In September 2013 had multiple electrical repairs in this new to me older home that had not been maintained prior to purchase. Had 6 different contractors look at job. JP McCurdy was the most responsive in terms of visiting and providing an estimate. Costs were in line with or better than some other electrical contractors. They were very helpful in determining what jobs were safety issues and needed to be completed immediately, which were best practice but could wait and which were just annoying quirks of older home and could be worked around or left as is. Started job very soon after accepted estimate. Some real challenges from 80 years of do it yourself wiring but they worked wonders. So pleased with the work the workers and the price. In November 2013, in the midst of installing built in, discovered needed different kind of outlet for TV in the middle of day. JP McCurdy sent electricians same afternoon to do the work so other contractor could finish up same day instead of coming back in a few weeks. Amazing. June 2014, breakers that run pool equipment tripped and would not reset, right after pool party. No way to clean pool shock pool or filter pool. At this very busy time of year, Mr McCurdy himself came out to trouble shoot as no one else available. Determined the source of the short, water in conduit to pool light (Yikes!) and disconnected that portion isolating the problem so the rest of the pool related items could be turned on safely. couldnt ask for better service!!!!!!!!.

Services provided include electrical panel upgrade, exterior fixture replacement, and interior switch replacement. Future work is planned and anticipated to continue with them For the Panel upgrade, I worked with Karl. The panel upgrade went smoothly. The crew was professional and very informative as they explained their work as it related to the context of our older home. They were patient with my hovering and informative with my questions while they diligently worked away. For the other work and future work, I am currently working with Mike C. He is diligent with detailed price quoting and scope description so that we can determine which projects we want to take on either due to timing, budget, scope of work, etc. This type of project management/dialogue is particularly helpful for us to tackle projects for our older home in a manageable manner. For the actual work done recently, their crew reflected a consistent theme of JP McCurdy as thorough, informative, professional, accommodating, etc.

I had a rotting rusty junction box in the basement that needed to be replaced. While at my home I had them install a new electric line for my dishwasher. A+ service. I had discovered a rusty rotting junction box in basement while pulling down some old drop ceiling. I called J.P. McCurdy and was able to set up an appointment that worked with my schedule. The electrician came on time, was polite and professional and was able to take of the junction box in no time at all. While performing this job he was able to give me an estimate on having a new electrical line run to my kitchen for the use of my dishwasher (it kept popping the circuit) the estimate was reasonable and he had finished the job before I realized it. Very professional. I highly recommend them and I will be using them in the future for any electrical needs.
