Terrible. I called the company to get a quote for painting only. The guy shows up and tries to quote new trim, doors, drywall and paint. He leaves and an hour later shows up again with samples of carpet too. I said okay, give me the quote. After I go the quote I asked for him the remove everything that I didnt originally ask for. He gave me the quote for paint only. I told him that we would like to hire him for the job. He then told me that he wouldnt do the job for that price. I would avoid this company at all costs. Based on the way they handled this, I wouldnt at all be surprised if they would not finish jobs halfway through. I see that they have responded to my review. What they said below is partly true. Where the truth stops is when he talks about start dates. I spoke with his wife and I told her what I wanted. She agreed and said that her husband would contact me to schedule the date. We spoke about the deposit. When he called it was to tell me that he refused to do the job that we had agreed on. He did this via voice mail. After that I left the original review. When he noticed the review him and his wife repeatedly called me to remove the review. Going to them is like going to a shifty auto shop for a simple oil change. They just keep coming at you for more money.

We had the guys at Big Brush do all of the painting in our home and they also put new carpet in our bedrooms and living room. I had them out for a second time last year to repaint all the rooms in our house to change things up a bit and It looks even better than it did the first time, and the best thing about it was they had it done pronto! No feeling locked out of my own rooms for days on days! This year my wife and I decided that we wanted to redo our carpeting and last week the guys at Big Brush redid our carpet. They helped me choose the type of carpet that suited us best. All around I was more than satisfied with the service. We have known the guys at Big Brush for over 5 years now and they have always done an amazing job and went above and beyond. Most importantly, they do A+ work and are highly skilled in their profession. The painters are trustworthy, I did not feel unsafe with them being in my home. The office staff has always been helpful and knowledgeable on anything we needed to know. All around they are all a great group. From day one the gave me comfort with friendliness, positive attitudes, good humor and respect. I will always use Big Brush and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND them to all of my family and friends.

I feel obligated to say Stay away from this company. With my experience, it was more them talking up what kind of company they are and they promised to deliver their job on time with your expectations. I had two smaller living rooms and a bathroom painted. He said it was a 2 day job and at least three contractors come in to work on it. Also, their sales rep who initially came in to quote and promise a good job would check in at least once a day to make sure things were going accordingly. The first day no one showed up that morning. I had to call them to see what was going on and who was coming out. They had to pull a guy from another job to just get him started to clean the walls that afternoon. This job lasted 4-5 days. And the last two days were rushed. It was only one guy who came out that whole time. It was the WORST experience ever. This was suppose to be a gift for my parents and it ended up being a disaster. I had to call the reps and complain just to get stuff going. SOOO disappointed for the amount of money I paid. Its better to just find a subcontractor and use them. You guys are too busy lying to people and saying whatever you can just to pocket that money.

Big Brush helped me with two great jobs at my home. The first was a repair, prime, and paint of old water damage to my living room plaster ceiling. The two tradesmen repaired the ceiling with no visible imperfections. They were on time, on budget, and cleaned up after themselves. I had an emergency hospital visit prior to that job, and Shelby and Steve rescheduled for me with the little notice I gave them. Shelby is always so nice on the phone, and Steve always shows up when he says he will - Thanks! The second job was a referral Steve provided for a skilled carpenter named Ivan, who installed a solid oak stairway banister with a 90 deg. turn up top. The 90 deg. section was already built, and Ivan was able to use it by finding and matching the additional piece. Ivan estimated time and materials perfectly, and Steve came over before he was done to make sure things were going smoothly. Thanks, Steve, Ivan, and Shelby! Susan, Royal Oak, MI

We just moved into a newly built house recently, and the biggest headache was dealing with this company. First they were extremely slow at getting started, then they spill a bunch of paint on the carpet and they had paint on our granite countertops and our ceiling fan. For a professional painting company, it was the worst experience ever. When they were finally done, the lines on the ceiling and molding were straight at all, there were spots where you could see they drywall through the paint. If I wanted our new house to look like this, I would have done it myself. I would never recommend this company The project manager was great to work with, but the office manager wants the rest of the payment without providing restitution to our damaged carpet....

Had used Big Brush for putting popcorn on two rooms in my house earlier. Very happy with that. I told them I would use them again. When that time came recently, the phone answerer set up an appt,, told me that if there was any problem she would call. At the appointment time he didnt show up. I called the next day to see what happened. She said she would check into it and call me back. Again, no response. My perception is that this is an employee problem, not a quality-of-work problem. Good luck getting past her and then having him show up.

I do not recommend this company. They were hired to do a small job, and they created a toxic mess. The owner, did not want to honor his contractual guarantee, and decided intimidation would be the best way to make my family drop the matter.The business has been fined by the State of Michigan for breaking safety and environmental health codes. The 44th district court has ordered the owner pay me, and the owner decided to pay only a portion. Its been 2yrs, and Im still getting spam e-mails from this company.

Amazing company to work for. Professional and courteous. The company has been revamped, and is gearing up for a great spring and summer. All of the reviews I have read seem to be issues with contractors that worked here in the past. There are all new employees, labor division, and standards of quality and customer service. The thing that is sad to me is anyone who has a bad experience can go write a horrible review. But what rarely sees the light of day is the hundreds of satisfied customers.
