My wife and I booked our honeymoon through this company last year, all was very friendly and helpful at first. Our only issue that we stressed was that we would receive a beachfront room, we wanted a room that we could simply walk outside our door to the beach. Jim Ehehalt gave us his business card in case we had any issues once we arrived, he said to "call immediately". Well inevitably when we arrived we were given a 4th floor room with obstructed view by trees. Not what we asked for at all. We called im immediately, and never heard back the entire trip. We spent $5,000 on this vacation, it was the only honeymoon we will ever take, and he got it wrong. Never called or emailed me personally to apologize. I emailed him promptly when I returned and he said he would look into it. To make a long story short, after over 20 emails, 2 rude phonecalls where he blamed me for not checking my intinerary well enough (please note the room had a code assigned to it, i never wouldve known the difference based on the paperwork, it doesnt say "beachfront" or anything like that), and finally disputing the credit card charge before he agreed to refund a portion of the cost...the difference between the room price we recieved and what we paid for. RIDICULOUS...RUDE....THEY TELL YOU WANT THEY WANT YOU TO HEAR...they simply take their commission and then dont care less...I live in the city of Novi and always like using local businesses...but very sad that I used this one...my wife and I deserved more respect, less stress, and delivered promises for this kind of money.

Worst experience possible! Please save your time and money and do not deal with this place! We worked with Patty and she could not have been more incompetent. We were guests at a destination wedding so we decided to go through the suggested travel agent in hopes to make the trip a little smoother, boy did my husband and I misjudge that one. I would have done a better job booking the whole trip myself and it would have been much cheaper , this place charges a lot and offers zero deals. Everyone else who booked through Patty got resort credit and we were the only ones who didnt, which makes me think she didnt want to put in any work when booking the trip. My husband is in a wheelchair so we had a few extra questions for Patty and when we tried to get answers she never could answer and always said she had to call us back, which she never did. She never informed the airlines about my husband and when we got to the airport we got a little speech about informing them ahead of time, which we know but we figured the travel agent would do their job. The hotel was not very accessible, even though we asked numerous times beforehand if it was. We were not the only ones with issues in the wedding group either but I could go on and on, my advice is dont go through Brookside Travel, find somewhere else or book and plan yourself.

My husband and I worked with Jim from Brookside to book our honeymoon with Sandals Barbados. Jim made sure we had all the documents we needed and was helpful in answering our questions. One major learning experience for us was how important a travel agent is for out of the country vacations - a lot of airlines will require you call and its nice to not have to worry about International calls. We were in Barbados when Hurricane Irma was destroying the Caribbean islands and heading for Florida. Our connecting flight was supposed to be in Miami and our flight was cancelled/rescheduled from Monday to Wednesday. We reached out to Jim to review our options and decided to stay the extra couple days. That was until Tuesday morning when our flight was rescheduled again and bumped to Saturday(!), we knew this wasnt doable for us so we reached out to Jim again. My husband and I found a flight online that left that same day at 7:15pm, Jim worked quickly to get us on this flight! While we wouldve loved to stay at the resort for another few days, we were ready to get home and not worry about travel arrangements. I guess that would be my only complaint, it would be nice if they had been more proactive in finding us other options for getting home. I felt too much of our trip was taken up by worrying how we were going to get home.

My girlfriends and I went to this travel agent to book our spring break trip through them. I will not post HIS name that worked there but the agent we talked to was very rude, kept pushing other spring break locations onto us that we told him we were not interested in, was rushing us to hurry up and make up our mind where we were going to book a trip to, had bad breath and was spitting all over his desk when he talked!! Ewwwww, gross! It was by far the WORST travel agency that I have ever went to and I have been to about a half a dozen in the Metro Detroit area. The only reason why we went there is because we were in the area and figured wed stop by and see what deals they were offering. Oh and I almost forgot, after we were quoted a price per person, I called around to some other agents and found out Brookside Travel was charging us about $800 dollars more than other agents. Shame on you guys and shame on anyone who lets them take your hard earned dollar!! I hope this review helps. Liz

Recently we took a trip to Walt Disney world & We booked it a year ago with Bridget, who was wonderful! She made sure that she explained everything to us, since its been years when Ive been there & my 8 year old daughters first time. She keeped in touch though the whole year with things we should plan on doing while in Disney world. Every time I had a question she would get right back to me about it & made changes in our plans when ever I asked her to! When our trip finally came she keeped in touch when we were in Florida & was there for us when I needed her to do something...she made our lives much easier!!! To book a trip to Walt Disney world I feel u need to have a travel agent if you want to get your moneys worth, since Im not sure when we will be back. I would definitely recommend Bridget to any of my friends & Family!!!!

Everyone at Brookside, especially Jim the owner and his associate Patty worked tirelessly to ensure all of our International vacation plans stayed on track during the severe winter storm covering the Southeast - Eastern US. Dealing with at least 3 flight schedule and airport changes, updates with airport transfers and hotel reservations for ourselves as well as our two friends, Brookside handled all issues to our complete satisfaction. Brookside Travel rocks! My husband and I were looking for a last minute, kid-free, beach get-away and Brookside Travel came through. They did an awesome job of reviewing all the options and looking for the best prices. They really went above and beyond to assist us in having a wonderful trip. They have a strong relationship with the hotel we stayed with (El Dorado Seaside) so they put in a request for a room upgrade and we got it! It was truly a special trip!
