After being a member at this gym for over 8 years I have finally come to the point that enough is enough. I understand that this is a busy location this facility is under staffed to say the least. To start off the only reason I am still a member at this gym when my dues have gone from $39.95 in October of 2008 and steadily risen every so often, currently at $59(I am currently 26 and aware that it is going to go up again on my borthday if not sooner) is because they offer many different amenities such as a basketball court, towels, indoor pool, indoor lap pool, indoor jacquizzi, outdoor pool for the summer, steam room, sauna, and a full workout area(these are the ones that I use, I know there are others as well). The care of the gym as a whole has declined in every aspect. To start off, the mens locker room is always in all kinds of disarray. The garbage bins are not only full but over flowing. You are lucky to have clean towels readily available. The dirty/used towel bins are always filled beyond the granite tops. Used towels are all over the place. The showers have used towels and trash left everywhere. There have been times where the toilet paper was missing in the stalls. Last but not least the bags used to take your wet clothes home are sometimes all gone and we have to ask the attendants at the towel desk multiple times until a new roll is put in the appropriate place. These unsanitary conditions make me question why I even come here to begin with. Out of the two basketball courts one is almost always taken by a league and the other seems to always be busy with different miscalaneous things such as birthday parties or 4 children being taught karate. I understand that these members are entitled to the use of the basketball court just like I am but when it comes to the point that I can almost never use the courts it makes it very frustrating. The workout are upstairs has many different issues. To start off, once again the unsanitary conditions of the machines never being wiped down. Used towels being left everywhere. Weights are never put back where they belong. It has taken me over ten minutes to find a matching set of dumbbells. The racks of weights always seem to be empty even on slow days such as Saturdays. The weights plates used for bench presses and other workout are never organized and most of the time the plates are left on the ground instead of put back on the appropriate racks. The classes that are held throughout the workout floor have made it difficult to even have a full workout. I have even noticed that there have been classes that were held on the normal gym floor instead of in the classrooms that are locked and unused at times. The members that throw the weights to the ground are never asked to follow any of the posted rules. Last but not least there have been multiple occasions where groups of kids or teenagers were upstairs just causing a disturbance. These are just some of the problems that I have witnessed with my own eyes. Had my membership been $10 a month I could understand these issues being acceptable but for a gym of this scale to be in this condition is unacceptable. I am currently looking at other options and debating if I am going to go to an alternate local gym that offers of these similar amenities but actually care about the members as a whole and take care of their establishment. Hopefully Lifetime is able to get their act together as I would like to continue using this gym. When I first enrolled this wasnt just a local gym but a fitness center that cared about its reputation and about its members. Honestly speaking as a entrepreneur myself it isnt hard to fix these issues but it will take a few additional people on staff to make sure these items are taken care of regularly.

This review was deleted once, because the company is full of self-deifying saps who cant take criticism. Ill keep reposting until the review is left up =) The gym continuously raises rates, yet there are quite a few issues I have that provide insufficient justification for anything but a $25/month reduction in my rates - at least! First, why the heck do you people think those there to genuinely exercise want to do so in practically 70 degree heat without any fans or anything to move the air around? Second, the music is absolutely horrible! Do people that can afford this place honestly want to listen to teeny-bopper top 40 trash? Third, the televisions are not tuned to anything appropriate for exercising - CNN, talk show drones, mind-numbing "music" videos (the same Fallout Boy garbage played four times in 20 minutes one day). Fourth, many machines are rickety and clearly do not undergo maintenance as much as they should. Fifth, the climbing wall hours are pathetic and the routes havent been updated in three years (give or talk a handful). Sixth, can we please get a decent amount of bench space, so that when the dweeb on the cell phone is taking up half the bench, I still have some space for the few seconds I need it? Seventh, the shower curtains are often ratty and riddled with holes. Its bad enough I have to be abundantly aware of the leery perverts as I change, its worse to see evidence they also want to watch me take a shower. Eighth, theres still some petrified crap on the wall in the larger stall. Still. Its been five months. Ninth, if bucket-full-of-towels is full, empty it! Not hard! If there isnt a spot for it, Ive got no problem leaving it on the floor for you to bend over and pick it up. Tenth, you replaced your great high-flow shower heads with awful low-flow shower heads. Id rinse the soap off faster if I stood outside and waited for rain. Overall, its clear you cut quite a few corners and have lost touch with the fitness-conscious. If there were an LA Fitness nearby, wed be gone. The only reasons I havent canceled: other clubs in the area - which are 20 minutes+ extra travel time (but worth it). While the other clubs have their problems, Commerce is the worst of them all.
