I found this gym to be very vague & unspecific in their rules & regulations. I was told not to leave my gym bag in the chairs or on the floor by one of the female attendants. She told me I could leave it in the locker room. I said, Ok, I dont have a lock so is it ok if I bring it with me? She said ok, as long as you dont leave it on the floor. I said is ok to bring it with me & she said yes. So I went to the treadmill, hung my bag up on the fence by the treadmill & started my workout. I used 2 other machines with no problem. I took a shower & as soon as I got out of the shower, this kid[with all kinds of metal sticking out of his face, particularly his lower lip] called me & told me to sign this paper. I looked at & it was a paper CANCELLING MY MEMBERSHIP FOR NON-COMPLIANCE!! I COULDNT BELIEVE IT!! I said, What?? Non-compliance??? What are you talking about?? He told me in a very hostile tone, Look, you were told at LEAST TWICE to put your gym bag away & you didnt comply!! Im cancelling your membership!! I refused to sign the paper as I said I didnt do anything wrong therefore why should I sign it? I was told Not to put the bag in the chair & NOT to leave it on the floor & I didnt! He INSISTED the female worker told me at least TWICE to put my bag in the locker room. [she didnt] He consulted with her & she said she did but I can say in all honesty she didnt. She told me not to leave the bag on the floor & I didnt. I hung it up on the metal fence. We kept going back & forth like this, back & forth. I told him that I have been a member of this gym in good standing for almost 2 years now & I have NEVER had a problem before now nor was I EVER told to cancel my membership. Fianally, this kid said to me, Look, when you go beyond this entrance, you cant have ANYTHING on you but your keys & cell phone!! Well, if SOMEONE would have TOLD me that....THEN MAYBE there wouldnt have been a PROBLEM!! Also, when they said, You cant leave your bag on the floor I took them at their word & brought my bag with me. What this idiot meant was, Dont bring your bag in the exercise area If he would have just TOLD ME THAT FROM THE BEGINING, RATHER THAN TRY TO CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP.....THIS WHOLE PROBLEM COULD HAVE BEEN EASILY AVOIDED. I found this kid [with pointy metal sticking out of his lower lip] very loud, aggressive, rude & angry. Not professional AT ALL. There are FAR better & more effective ways to communicate. Definetely, the staff there is DESPERATE need of training in dealing with people. Because of this incident, I could not recommend this gym to anyone~

I dont get the negative reviews here. The gym is 10 minutes from my house easy and convenient from exit 36 off Montvale Av itd be like a 5 minute drive if you dont hit the light. The gym policy is simple an initial startup fee, then$10 a month. Its pretty simple and pretty much like any other gym out there. Nothing hard here. The staff is friendly and always willing to accommodate you and help you out. Ive never had an issue with a PF staff member. How can you say the parking is difficult? There is a big parking lot and I go in the evening sometimes on weekdays and theres no issue with parking whatsoever. You can always park a bit down the street too if it gets full. Dont come to ANY Gym between 3:00pm and 6:00 on a Weekday and expect it to not be jammed. its like that everywhere not just PF. If you want the gym to be less crowded go in the off hours. The best thing about PF is the hours . The hours are great. they are open MON -THURSAY 24 hours, and Friday until 9pm. I think weekends they are open till 7pm. But there is never anyone in the gym after 7pm. Difficult layout? Ha! The layout is quite simple if you ask me. The cardio machines are in the middle ...most of the treadmills are in the same area as the bikes and the ski machines....the rest of the gym is the weight machine areas which all have instruction signs on how to use them, there is another weight area to the left and the fast paced work out area to the right which is a special fast pace work out zone where you switch machines when the traffic light turns from red to green. I just dont get the negative reviews. Best thing about planet fitness is you dont deal with the EGO people and the JOCKS. No one criticizes you if youre a little overweight and working on your weight loss like I am. I hate the gyms where people stare at you if youre 20 lbs overweight or something or if you have a lot of weight to lose like me. The locker rooms are fine if you ask me. I never shower @ Any gym. (I would suggest people shower at home) when they get back. And yes people theres things called LOCKS bring your locks and lock your locker if you are nervous about losing stuff. But I think most people are honest and Ive never lost anything there yet. The planet fitness is one of the better ones. =) especially because there are no EGO people and NO CRITICS.

This rating is based solely on shoddy and deceptive management policies. I actually like the gym itself; the facilities are fine for what I need, the place is clean, the hours are great, and I have no complaints against the staff I encounter day to day. And I do like the fact that its a gym where everyone can feel comfortable. Classes and guidance are minimal to non-existent, but if youre comfortable dealing with a gym on your own, its fine. HOWEVER, I am really irate about their renewal practices. They sent me a coupon at the end of last year to renew for $99 for the year, so I went in and filled out the form they gave me, they gave me a new membership card, and told me the old one was no longer valid. Turns out, next month I discover theyre still billing for the old membership (on a monthly basis). They claim I needed to cancel my membership, since I was given a new one, even though I clearly went in to RENEW, not get a new one, and I was told the old card wasnt valid. When I (and others who were caught by this scam) complained, we were told they have a policy of not issuing refunds. Its a cheap gym, so its not a huge amount of money, but its a deliberate scam and people ought to be aware of it.

so i got the black membership card in tewksbury and the reason i got the black card was so i can bring my friend with me for more motivation. the girll said i can bring any one to any pf with no problem. Btw she didnt give me anything the first day i signed up. no key tag no t-shirt nothing. she said next time you come well give you key tag... anyway i finally got the key tag and i decided to go to woburn Pf sens its 24 hours Monday through Friday . The guy Was cool he let my friend in and worked out together. i brought him few nights in a roll. then This Girl that work there one night made a big problem said i cant bring a guess because im signed up in Tewksbury not woburn. WTF? and the girl in Tewksbury said i can bring guest to any PF...
