I was extremely disappointed with this company! They came to measure on May 6 and we did not have the install done until July. The day they were supposed to come for the install, I got a phone call at 7 oclock in the morning saying they were not coming that day but would be there the next day, July 9. I paid over $5000 for a walk-in closet and a closet installion in my sons attic bedroom. The attic bedroom closet was absolutely ridiculous. It was so tiny and nothing like the designer, Jen, had promised us. It is totally useless! We paid $1400 for it! After complaining to the company, after many, many repeated unanswered phone calls, the manager and designer came back. They said that I had signed the contract the way it was designed. The problem is, this company is so low tech that the designer spends hours at your house drawing a tiny pencil rendition of what it is supposed to look like. We relied on the designers honesty as she physically and verbally showed us what it was going to look like. The room was nothing like she described to us! The installer even had to build more shelving because the design was so poorly made! The manager, Jen, was extremely rude, and she made us beyond uncomfortable in our own home--very demeaning!! They told us we could have it exactly the way that it was described to us in the initial consultation at a managers price of only $600! That is after I paid over $5000 for their service! I refused to give this company one more penny of my hard earned money! This was the worst financial decision Ive ever made! Worst customer service ever! I wish I had read all the negative reviews before I hired these people!

Carolyn at Closets By Design made me a believer! Before Carolyn arrived at my home, I was ready! Ready to listen, then respectfully tell her "Ill think about it" prepared to bring in other companies for estimates. Well, Carolyn was not the pushy sales rep I expected -- we walked into each room, we talked, maybe this, how about that -- I was ready to buy 2 maybe 3 closets!! Then, Carolyn brought me back down to earth -- she suggested "how about if we start with one closet, live with it a while, see what you think." I am a strong believer that the people who are on the front lines, talking with the public, represent the management and work ethic of that company -- Carolyn, knew the product line well, made suggestions that were for my benefit and my benefit only and, finally, I love my closet!!! It was delivered on time, the installer was a great guy, very respectful of my home (clean and neat!) and the closet fit like a glove into the space. And, the most important part -- the closet does exactly what I wanted it to do -- it maximized the amount of usable space in the corner of a small bedroom so I can finally (finally!) organize -- put away, neat and tidy, behind closed doors, all the clutter, the clothes, the stuff thats been aggravating me for years! Thank you Carolyn! Thank you Closets By Design!

Absolutely AWFUL!! After a 2 month wait for a closet, and having them call out sick an hour before the originated installation; an installation that took only 30 minutes to do, I was left with the biggest monstrosity of a what this company considers to be a closet. $100 worth of shelving from Walmart and my closet would have turned out so much better than what Jennifer designed and was installed. FALSE WORDS led me to buy into the design which was NOT even remotely close to the design I agreed on. Dont waste your time or money, look ELSEWHERE. OVER PRICED, a hassle to get ahold of and a lot of regrets. I had called the closet company another 6 times after installation to get them out to fix the flawed design, and after yet another cancellation they attempted to charge another $600 to fix my “closet” which is nothing more than a few shelves. Wish I had read these reviews before wasting my money! Very unprofessional (they will ignore your calls), Cancel on you with less than 24 hour notice (more than once) and then try to blame their lack of communication on your misunderstanding of reading their design blue print.

Terrible experience. I had met with a consultant to design my closet on May 27th. I put a downpayment down that day, which was half the cost, and then no one came to install until July 15th. Thats 7 weeks later. I still decided to go forward. On July 15th, when the installation person came, they noted that the persons designs were actually not measured correctly, which led to some gaps in the design. He said that someone would have to come back to put in filler to close the gaps. I called the Shirley, MA office while he was installing to tell them that I did not feel comfortable providing final payment until the closet was actually complete. They insisted it wouldnt be a problem and someone would be by within 3 business days. So I complied and provided final payment. Well here I am a week later and no one called and no one came by. I had to track down sales/installation people who told me that they couldnt do an install for another week or two. I request a form of reimbursement due to this becoming a 10-11 week deal. I was told they couldnt do that. This is completely unacceptable and in breach of the contract.

Trucker info : Stop you truck on the road and take a walk around first. They dont use the docks that are clearly visible from the road. They use a forklift outside, just next to those. So...get in the yard ( nose of the truck first), between the majestic pines tree line and the parking lot for cars. Stop there, get inside (follow C-110 doors indication) and they will get the stuff out. They dont have those small forklift to use inside the trailer, make sure the skids are light or close to the back of the trailer. With a truck with a sleeper and an 53 trailer you can go forward, follow the small road next to the pond and you can turn in the parking lot behind the firsts buildings (lot of jack-knifing to do so). They say its possible to back in first from the road, the angles and space are limited with obstacles, keep your eyes and ears open.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! The designer that came in was fine. The installation person showed up 5 hours late and in the end, did not have all of the materials he needed to complete the job. Had to come a different day to finish. The manager was very nice about handling this situation and said that she would compensate us on the final bill. If it ended there, I wouldnt be writing this letter. Five months after, I received a bill in the mail for the money that they took off of the bill. I called and asked them to review and I was met with rudeness and contempt. I made a complaint with the BBB and have called them 8 times because this bill is in a collection status, thus effecting my credit. The secretary has passed on these 8 messages and they will not contact me. Work was fine... but the customer service has been horrendous!!
