I was referred to Cottage Grove Auto & Collision by my insurance company after my truck was rear ended. After dropping my truck off to have the repairs done, I received a phone call from Tim telling me it will take about 2 weeks to have the repairs completed because there was frame damage. The first repair took just under 2 weeks. When I picked up the truck, I noticed that the bumper was off to one side, and the cab and box did not line up. I pointed it out to Tim, but he assured me that it was fine. I asked if they did an alignment after the repair was completed and he said it did not need one. On my way home, the truck pulled to the right and felt loose. When I hooked up my trailer, the hitch and bumper came loose immediately and the bumper dropped an inch. I called Tim and he said to bring it back. I dropped it off again, and the next day Tim called me and told me it was done. He said that they had torqued the bumper bolts “to spec” this time. When I picked up the truck, the bumper was still not lined up and it was still clearly off to one side. I notified Tim that I would not be accepting the truck since it was still clearly crooked. I left and was contacted by the insurance adjuster the next day. I was told that they would send the truck to another body shop with a more powerful frame rack. What I did not know at the time was that the shop, Pearson Auto Body in Shakopee, was owned by the same owner. The truck was at that shop for an additional 2 weeks. When the repairs were “complete”, the truck was returned to Cottage Grove Auto & Collision. I picked it up there after business hours. My truck was filthy with dust, and had oil running down the back window, box side and on the hood. It also had undercoating over spray on the newly painted tail gate, rear bumper and license plate. At this point, the truck pulled harder to the right and still felt loose. I hooked up my trailer and again, the hitch and bumper dropped an inch. I again called Tim and told him about the condition of the truck. Tim said that he would get back to me in the next day or so. After 3 days I called the adjuster. That evening I received a phone call from Bob Pearson the shop owner. He told me they would take care of it, and Tim would be calling me to set up a time for me to drop the truck off. Again I waited three days and no call. Since I could not get a hold of Tim, I took my truck in for an alignment at another shop at my own cost. At that independent alignment shop, I was notified that the truck could not be aligned because the frame was still bent. I contacted the adjustor again. He told me that I must prove to him that the frame is bent because Cottage Grove Auto & Collision claimed that the frame had been fixed. I made an appointment at a third (independent) frame shop at my own cost. They told me that the frame was indeed bent, twisted, and had a diamond shape, and the rear axle housing was bent. I had them call the adjuster and he went to the frame shop, looked at the readings, and agreed that the frame and axle housing where bent. He gave them an ok to do the repairs to the frame and axle housing. I picked up the truck and found that it finally drove straight and the cab was lined up . They did not take care of the bumper issue or over spray because the adjuster said that I need to give Cottage Grove Auto and collision another chance to fix those issues. I once again called Tim and he said that he would get back to me in the next day or two. Three days later and I still have not been called back. Two months later, three trips to this owner’s shops, and I still do not have a truck that can tow a trailer. The loss of our work truck has been an enormous hardship. This shop has failed to do promised repairs, failed to return phone calls, and repeatedly mislead our insurance adjustor. This shop has turned an accident that was not our fault into an enormous, stressful, expensive problem that has lasted most of the summer.

This was the best auto body experience Ive ever had. I recently had been rear ended in a parking lot and needed to have my bumper replaced or repaired. I drove into Cottage Grove Auto & Collision and got an estimate and quote on the spot. Once I scheduled my appt. to get it repaired they completed the job in less than a day and even gave me a ride to and from work. The finished job looked better than new and to top it off they went above and beyond and washed the outside and detailed the interior of my vehicle. I could not be more satisfied with my experience. I highly recommend Cottage Grove Auto & Collision.

Cottage Grove Auto & Collision made my auto hail damage repair (believe it or not) enjoyable! When I picked up my car it was cleaned inside and out, all fluids topped off and they even adjusted the tire pressure and inspected my windshield wipers for wear! Also the work was done fast - 3days - and very professionally. Thanks Matt!
