely easy. The Boston side of this move has been an absolute hellish nightmare for many reasons: 1. The Boston area location cannot apparently deliver the POD on ANY DAY OTHER THAN MONDAYS OR SATURDAYS. ??? 2. The Boston area location cannot apparently do same day drop off and pick up of a POD in the Boston area EVEN THOUGH ITS A MAJOR CITY AND THERE ARE A MULTITUDE OF RESTRICTIONS THAT GO ALONG WITH LEAVING A STORAGE CONTAINER STREET SIDE FOR LONGER THAN A FEW HOURS (similar to a moving truck) - what this means for me is leaving a POD in the loading dock area of my apartment. Which also isnt reasonable to ask my complex if I can take up their loading dock with deliveries, people moving in and out, trash, etc (I did ask anyway, fingers crossed and begging, but they could not accommodate). So, essentially, between points 1 and 2, I cant even use PODs alone to complete this move. 3. Every time I call, I get completely, COMPLETELY different answers to the questions I need to ask pertaining to my move. Which is extremely frustrating. Calling PODs one day and hearing "we only deliver Mondays and Saturdays" to hearing "no maam, we deliver Mondays through Saturdays" another time. Inconsistency is the QUICKEST way to lose customers to trust. How am I supposed to be able to trust your associates if Im being given differing answers every time I call? So, I escalate. 4. When I escalate, I am given absolutely NO options. NO empathy whatsoever on the other end of the line. "Maam the supervisor is just going to tell you the same thing I am". Then what is the point of an escalation? If no one is even seemingly WILLING to help me, what is the point? Im not kidding here - it has been like Ive been talking to 15+ black holes. Zero help. Absolutely nothing. Mostly silence on the other end of the phone. And believe me, I have offered up plenty of ideas to see if they can accommodate ANY of them. Theyre all answered with no.

I cannot seem to get a straight answer on anything when I contact PODS. Everytime I call I have to wait with annoying hold music to talk to someone only to be told they cant help me and I need to be transferred to another department to wait with annoying hold music again and be told they cant help me. Its like Dantes outer circle. They give you the run around and no one follows up or actually cares about helping you. Everytime I call I get a different answer on everything I feel like Im on a game show to measure the capacity of human frustration. In addition to wasting hours upon hours of my life with their hopelessly incompetent "Customer Service" team, my main beef with PODS is a financial one. HOLY HIDDEN CHARGES BATMAN. When quoted the amount it would cost for my cross country move they quoted me the pre-tax amount. They also failed to disclose that I would be charged 2, yes 2! whole months of storage at $205 apiece for using the POD for 13 days, because the days spanned two different months and they dont prorate as a policy. I bet they dont. So Ive now paid over $600 more than what I was quoted between the unmentioned tax and the 2 months (for 13 days) storage. They are now saying that they will not deliver the POD unless I pay an additional $180 delivery fee, also, never disclosed to me. (see a theme here?) I am moving to an urban city and have had to acquire special and expensive moving permits (that I had to go to City Hall for!) for my specific move dates and have hired movers on the most moving active day of the whole year. They essentially held my property hostage and said they just "wont show up" if I dont pay them the $180 fee (somehow not included in the $2400 I already paid to move the POD) That is extortion!! I think it is DISGRACEFUL to treat the customers that have chosen to do business with you in this way, gouging them, giving them the run around and holding their property hostage. PODS is a disorganized, greedy corporation that doesnt care about their customers in the slightest. On top of the profound stress of a cross country move, I have this to deal with?! From a company I have already paid thousands of dollars to? SHAME ON YOU PODS for making my move a living hell. I wouldnt recommend you to my worst enemy.

This company doesnt even deserve one star! They are by far the WORST company I have ever had to deal with. My husband and I moved across the country from CO to RI and these Baffoons dont even know where our POD is literally! We called to see if it had been picked up for shipping (about a month ago!) and they told us it was in a holding facility in CO, meanwhile I was catching up with my old neighbor from CO and guess what shes telling me is getting vandalized... Yup you guessed it our POD! Which means they flat out lied to me, told me it was in a storage facility and my neighbor is telling me shes looking out her front window at it in that very moment!! No one can give us a reasonable explanation as to why it had not been sent out for delivery when its been over a month that we moved! Meanwhile my husband and I are sitting in an empty house with nothing to sleep on, nothing to cook with and no basic essentials!!! These people may as well give as much as a wink to show how much they care that their customers are waiting for them to get around and do their jobs so that their customer can GET ON WITH THEIR LIVES!!! NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!

We had a really good experience using PODS storage. We used this service because we had to move out of our apartment by a certain date and could not move in immediately to our new place. It was easy to schedule the different stages of the move and to make changes online. The prices quoted were the prices charged with no hidden charges, taxes, or fees and they were charged at the correct times. The drivers were very accommodating to make sure to place the container in the desired locations. The only negative I can mention is the scheduling. The drivers were (hours) late for every single delivery/pick up. PODS would give a time window of 3 hours and the deliveries were not made during these times. Luckily I was not waiting around for them to arrive aside from the initial delivery. They need to be more realistic in their scheduling to ensure the correct delivery times. This is a very convenient service and worthwhile if you need to store things in between moves.

Dont trust PODS. I had a delay with my PODS delivery in Boston that I found out about with under a day left for when it was supposed to arrive. First they said Id get it in a day, then maybe the next day, then maybe the next day, and finally not until Monday. Come Monday after delivery the door on the unit wouldnt open and I had to make multiple calls to get them to send someone to unstick the door. I incurred well over $1,000 in extra expenses for my family of four to get by without our belongings in Boston which was over 1,000 miles from our old home. PODS said theyd get back to me in a few weeks to offset my extra costs, a month has gone by. I called them since they werent contacting me and I was promised a call back this week. The week went by and still no call. What a horrible experience . . . .
