I dont know where the people who gave this place great reviews have had Mexican food before, but this was the worst Mexican Food I have ever had. I had the #8 combo dinner of 1 beef enchilada and 1 tamale (with rice and beans). The meat on the inside of the enchilada was what looked and tasted like coney island hot dog sauce. The enchilada sauce tasted and looked like catchup, and the rice tasted very salty. I have been to Mexico many times and eaten from Texas to southern California, and the food here at Nuevo Vallarata was horrible. The service was excellent thought. The salsa, chips and "new" dipping sauce was good. I dont normally write reviews, but I had to write this and will not be coming back. I understand the drinks are good, but I came for the food because the reviews were so positive. Maybe next time Ill try the restaurants with the most negative reviews.

So I have to admit that I frequent this place at least once a week. Yes, the wait staff speaks very little English and do make mistakes however there is always a manager to clear up any issues. Come on, if you want good authentic Mexican food, you may have to lower your expectations when it comes to the English language. Not to mention the prices are very reasonable. Of the 20+ times I’ve been here, I had one meal that was mediocre, the rest were amazing. Try their veggie fajitas! Oh their white queso is out of this world!

I have tried this place twice for lunch, both experiences were call in orders. The first occasion we were shorted tortillas for our fajitas and they pretty much didnt care since we had made it all the way to our destination. I tried one more time because the food was not bad and every review was great. This last time, today, my order was missing the cheese that made the dish. Sure it sounds miniscule but the missing cheese made this a totally different dish. I will not be returning again!

Ive been to this restaurant at least a half a dozen times, and every time I leave absolutely stuffed. Its authentic Mexican cuisine way deep in the heart of Michigan. So, if you speak Spanish feel free to use the mother tongue if this quaint little gem tucked back off the road. Im from out of town and been to several different regions of Mexico. This is a fun family restaurant that hangs with some of the best. My advice, and for the specials, try something new, and enjoy!!!!

This is my FAVORITE restaurant. The have amazing food and margaritas at a very reasonable price. I go there about once a week with my boyfriend. The service is friendly and fast. Last week I went there we got free shots from the manager. The fajita burrito and island margarita is my go to meal. This is the only restaurant I will get chicken or beef at. Everything is very fresh. I believe this is the best restaurant in Grand Blanc if Genesee County. :)

The waitstaff was friendly and seated us right away. The waitress must have been fresh from the border, she could not speak English very well. She screwed up our order and screwed up our buy one dinner get another dinner half off. The manager made it right in the end. Place seem clean and the food and the drinks were very good. Watch out on the drink,16 ,20 40, or 60 oz Margaritas. I would go back again for a second try.

Monday Margarita special SCAM! These people dilute their drinks and over charge. Had dinner yesterday evening & ordered a Margarita 16 oz along with my meal. The Margarita came back clear as water with just a hint of lime. I asked our waitress for another & she returned with yet another 95% glass of water. She exclaimed that they are pre-made and thats how they come out. Food wasnt much better & will not return.

I visit this place for lunch or dinner at least once a month (and I wish it were more often!) Having grown up in Phoenix, Arizona, Ive missed having good Mexican food here in Michigan - BUT NO MORE!!! I highly recommend the chile verde and that carnitas, but everything Ive ordered has been great. (If you like spicy food - be sure to let them know, because they tend to cook for the Michigan palate.)

Went on a super busy Friday and we were tucked back in a corner behind the bar... IT SMELLED HORRIBLE. I think it was the "fermented old alcohol" smell from the bar! But both my friend and I asked each other if we smelled "vomit". Not to mention the burrito platters we ordered were watery and bland. This restaurant USED to be good and has gone downhill

When I went it was busy but I would still expect good service. They wait we had would just look at you like you werent there. There was no sense of urgency that they were trying to take care of the customer. This was my first visit there. I liked the food. Service has a long way to go. Wont go back.. Poor service is a deal breaker..

We just moved to Grand Blanc and were excited to try some restaurants in the area. We decided to try this place out. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. The inside is not well kept and it seemed dirty The service and food did not make up for it. Food is meh, service is slow, and staff is rude. We wont be going back.

We were seated in a dark part of the restaurant near the bar. Service was very slow, the food was lousy and lukewarm. When I went to pay I could see in part of the kitchen and there was something splattered on the wall. Weve had decent experiences here before but this was bad enough for us not to return.

Food was just terrible! None of the food was fresh (or even homemade). Potato wedges in the rice, no flavor! Beans were runny. I had the Enchiladas (taste like acid vomit) . The salsa is okay- but cheapest store bought chips. The service was good.. Food was TERRIBLE! Dont recommend this to anyone!

Nuevo Vallarta is an incredible restaurant in Grand Blanc and is a must-visit in the area. The Lunch Fajitas are a solid bet at a great price, and with speedy service. Definitely visit Nuevo Vallarta if youre looking for fairly authentic Mexican food with good portions and great prices.

Food was bland and horrible service. Spent most of our meal waiting for our server. Saw them 3 times total. I would recommend spending the 10 minutes to drive over to Courtland mall (i know not the greatest area) to El Cozumel. A lot better food and service.

The environment is very festive and enjoyable. I felt at home. The food was amazing! Some of the best Mexican food I have ever had. The serving staff hustle and are always moving to help the customers. You will not be disappointed eating at Nuevo Vallarta.

Large portions on the food and margaritas were very good. Salsa was great and service was friendly. We both had fajitas and asked for vegetables to be tender and onions carmeliized and they came out raw. The quality of the meat wasnt the best.
