Yesterday my girlfriend called and got a price for a scan on a check engine light and we dropped the car off. It was 39.99 I made sure I was clear I just wanted a scan before I left because I already knew what was wrong with the car i also told them what i had replaced already. The next day I got a phone call saying the car needed a new engine because the piston is shot and they were charging us 190.00 for spark plugs that I already replaced, coils packs I already replaced, a scope in the piston, compression check and the scan. We had a few words in the lobby after he raised his voice with my girlfriend,, I walked out paying 45.00. I got lucky and I knew the law on this type of behavior and how to deal with shady mechanics. I got accused of trying to rip them off by an employee which made me believe that they have done stuff like this before. I was told to never come back to their establishment again and I am happy to do so. Dont waste your time with these scam artists. This place is a joke. If you do choose to take your vehicle here make sure you are clear and know your laws...like they cant do repairs over 20.00 without contacting the customer first.

I had a mysterious rattle up font on my 2006 Scion TC. I say mysterious because two other mechanics back home in South Carolina couldnt say for sure what it was. Even after close inspection up on the rack. One guy wanted to replace struts to the tune of $700. On the "maybe" that they were the problem. I even had the front bumper re-installed by my local Macco because of the broken clips and connectors. Just trying to chase down the rattle. No bueano! I decided to take a big swind at the problem and have Lewis ave. auto repair go ahead and replace the struts. Earlier in the year they had done right by my 82 year old mother. So by word of mouth they we honest. After a couple of hours they called me back and told me they were confident it wasnt struts but sway bar control links. Saving me big time $! How often do you find a michanic turn a $700 job into a $225 one just because its the right thing. Thanks guys!

i have had a few experiences. first time they flushed my radiator and didnt refill it.................second time I bought a used car and needed new rims and they told me I had two bad tires...wanted to charge me over a thousand dollars. took it to the dealer the tires were fine and all together at the dealer it was 600. yesterday my mother took her car in there they told here her top was leaking...it wasnt the rocker arm was clogged and she had back breaks but no front breaks and would take approx. 8 hrs labor. all together around 4000 dollars..........it got fixed at earl brothers in point place....total cost 90 dollars. I think this place rips off woman especially and i wouldnt go there for an oil change. they would probably forget to put the oil in!!!

Rip off. Charged me $300 for one ball joint. Theyre lucky I needed it done asap. They dont know what theyre talking about either. I noticed something wrong after I got home and checked it and the guys response when I took it back the next day was Oh yeah I saw that . Apparently they cant tighten an oil filter either as the oil filter on someones truck I know was loose when he went to do an oil change himself. Dont waste your time or money here. Theyre morons.

Weve been here four or five times with our vehicles over the past few years, and they always do a great job. We tried another (often recommended) local place closer to us, but they were ridiculously incompetent, so we switched to Lewis Avenue and have never been sorry - very pleased with how honest and professional they are.
